The best ski hotel in Bansko, within walking distance of the gondola, the most comfortable for Skier, families, friends and couples. Our third time in this amazing hotel, always fun to return to a familiar place, to a high standard and a smiling and helpful staff. This time (me and my husband) came to a ski holiday in the midst of the Corona virus crisis. Thankfully the level of hygiene at the hotel was very meticulous so we felt very safe. The staff are wearing a mask and gloves all the time, and in every corner you have Hygienic gel. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was very spacious and luxurious, fun to return to such a warm and cozy room after a frozen day on the ski slopes, but I can promise you that all the rooms are beautiful, large and well design. We stayed at the hotel on a half board basis, and tried its three excellent restaurants. The buffet at the Gallery is suitable for everyone, international dishes, everyone will find here what to eat. The Japanese restaurant Sushi & Teppanyaki was, in a word, "wow", talented chefs prepare the food for you in front of your eyes, while making exciting explanations, and funny jokes - thank you Ivan for an unforgettable meal. I wrote a separate review of the restaurant. The third was the best Italian restaurant in Bulgaria for 2020 - "come prima", one of the most talented chefs, stylish food, surprising and very tasty! Spas was our waiter and he is so kind and proffesional. The most delicious lasagna and onion soup I have ever eaten. The hotel's spa is perfect after a day of skiing, a selection of saunas, an indoor and outdoor hot tub, and a heated indoor pool. There is also a heated outdoor pool, but we arrived on a particularly frozen weekend, so we did not dare to go out with swimsuits in the evening, well done to the braves. Behind all this goodness stands a lovely person, hotel manager Christian Ruge, and his professional staff, see that everyone does their job with love for what they do, always with a smile and a good energies, which I have not encountered in many hotels in the world, and I travel a lot, so what That I write definitely touches me and it is important to me that you know that good human relations between the hotel staff, are what make the place so special and it does not matter how many stars the hotel is rated. And now that we are home, already missing and looking forward to return back ,and for now it's good to have a lot of photos that will remind us of the unforgetable weekend.…
This hotel has been our safe haven away from all of the madness caused by 2020. Thanks to the deep compliance with COVID-19 safety measures achieved by Kempinski Bansko's team, my family and I felt safe and had the most magical winter holiday one could dream of! Is it safe to go there? In my opinion, yes, it is. Guests are being given face covering at check-in and required to wear it in most areas of the hotel (except at Kempinski Spa), disposable gloves are being provided at breakfast so one would not touch anything around the food stations with bare hands, there are hand sanitizers everywhere in the hotel and you are being provided with small bottles of it even in your room. Restaurants are open, tables are at reasonable distance from one another. We felt safe throughout our stay. What to do? Hit the slopes - the Gondola lift station is just around the corner and Pirin mountain offers excellent conditions for winter sports. One could even buy a VIP ski pass at the hotel and avoid the long wait. Relax and unwind at Kempinski Spa - there is something for every taste. We loved swimming in the outdoor heated pool. There is a lifeguard on duty to ensure the indoor and outdoor pools are safe. It must be utterly challenging to run a hotel in the turbulent times we all live in. Yet the team behind the scenes is doing a fantastic job at not just surviving, but thriving in the most difficult circumstances. We were delighted to meet Mr Christian Ruge, General Manager, for a brief conversation while keeping social distance and wearing masks. Well done for being there, welcoming guests in the lobby in the "business as usual" manner, staying positive and not hiding somewhere. In fact I loved how positive and cheerful everyone was - from the check-in team to the cleaning lady and the bellboys. Our heartfelt thanks go to Mrs Roza Kyutukchieva, Guest Relations Manager, for always looking after guests in the best possible way and ensuring their stay is one to remember. Thank you to Kempinski's Ladies in Red team for preparing our room accordingly. Did you know that prior to arrival guests have a special pillow menu to choose from? Going the extra mile is something Kempinski are excellent at. No wonder we love coming back every few months...! We…
This is our last evening at this hotel- it is very dated inside. Staff are extremely rude- they don’t seem to be there to help you and seem to see the guests as a burden. When we checked in they informed us that there was horse riding available and then another told us that there wasn’t any available as the season was over- just an example of the inconsistencies and lack of knowledge amongst the staff. We waited for the lift and the bell boy didn’t let us go first, and just took the lift leaving us to wait. We also called reception for more water and were told we had already been given our “allocated two bottles for the day” and would not be given any more (in a very brisk and abrupt manner). Never stayed in a 5* property where it seems to be such a chore to provide a positive experience for the customer. Yes, it’s very cheap to stay here but it’s clear why.…
I had heard amazing things about this hotel and I must say staying there felt as if I was at the wrong place. Personnel was very polite, helpful and nice. Room was relatively clean and so were the common areas. By no means can I say it was impeccably clean though. The interior desperately needs renovation if the hotel wants to live up to its customers expectations. Furniture, walls, sockets and switches are worn out and simply don’t give the feeling of a cozy 5-star mountain hotel as they should. Beds are rather basic and not very comfortable. I did overhear other people discussing that over breakfast as well. Restaurants’ furniture can also use some renovation and definitely more natural fabrics for the table cloths. Valet parking was a nice touch. Hope next time in the area I see an improvement. …
Kempinski Bansko is by far my favorite hotel in Bulgaria! I try to go there at least once a year and each time I stay in Kempinski I'm not disappointed. Friendly staff, amazing breakfast, wonderful SPA center... And the list goes on and on. The latest feature - the late check out - is something that I love as I always hated leaving before noon on that last day of the my vacation/trip. Now with the late check out me and my family can fully enjoy every day of our stay, including the last one. Because all of the above mentioned I'm looking forward to my next stay at Kempinski. Keep up the good work guys, keep being awesome and see you soon!
