Mahora was selected as the second destination of our honeymoon journey which was the most unforgettable experience which will stay in our memories forever. After seven hour drive from belihuloya we both were extremely tired untill we got the warm welcome from the mahora team with a cup of koththamali , wet towels and strict sanitation methods which ensured 100 ℅ safety and security for us under this covid 19 conditions. After the initial introduction we both were guided to our mahora tent, which was freely upgrated from big game camp I had booked initially. The camp was very spacious, clean & with all the facilities required specifically designed to feel the the exact wild stay which we always wanted. After having a shower & a short nap we were guided to the dinner with a beautiful bon-fire and BBQ, lighted with candles and lanterns which brought us to a feeling of another world. The safari at wilpattu was planned for the next day which was a full day one as suggested by sameera to get the most opportunity in the forest to sight animals. We left the camp at 5 am in the morning and spend the whole day inside the forest. Breakfast,Lunch and plenty of water had carried by the mahora team which we had nothing to worry but to enjoy the safari.safari was amazing as we sighted all the animals we expected to see. Sameera and Puwathara ( naturalists : our guides) both are highly enthusiastic guys with great technical knowledge and love to the nature plus really nice presentation talent. They took a great effort to saw us a leapord which was really appreciated. We saw two leapords and stay watching Cleopatra ( a young leapord mother to 2 newly born kids) for almost half an hour which was the most unforgettable memory of our whole journey. We also blessed to sighted a bear,a fox, many deer, a large herd of elephants and many more birds. The two day stay with mohora team was great and recommend for anyone who loves the animals and nature and required a real escape from this busy world. Thanks sameera, puwathara, nalin and dinesh for make our journey a most unforgettable experience. Charith & Vimansa.

We went as 2 families including kids. Originally we have reserved “Big Game Camp” but hotel offered us a free upgrade to “Mahoora Tented Safari Camps” which was great and comfortable for our families. It is an uncommon experience than we going to a traditional hotel or resort. We all welcomed followed by an instruction of the place and Do's and Don'ts since we are almost round the corner of Wilpattu National Park. The tents are nice and clean and it divided into 3 sections kind of living area, room and attached bathroom. Bathrooms are bit smaller but can manage it. The basic amenities are available. There is no TV or Minibar. The food starting from lunch we served traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry and it was tasty even we are not in favor of rice and curry. The dinner was lovely with served BBQ and few side dishes followed by bonfire. After the dinner hotel has taken us nigh walk around the area which we can see few birds, insects etc… The overall experience was great and happy.

What an amazing weekend dished out by the amazing folks at Mahoora. We reached the camp at Midnight (Two hours later than expected) and were welcomed so well. Sameera was absolutely brilliant to listen to and kept us captivated with his stories and knowledge Sadun & Chamara were super nice and always willing to join us for a chat and a laugh. Harshana's cooking is out of this world and super tasty they even went to the extent of getting us fresh fish from the lake coz we were craving! Our game drives were made more fun with Sameera and his amazing sense of humour! The tents were spacious, comfortable and very homely. Honestly hated to even head back home. Looking forward to go there again and again and again! Thank you team Mahoora!!!!!

Wilpattu, what a place to stay!!!! Our Elite tent was very comfortable, spacious and fully equiped although bathroom needs some upgrade. We stayed 3 nights, had 2 half day and 2 full day safaris + night walk and nightdrive. We were kept very busy what we appreciated very much. Breakfast and lunch in the park during our full day safaris were of excellent quality as well as the 7 course evening dinners with fresh and tastefull cocktails to start around a pleasant camp fire. Our senior naturalist Sameera was great, we were happy to experience his expertise in safaris and his passion for wildlife. He made a list for us with all the animals/birds we saw and this list was 2 pages long at the end. We had a very good sighting of a slot bear for more than 1/2 hour, very close to the road, leopard sightings were also great. The safari cars are comfortable, very important because you are sitting almost the whole day. The number of safari cars in the park is limited, this was very important for us

Dear rudileona Thank you for your kind review. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Mahoora Wilpattu. You are one of the luckiest guests who had a chance to view most of the animals found in the area. There are instances where some guest doesn't get the chance to see them except for the bird varieties. Glad its a memorable stay for you. It is heartwarming to know you enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you again and hope to see you in your future travels as well.

Our stay at Mahoora Tented Safari Camp was an exceptional experience due to the unwavering commitment of the dedicated staff there. Sadly Wilpattu was closed due to the pandemic, but we were treated to:fabulous bird watching experiences; a night drive to spot nocturnal animals such as a fishing cat, slow loris, spotted chevrotain and a jungle cat amongst others; and an in-depth cooking lesson with lots of details about the health-giving properties of the ingredients. The food was superb, beautifully presented and so tasty. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here as it was an unforgettable experience.
