Eda was really helpful finding us a way to go to the border at a really earlier time. The room was ok for us since we only stayed one night. Breakfast was also ok. Its a two minutes walk to the bazar.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at Kotoni B&B. Extremely friendly, welcoming and professional owner, beautiful city full of interesting places and sights, and culinary delights, even by the high standards Albania offers in these matters. Kotoni B&B, built in an old, respectfully renovated mansion, lies in the best part of the city, every room offering a nice view of... More

This long-established accomodation was one of the first private hotels opened in the city after the end of Communist rule in the early 1990s. Our room was comfortable, air-conditioned, but a little cramped. The bathroom functioned, but one or two fittings were slightly fragile. These are not complaints, but merely observations. Our hosts were kind and friendly. Breakfast, which was... More

Beware! A Google search told us this place was permanently closed. Not true! This is a 300 year old Ottoman House that provides a warm welcome, a delicious Continental breakfast Albanian style and the chance to stay in a place full of character. Our room is snug and cozy with a king size bed plus a single bed. Lots of... More

Our recent stay at this over 200 year-old Ottoman mansion was very pleasant. Our room was small, but very comfortable and nicely decorated. The ceiling mounted heater kept us warm on the cool mornings. The location is great with views of the old town and the castle and is close to everything. We enjoyed our breakfast which was served in... More

We had booked in advance, so we felt we had to stay here. The room is tiny, the madrasses are completely worn out. The bathroom is very cold. You can choose between hot and noisy or cold in your room during the night The breakfast room is so cold, so you are just thinking of being finished and get out.... More

Owners very friendly and helpful. Free tea/coffee any time. Wonderful view, very quiet, easy walk to the old castle and the old town centre. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom a little small, but this is a traditional house. Several inexpensive and good restaurants nearby with traditional food. Breakfast and wifi so-so, but greatly outweighed by the positives. Take a taxi from... More

If you go to Gjirokaster, stay at Kotoni. Vita and her husband were there to welcome us when we arrived, answer all our questions, give us tips on where to eat and what to see. We left the guidebook at home and just followed their advice and had a great time. A genuine Albanian experience that we will never forget.

My stay in Kotoni is ok- room is a bit small and the bathroom is smaller. I'm now staying in Berat and with the same price my room is definitely newer and bigger. That being said, the owner was very helpful and kind. They asked the cab driver to call the furgon to get me a seat, prepared breakfast to... More

There is no word to describe how welcomed I felt at this hostel. Vita and his husband are such great and inspiring persons. Their success and humility make this hostel even more beautiful. The spot is great, the house is traditional, way better than any other modern hostels.
