This is a beautifully restored hotel- be sure to look at the ceilings. It has a great location right at the foot of the Bazaar. The rooms are small, but comfortable. Service was exceptional, and overnight laundry was only 10 Euro for a large bag.

The Argjiro is situated in the center of town yet the rooms were super quiet. I don’t understand the negative reviews since everything was super clean and beautifully remodeled after a mansion at the turn of the last century. Even the room ceilings were ornate and the bar is a work of art. They make awesome cappuccinos ☕️! The WiFI was the best we have experienced on vacation and the staff solicitous to our every need. Everything worked in our room including the AC. We strongly recommend the Hotel Argjiro.

The Argjiro is in the Old Town of Gjirokaster, a solid building of indeterminate age. When we saw that our room wasn’t large our hearts fell a little, but they climbed back in place when we discovered that the windowsills were so deep that each one could hold an open case with no difficulty. The bathroom was piddling and small. On opening the door you had to edge your way in, or you’d fall into the shower cubicle. Still, we had a view over the square. The safe wouldn’t open, but a quick word with the receptionist and this was put right. Good overall, but after four days in ALbania we still hadn't had a hotel breakfast worth a damn.

This is a nice clean modern hotel with a good breakfast. However our room was in the corner and felt like a cupboard. Not well designed at all. When we got into our room the temperature said 29 degrees so we put the aircon on straight away as it was a 40 degree day. We waited 30 minutes and it still hadn't cooled down so we went down to reception to tell them. They turn it down manual there and they said they would turn it down from 24 to 22 and wait. We waited another 20 minutes and still no cooler. I went back down to reception and told them again and they said they would turn it to 21. Half hour later still no cooler. We went down again to be told it would be put to 22 which is warmer which i didn't really understand. We then went out on a tour and left the aircon on and 3 hours later we got back and it was still the same. They told us they couldn't move us as they were full and they couldn't do anything else. They didn't even come to our room and look at it. So we had a hot night and didn't sleep too well. Other members of our group said their rooms weren't that cool but not as hot as ours.
