Travelers' Choice
Located in the heart of Arkansas' finest river and trail scenery, Buffalo Outdoor Center has a long-standing reputation for offering quality log cabin rentals in extraordinary Buffalo National River country. We're also the area's leading outfitter for float trips on the Buffalo National River, a pristine national park offering beautiful scenic seclusion. And, we offer Arkansas' only true wilderness zip line adventure, a fun-filled 2-hr tour that's great for the young and the young at heart! Couples and families join us year 'round for adventure getaways that are tops in extraordinary scenic beauty and, most of all, great fun! We have cabins in a variety of price ranges, from family cabins to romantic cabins for two. Several of our cabins feature outdoor hot tubs with sweeping 30-mile views of Ozark Mountain country. Hot tub cabins book early, so if you have certain dates in mind, it is never too soon to call and book. And, while we're in the beautiful middle of nowhere, several of our cabins offer free wifi for those who still wish to remain in touch with folks back home. We've just opened a new 5,000 square-foot retail center, featuring great souvenirs and quality outdoor apparel and gear. Got an appetite? Let our deli build you a mile-high sandwich crafted with fantastic locally-baked breads, natural meats, cheeses and fresh veggies! When it comes to adventure activities, we can keep you as busy as you want to be! Our zip line is hugely popular and open March through November. When it comes to hiking or canoeing, there's none finer in Arkansas and arguably mid-America. Elk watching is also a popular activity. The Ponca area is home to a large elk herd which roams the Boxley Valley and can frequently be seen from the comfort of your car. The best seasons for elk viewing are fall and winter.

Every where we went was beautiful and all the staff were friendly and helpful. All facilities were super clean ( and I’m OCD so that’s saying a lot). The crew working the zip lines were awesome, fun, and patient, and made my first time zip lining memorable. Jeremy and Matt were amazing and Rachel and Josh were so friendly. Even the guys keeping the grounds were amazing, specifically Chad who helped my husband and I with a vehicle issue and was super nice about it. I would recommend the BOC to anyone and everyone!

BOC never disappoints! The cabins on the mountain have amazing views from the deck and hot tub! The newer cabins like Morning Glory is spectacular with the wall of windows overlooking the valley. The staff are always kind, friendly, and helpful. We’ve been going to BOC for years and it keeps getting better.

Hubby and I stayed at the Morning Glory this past week. Talk about an elaborate place! I didn’t want to leave! You walk in and see a wall of windows looking at a spectacular view! The cabin itself is amazingly beautiful and spacious and clean! The kitchen was very well equipped. Oh…the shower in the bathroom!! I can’t even explain the experience in that! You have to stay there to see for yourself! I spent the majority of my time on the deck! We totally enjoyed the hot tub while looking at the view! My husband wished for a gas grill, was his only complaint! Lol. I was out back holding a flashlight by the time the charcoals got hot enough for our burgers to cook, but we had to laugh! The staff was so nice. Hubby had some questions and the maintenance man was over immediately! What a nice kid!! The lights on the deck didn’t light up when we got there, and here they were on a sensor, so when it got dark enough they would! Duh! Lol. The light was on in the water heater closet also when we got there so he asked him about that and he had to look too for it, and it was tucked way behind someplace. But a very, very nice guy! They gals in the office were just as nice. Then, it was not their fault but, sadly, there was a water line leak and the cabins were loosing water and were going to run out (probably because I took such a long shower! Lol) so we had to move to different cabins. The staff hated it as much as we did, but they were very accommodating and made if very right with us. We thank Shay again, for working with us so hard, finding us a cabin, and adjusting our time and making it very fair with us!! We appreciate it since things like that are beyond your control. We moved to Water Falls cabin for the last night and that was a cute cabin! We felt like we were roughing it after being in the Morning Glory Cabin, although the Water Falls cabin was very nice also! It didn’t have a dishwasher! Lol. No big deal at all! It also had a nice big deck with a beautiful view. Both cabins were so private!! We enjoyed our time at Buffalo Outdoor Center Cabins so much….we are booking another stay in a couple months! We are fortunate to only be about 3 hours away.

We hosted an Arkansas Enduro Race on the Buffalo Outdoor Center Trails. BOC's cabins cannot be beat. They pay intense attention to detail to make the cabins well kept, beautiful, unique, and cozy. Every stay I've had in a BOC cabin has been spectacular. And the Views! The views just can't be beat. Big Sky cabin especially!

The cabin…SMELLED horrible!!!! Nothing but smoke/firewood smell!!! The wood needs to be sealed or something; it was nasty! We stayed in Crossbow; upon arrival we were told we could float AT ALL; next morning we, checked no problem; the “teens” that run the front desk need to learn manners and how to say hello, and thank you. The float service was great; SKIP the cabin rentals and find somewhere nicer….for price…..and we had to wash all dishes, take out trash and strip bed linens….it was a rip off…..water smelled horrible….sulphate…smelling; no fire pit either; we won’t be going back
