Owners very friendly and helpful. Free tea/coffee any time. Wonderful view, very quiet, easy walk to the old castle and the old town centre. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom a little small, but this is a traditional house. Several inexpensive and good restaurants nearby with traditional food. Breakfast and wifi so-so, but greatly outweighed by the positives. Take a taxi from... More

If you go to Gjirokaster, stay at Kotoni. Vita and her husband were there to welcome us when we arrived, answer all our questions, give us tips on where to eat and what to see. We left the guidebook at home and just followed their advice and had a great time. A genuine Albanian experience that we will never forget.

My stay in Kotoni is ok- room is a bit small and the bathroom is smaller. I'm now staying in Berat and with the same price my room is definitely newer and bigger. That being said, the owner was very helpful and kind. They asked the cab driver to call the furgon to get me a seat, prepared breakfast to... More

There is no word to describe how welcomed I felt at this hostel. Vita and his husband are such great and inspiring persons. Their success and humility make this hostel even more beautiful. The spot is great, the house is traditional, way better than any other modern hostels.

Great little guesthouse in an old Gjirokaster building way up high steep streets. There is a little parking area for your car outside the guesthouse. Tje view from the windows are fantastic. Clean rooms with plenty hot water. Loads of carpets on the floor which personally isn't to my liking as I can only imagine what is lurking in those... More

Gjirokaster was a simple quaint town and this B&B fit right in. The room was decent, had AC, the wifi worked most of the time, and everything was clean. The breakfast was fine but nothing spectacular, hard boiled eggs and toast. The hosts were so helpful and friendly. They looked out for us and made sure we had everything we... More

Of course, the place is really authentic, but the hosts are the best! They are generous and cute with the guests and both members of the matrimony are in my mind like two of the best people that we met in the trip.

This is a fantastic little B&B located in the old city of Gjirokastra, at the base of the castle. It is run in the 220 year old home of Haxhi and Vita, a husband and wife team who are lifelong residents of Gjirokastra. My partner and I stayed here over 2 nights in March 2015. PROS - VALUE - As... Our whole experience at kotoni b&b was fantastic and I'm convinced you won't find better! The place itself is over 200 years old and full of character with an authentic Albanian feel. The location is fantastic, right in the old town everything under 5 minutes away. Breakfast was delicious as was the mountain tea! What really made this place great... More
