Stylish stairways take you to mezzanines, apartment, double and triple rooms with beautiful views of the mountain and its majestic peaks, and the old town of Bansko. Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 5 nights for the ski season at just over £11 (yes £11) per night!
Clean and comfortable rooms with en-suite. Good in-room safe and hotel staff were excellent.
We would have a couple of drinks at the bar before heading out.
Also opted for the brekkie which was 8 lev each and had very good choice of hot and cold food
Its about 20 min walk from the Gondola but they do a shuttle service should you need it.
Only grumble was sometimes the water in the shower was luke warm.
Other than that great little place for the money.

The hotel offers excellent value for money. Spacious clean room, delicious breakfast, kind hosts and all this in a quiet close to the center street. There is a nice supermarket and a healthy juice bar around the corner. Avoid the massive lift queue in the morning by getting a ride in the hotel shuttle to one of the chairlifts above the Gondola!

The hotel is run and managed by the mother, son and his girlfriend. Very friendly people. They prepared special Bulgarian delicacies for dinner everyday of our stay. Very accommodating and friendly people. Highly recommend this place to anyone going to Bansko for sightseeing or Skiing.

Great service and staff. Very friendly on welcoming and gave us constant lift services at any time of asking. Cleaners came in most days which was pleasant to come back to. Only a short walk to any of the main restaurants and to the ski gondola.

Stayed at the Bisev for w/c 21 jan 06. This hotel has just 8 rooms, but is family run and it shows in the decor and cleanliness.
It is a good 10 - 15 minute walk from the gondola (and main eating / drinking places), not something to be attempted in ski gear, but they have a free crappy minibus (which is all that you need in Bulgaria, the roads are of the standard of pot-holed farm tracks in the main!) to take you up and back to the gondola.
Very clean rooms and bathrooms, they even cleaned the balcony daily, not somewhere we ventured at all considering the temperature never rose above minus 5c.
Mini-bar quite entertaining, in that it was cheap, 30p for a can of coke and other soft drinks, a pound for everything else, including 0.2l of local vodka.
The hotel itself is up a road which can't fit coaches, so you'll need to get your own gear up the road or get some help from the hotel.
Within the 'back garden' it has a secure out-house for storing your ski's, boots, equipment etc, which had a heater in when we were there to help dry out wet ski boot inners.
Breakfast was ok, but the 'cookies and coffee' each day at 5pm was spot on after a day on the slopes. Another 1 pound well spent, it usually comprised home made cake or biscuits and a hot drink.
Don't be put off by the 2 star rating if you are looking for a comfortable clean friendly hotel. Don't stay here if you'd prefer to never leave the hotel though, as it has few amenities. But we were there to ski.

I would just firstly like to say that I do actually recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a cheap getaway, and all in all I had alot of fun.
Hotel:
The hotel room was immaculate! I could not fault the cleanliness of the rooms at all. The decor of the entire place was nice too. The food however was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, the quality was quite nice, but the portion sizes simply did not suit people who had been exercising all day. We found ourselves going out to pubs and buying entire pizzas to fill us up (though at £2.80 for a whole pizza, it's not that much of a problem). I also found the staff there to be quite helpful, though their customer service could have been better.
Night life:
Not really for clubbers, though it does have one or two places to go to. Night life is fairly quiet but there are some good Irish and English bars nearby that serve cheap food and drink (A large plate of Garlic bread for 70p or a large beer for £1.20 odd).
With that said the Hotel has a happy hour which serves cheap cocktails and beers, though there's nothing really to do in the designated seating areas of the hotel.
Slopes:
I suggest going in February or March, as half the slopes were closed in January. Slopes mainly for beginners and intermediates, which suited us fine. Lifts up and down the mountain had some waits, but you weren't waiting ridiculous times.
Equipment Hire / Lessons:
The equipment was good and did its job, but I would not recommend the lessons. We did the 4 hours a day for 6 days and found that this was too much. As for the instructors, they either looked very bored and were rubbish teachers, or were very friendly but spoke awful English and were therefore rubbish teachers. They can tell you the correct technique for certain things, but do not have the capacity to tell you where you going wrong. Therefore you might as well just print the techniques out as it's the same effect.
Overall - I enjoyed the holiday and liked the resort, but I would not go back.

We stayed at this gem of a hotel between the 24/12 - 31/12.
There are only 9 rooms, which meant attention to detail was superb. The rooms were spotless, with great views of the Pirin mountains.
The service provided by hotel was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, we were always greeted with a smile.
The shuttle service to and fro the Gondala were effortless, they were regular and always on time.
The food was fantastic, cereals, toast and cooked every morning. You were then given a slip to complete for your evening meal which had several choices. We ate out a couple of times as we wanted to try out a couple of traditional Bulgarian mehanas (restaurants) these are a must as they are soo welcoming and cheap.
The area of the hotel couldn't be in a better location, 5 minute walk and your in the traditional old town, 10 minutes and your in the new town and by the gondola. We found the old town far superior to new town, as it's traditional and alot more cheaper.
This was our first skiing holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates a small, family oriented environment. We would definatly return to Bansko and would only consider staying at the Bisev.

me and my husband and another couple stayed at hotel bizev bulgaria last week and found the hotel, staff, food and rooms brilliant, your a short mini bus ride away from gondola which is free at any time with the hotel even though they say they have certain times! but its only a fifteen minute walk. your 2 streets away from the main drag of town where youll find lovely restaurants and bars and a few shops. down falls to holiday the queue for the lift pass was a free for all, know correct queue system very rude and arrogant russians turks and germans next is the queue for gondola get there before 8.30am or leave till 12pm as its a free for all again, all english must forget manors and be as rude as the others or you will be waiting all day long! not much for the beginner definately a intermediates ski resort blues are reds! would not go again due to steepness of slopes in our party there were 3 beginners so we got a little board.....very cheap wouldnt go again but a must for the intermediates.

Went on a family break with my children skiing, met some lovely people in this small family run hotel. The room was big and airy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, short minibus journey to the gondola. The breakfast was great, and i thought the evening meal was fine - the kids sometimes struggled with the menu - but it's very cheap to eat out in Bansko if you go local. They could benefit from having a room by room boot shelf!! as my son's boots went walkabout on their own!! Major problem with Bansko - don't go when the Russia Christmas is on between 7-14 Jan because they are extremely rude and pushy - they cheat the queue at the gondala and it can take 2 hours to get up to the top. My advice - get on the first bus at 8a.m. and put someone in the queue while you pick up your ski equipment. When your up there the snow is fantastic - The instructors are well informed, friendly and have extellent english - have a great holiday. Love to everyone who I met there - my firemen friends, breakfast buddies Rick, Dave and James, helen and the boys etc.,

We are very happy that you decided to stay at Bizev hotel for your winter vacation.
Every Christmas dinner is special for us. We serve turkey with a side of patotas. Everything is freshly cooked. The dinner is accompanied with champaigne, candles and bits of bulgarian tradition:) As music we are playing christmas classics. Bansko has its party side as well. So if you prefer a night out, we will let you know the best places in town.
Looking forward to see you.
