The hotel is located in the town of Bansko, ideal if you practice winter sports. It has a lot of facilities, swimming pool, spa, gym and nursery service. There are also bedrooms of different categories as well as apartments. Dinner was self service, drinks not included. Breakfast was difficult as there was a school party of young children it was also self service, we encountered large queues to get it. Bed mattress could do with changing, it was shaped in the middle. Overall average ski resort hotel, near to skiing facilities, but it is a long wslk down into the town of Bansko whivh has some nice buildings.

Just come back from a great week in Bansko and were started at the Casa Karina. Overall the hotel is really nice and the staff were friendly. Our room was really lovely, clean and a great size and there was a great amount of storage. We booked half board and the first two days the salads were great but the hot dishes were not that appetising and barely warm. We are vegetarians and the food wasn't very well labelled so hard to know if we're could easy it or not. After three days a lot of the residents had left and they reduced the food options by half and there appeared to be no warm vegetarian options. Breakfast was ok but after the first three days they went down hill, not horrendous but plenty of room for improvement. They take the water dispenser away at meal time so you have to buy drinks but no one approaches you so i think you have to go to the bar to order them, strange considering that they would make money from you ordering drinks. We decided to eat out most nights. The spa area had good facilities, the pool was a bit too cold and the floor was really wet and slippery so take flip flops or sliders. We really liked our room and beds were made daily and comfortable. It's in a great location for the gondola and close to several ski hire shops. We would stay here again despite the niggles overall it's still good value for money and a nice hotel but it would be great if they could improve s few things.

Stayed here in March 19 with a group of friends on a skiing holiday. Booked through Hotels.com but us also available on Booking.com. Paid around £230 for a twin for 7 nights. Didn’t realise until we arrived that it was half board (total surprise as doesn’t really say that on the booking sites - proper unexpected bonus). Check in was easy, gave us a list of amenities and explained when dinner and breakfast times were. The room was fairly well equipped. Wasn’t anywhere near luxurious, beds were pretty standard thin mattress and duvet but they were changed and made every day. Room had satellite tv, fridge, kettle, plenty of sockets, bedside lights, big wardrobe and hanging space, en suite bathroom with toilet and nice powerful shower. Towels were changed every day. Our balcony faced back behind the hotel but I guess someone’s had to. Seemed every room had a balcony. Hotel dining room was large and catered for many many people. Probably too many if everyone came down at once as the tables often looked too close together. Large buffet area where plentiful foods were laid out for you to choose from. Breakfasts ranged from fruits, cheeses and hams to eggs, bacon, beans, breads and toasts and there was even a lady cooking fresh pancakes on demand. Didn’t eat the evening meals myself as I chose to go out but was told that there were plenty of steaks and veg to choose from each night. The hotel has a free spa on site fir residents which has a pool, sauna, steam room, showers, changing area and a gym. The spa proper offers ranges of treatments. I had a balance massage and a Turkish hammam bath. Both were relaxing, at good prices too. Depending on what time of day you book depends on your discounted price. 1hr massage was about £30 to £35. Hotel also has a ski rental shop on site. Helpful English speaking staff throughout. I’m English but I dare say the staff speak many other languages too. Ski rental all in boots, skis (differing levels) poles and helmet at about £30 for 5 days. Right next door to the ski hire is a drying room for you to leave your kit in overnight. This leads directly into the hotel foyer so is locked at night for security. Left my own boots there all week with no issues. There is a bar area. A pool and games area, an outside garden bbq area and what seemed to be (although I didn’t venture in there) a kids entertainment disco room. I can only assume this was some type of kids club/ crèche as it was on most early evenings but I didn’t go in as the kids dance music didn’t draw me. Robes could be hired from reception at a really cheap price for use in room and the spa (no belts thoughBeware the 2lv slippers though, very flimsy and break very easily, definitely disposable. The hotel is situated one road back from the main drag so it was a 60m walk across the car park in the morning to the main road then about 70m down to the road to the ski gondola lift. Perfectly situated as it was close enough not to exhaust you walking with your kit to the lifts but far enough away from the main streets not to be disturbed by the evening dance music emanating from the main clubs & bars (made that mistake last year and got very little sleep.) slept great this time, no disturbing noise at all. I will be using Casa Karina again when I go back to Bansko. Great price for a good standard and plenty of amenities.

Stayed here for a week on March 17th. Got this hotel half board for very cheap. First impressions of the hotel was very positive as the reception area was very clean and bright. On making our way to our room 4th floor the hotel suddenly looked very run down and in need of some improvement. The room we got for 2 people was basic and not very inviting. The decor was outdated and the wardrobes etc was shabby with the handles missing. Bathroom was similar with a fan that made a horrendous noise when switched on. Overall the rooms are very disappointing but another couple we travelled with who were on another block had a much better room. Must be pot luck. The food is just ok but a bit of advice get down early for both breakfast and Dinner as Food can become cold. Choice is limited but always found something to eat but not the best of quality. There is nothing to drink at dinner so bring your wallet as you have to use the bar if you need something to wash the food down. Staff at this hotel are not very forthcoming but I found that everywhere we went in the entire resort so don't expect a friendly welcome. Myself and the group I travelled with are not fussy people but found this hotel below standard even though we got it for a great price. I suppose its the old cliche you get what you pay for. On checking out we sat in the foyer waiting on our taxi when the manager approached us to say we were not allowed our suitcases beside us and that we had to leave them outside the front door. Have you ever heard the like of it? Although we got this hotel for a great price I would not stay here again.
