Detailed Reviews
Excellent choice in Bankso! We came on a whim for a summer weekend and could not have been happier with our choice!
The whole facility is clean, well kept, the staff are so kind and friendly. The owner is a lovely woman who provides exceptional customer service, it’s no wonder the hotel is full year-round!
Breakfast is well provided and the room service was delicious, they obviously take great pride in their offerings.
One small note - this is primarily a winter destination so there was an AC unit in the apartment’s sitting room but not the bedroom, whiz is common for these types of properties. It didn’t cause much of an issue for us, but wanted to make others aware.
Overall we would absolutely come back and refer to friends again and again!

We came with skideal group for five days to enjoy the ski resort. The lucky hotel was excellent, the room were very comfortable clean and warm, the breakfast was very very good and the staff was very nice and helpful. we enjoyed very much our stay. There is a very comfortable shuttle system that leaves the hotel and go directly to the ski resort, all the gondola , which saves a lot of time

The hotel was fantastic. The staff was really helpful and nice and the rooms were great.
The breakfast was also very nice..
We enjoyed nearly every aspect of our stay there.
Sadly we booked this hotel knowing it has shuttles to the top of the mountain, which for some reason was not available this year.
The SPA area was very good. The massages were great and the pools were nice… sadly it was sometimes too crowded and we couldn’t get into the jacuzzi or even get a bed to put our stuff on.
Could also use more shuttles during the evening. If I remember correctly the shuttles from the hotel to the town end at 20:00 which we found to be a little too early.
All in all - we had a very good experience and we will definitely come back if we revisit Bansko.

This was our 3rd time as a family of 5 at Lucky Bansko, it has gone from being fantastic to just ok. Whilst we appreciate that the increases in the cost of living will ultimately have an impact here are some of the things that have changed. The complementary shuttle bus taking you to the top of the mountain has now stopped. Luckily we hired a car this year so we could still avoid the Gondola queue but we were not made aware of this change prior to arriving. The food sadly was not as varied as previous years and the breakfast was also lacking the usual choice. The restaurant staff are still very helpful and friendly especially George and Dino. The room we stayed in was perfect and very comfortable, the pool and spa facilities remain appealing and a great way to relax after a day on the slopes. Sadly there now seems to be a lobby bar smoking area which means the smell of smoke infiltrates into the main reception bar area. This sadly meant we couldn’t sit here in the evenings and enjoy a drink or two because it just wasn’t pleasant or indeed family friendly. Overall they dostaff are all very friendly and very attentive and the resident cats still remain! Our kids still enjoyed the games room, and the token machine games and of course love to use the pool. Not sure we will be back again next year but all in all we had a great ski holiday 2023.

Very nice hotel, nice facilities and amenities. Outside pool has a great feel with the restaurant, and the indoor pool is a treat, with all the other things (sauna, steam bath, etc.). The room is comfortable, good amenities in it. Breakfast is great, and the restaurants are also very good.
A few comments on the negatives:
1-the front desk staff needs to be much better trained. We had 2 situations:
.we were going to the outside pool, and learned on the spot that reservation was required for it (maybe we missed it on the website while booking). The lady at the front desk said there were no places available for the day. Then we decided to walk to the pool, and were told that there were plenty of places available (actually they were operating at less than 50% on that day!). We just booked on the spot (your have to pay to use it), and stayed there for the day;
. I called the front desk to ask about the restaurant service on a Sat night (the "Le Bistro" restaurant), and asked if it was buffet or a la carte. Before answering, she first checked my reservation to see if I had half board included or not, and told me that I didn't have it (which I already knew), and that I would have to pay for the dinner (which I also knew). I answered that all that was fine, and asked again, is it buffet or a la carte? She said it was buffet, and I'd have to pay a certain amount in EUR (which is strange, as in Bulgaria the currency is BGN, not EUR). I thanked her and, not trusting the info, I went downstairs to the restaurant to find out that it was NOT buffet, and that night the service was a la carte. So the message here is that the front desk should understand better the hotel services and, if one doesn't know it, ask to someone who does: don't guess, and don't mislead your guest.
2-Leonardo restaurant has great food, but it is EXTREMELY overpriced. I understand the vibe and the appeal ("Italian", with a fancy take on it), but the average price was 2.5x higher than the other restaurant ("Le Bistro"). It was the most expensive lunch I ever had in Bulgaria, even compared to hotel prices in Sofia.
All in all, a nice experience. Service at the restaurants was superb: great staff. Front desk needs to improve a lot, though. Hopefully it will get better.

The SPA center looks new, clean and very nice and the water is warm in the pools. The ventilation system is good - the air is not humid and it doesn't smell of chlorine. It was very busy during the week but we' re still relaxing. Towels and bathrobes are changed daily, including a children's bathrobes. We tried the laundry service and they left us speachless. Everything washed, ironed fold nicely and with amaizing aroma. Our vacations always have pros and cons, even when we are happy in general, but there were hardly any remarks or anything to irritate us here in Lucky Bansko.

The hotel in everything else but not a luxury one.
We spent there 3 nights.
The rooms: The first night we were in apartment standard plus- no air conditioner in the bedroom, no mosquito net on the windows. We were unable to sleep. For the next 2 nights we moved to executive apartment which had air conditioner. However, the whole hotel is too dark.
The breakfast: the restaurant where the breakfast was served is situated on level 0 ( underground). No daylight. There is very poor artificial light. However, the restaurant is dark. Almost no fresh fruits and vegetables.
The SPA: the outdoor “swimming pool” is ridiculous. It has a hot tube size.
The indoor swimming pool is too small for many guests. If there are more than 3 or 4 guests it is impossible to swim. It smelled very unpleasant.
The indoor hot tube was very dirty. I have uploaded pictures.
We have been in much better places in the region.
For example Hot Springs Medical & Spa Hotel offers much better experience, food and spa center.
We were unhappy with our stay.

We checked in last week at the Lucky Bansko hotel, I must add it’s difficult to find, it’s not the best location. There was no one at reception we waited like five or eight minutes before somebody came to check us in, she was very pleasant she ask us if we had a reservation etc. I checked in room 305. The room was Okay, a little outdated to my taste most of the hotels in Bansko seem to avoid spending to upkeep. The restaurant in the evening it was good. However, the breakfast was terrible. I had the worst eggs Benedict I have ever tried anywhere. First time I’ve been served Benedict with lettuce, tomatoes and covered with dressing. The hollandaise was atrocious not bad just atrocious. It’s obvious the Chef needs training on how to make hollandaise. The breakfast buffet does not exist, they only have a menu, they had a small area with a coffee machine, hot tea, water & juice ( not fresh) no danish or croissants. I guess you need to order. Fresh juice is four euros. Overall the hotel is fine a bit too colorful for my taste in the lobby, Bollywood style..
I’ll try it again if I visit Bansko.

Outright the best hotel not only in Bansko, but probably in Bulgaria as well. Amazing service in all aspects one can think of - the rooms are super clean and cozy, the SPA offers a huge range of stuff you can try like different saunas, ice room, ice bath, indoor and outdoor pools etc. And of course, super friendly and helpful staff - something you don't often get in Bulgaria, unfortunately, so it makes an even stronger impression when a hotel shows you what hospitality actually means.
Extra points go for the vegan breakfast and the fact that all COVID measures and guidelines are followed (two other things that unfortunately most hotels in Bulgaria neglect).
So cheers, guys, keep it up and thanks for the amazing experience! Would definitely visit again. :))
