We were in Asahikawa for the snow and ice festivall. The hotel is located approximately 0.75 miles from the train station, slightly longer to the entrance to Tokiwa Park Winter Festive venue. Easy to get to. After we arrived at the station, it was pleasant enough that we walked along the street where the ice sculptures were displayed. We also walked back when we left to see the completed ice sculptures after the competition. Dormy Inn was nice although we had a little difficulty controlling the temperature. They had a nice onsen and a complementary ramen meal (9:30 to 11:00 pm) as do all Dormy Inns. Complementary coffee in lobby. Complementary wash in onsen area, drying is 100 yen for 20 min which was sufficient for me

We stayed here for 1 night during a stopover in Asahikawa - this was one of the cheapest hotels we booked during our holiday and were a bit worried about this. However no need! Even though the rooms were clearly a bit dated and furniture a bit worn - it was perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable. We were very pleasantly surprised at the onsen baths on the top floor with both indoor and outdoor baths - they were large, good water quality and the whole area was clean. Great stay - and for this price point perfect.

I have grown to like the Dormy Inn chain a lot for its comfy onsen and room setting. This time we made use of the Hokkaido Earthquake campaign coupon and got a great deal. The queen size room was spacious with the usual comfy bed. There is a self help laundry facility at the onsen changing room where washing is free and small charge for drying. The complimentary evening ramen is very hearty especially in the mid of winter. The staff at the check in counter speak fluent english and very helpful. Only thing to watch out for is that the car park may get full later in the evening.

Great little place with good service & within 10 min walking distance of train station. Rooms are very small but with all the necessary amenities. Nice considerate touches - complimentary ramen for supper & machine coffee all day in the lobby. Cant ask for more for the price you pay in expensive Japan!

Hotel was located in a place that was not hard to find. There is a hotel carpark just beside the hotel that require a fee of 600 Yen per night to park. The room was slightly cramped but it has basic amenities available and we had a very good night rest after we touched down. From 2130 - 2300 hours every night they serve complimentary ramen at the first floor's restaurant just beside the lobby. On the hindsight, staff was not too proficient with English so we had a little communication barrier about the cost of the parking but was resolved at check in. Onsen was great as well! Nothing much to complain about, good hotel and a pleasant stay!

We had a family room with two double bed and living area that can be converted to tatami beds at night. Great for the four of us with lots of space to move around. Breakfast is buffet style with Japanese and Western spread. They serve coffee via a machine in lobby and also in the dining room. Understand they serve free noodles to guests as supper but we didn’t try it. There’s also a nice onsen on the top floor with free self laundry and paid dryer services. Hotel is very centrally located with average 15 minutes drive to different attractions and only 5 minute walk to main shopping and eating areas. However, if you choose to arrive via train then be prepared for a good 15 minutes walk in summer. If its winter then suggest you catch a cab. Parking is chargeable at 600Yen per day. Highly recommended for family with young children. They even provide special children pillows and in-house clothings for the kiddos. There’s also a children cutlery section in the dining room.

Close to good shopping street and many restaurant options but would have enjoyed a bar area where one could mix with other guests post onsen and enjoy a cold drink. Exceptionally clean and excellent night's sleep. Nice rooms. One downside to onsen was the individual washing cubicles ... there was quite a queue. Hadn't come across this kind of set up before but it didn't seem to work as well as the more 'open plan' structure.

Similar to many other Dormy Inn's this is a typical 3* hotel (rather than an Inn). Located just off a main road in Asahikawa its centrally located and a 15min from the central station. We had a room on a high floor overlooking the city. Parking was just outside in a surface car park and was JPY600 a night. From memory if the hotel park got filled up there was an adjacent private surface car park for the same money. The hotel well very well maintained and as usual the room was very clean. Similar to other Dormy Inns, they offer their guests free late night noodles in the restaurant from 9.30pm to 11pm, and the hotel has an onsite "onsen" bathing area. We didn't need to interact with the staff excessively but when we did their understanding of English was sufficient to support our queries. We stayed at the Dormy Inn in Asahikawa for two nights on our roadtrip around Hokkaido and have no hesitation to recommend it to others.
