Detailed Reviews
A beautifully created apartment. Absolutely wonderful bathroom with such invention, the most technologically advanced bathroom you could want. The huge bed was so welcoming and comfortable, and three tvs all in well appointed spots.
For me the fly in the ointment was that there was no tea, and you had to take water from the bathroom, there's nowhere to get fresh water. I wonder if you could put a notice to say it's potable, ie drinking quality, water (generally bathroom water isn't), or a drum of water to make tea / coffee would work otherwise. I'm not a coffee drinker and I love a cup of tea, with milk, and for accommodation of this quality, I'd taken for granted that it would be there. And there was only enough milk for one cup of coffee. So that was a bit of a letdown.
It would be nice too, to know that all the restaurants in the immediate area would be closed on a Sunday afternoon. There is another part of town across the river and it had restaurants open, but we had to drive.
Overall this is a lovely place, but for the cost ( and there isn't breakfast of any type) it would be good to go that little extra and put necessities in the room

What a gem! They really have thought of everything you could possibly need or want to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable! The room was very spacious, extremely well appointed and very clean. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend this guesthouse for people on business or vacation - perfect for whatever your needs are.

This place was absolutely amazing. It may be the coolest place I have ever stayed. They thought of everything and spared no expense. If you have to go to Pocahontas you should treat yourself to this place. I have spent twice as much on a boring room that had none of the extras this place has.

Stayed here for the Eclipse. This place was absolutely beautiful. The renovation was top notch, with the perfect extra touch of posh features and amenities. Towel heaters, heated floors, jacuzzi tub...and a heated toilet seat! They even spoil you with 2 kinds of robes. All this and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've had at any place away from home.

Wonderful, nicely appointed rooms. The proprietor has thought of everything. We stayed in the Nancy Jones Suite. Just lovely. Beautiful large and comfortable bed. The best linen. Ice maker, bidet toilet, K cup coffee, nice view of the square, and more. Very reasonable. Far, far better than any hotel in the surrounding area, including Jonesboro.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Nancy Jones suite! Though it's in the oldest building in town, we've completely rehabilitated it and it's the newest addition to our Pocahontas lodging units. Hope you can return someday.

We arrived after dark in December - with snow, yes, there was snow in Pocahontas, Arkansas! However, our parking place and path to our room was shoveled and cleared.Having received the door code via e-mail, we were able to go right in to find a warm and VERY inviting apartment. A lovely living room area, dining table and comfortable chairs, full kitchen stocked with everything we would need to get started in the morning - coffee and tea, and a large bedroom with every comfort one could want. A washer and dryer with soap pods in the laundry room, and a bathroom more luxurious than any I have ever seen. Towels on a heated towel bar, the floor in front of the sink - heated, plenty of room for our necessities, large shower and tub, hair dryer on the wall, plenty of mirrors, and there is even a bidet!
Lesmeister Guesthouse is located 1/2 block from the Town Square with shops ringing the Square, including the barber shop and a very good Italian restaurant. Across the street from Lesmeister Guesthouse is Carrol's Variety Store. I cannot decide what was more interesting - the merchandise in the store or the proprietor.
If you are travelling from Branson to Memphis, a side trip to Pocahontas, Arkansas is a MUST DO and the Lesmeister Guesthouse is the best choice for lodging. I have no photos because I was too enthralled with the Guesthouse to pick up the camera!

+1
What an incredible find in this small southern town in Arkansas. We stayed in the Julia Dean downstairs "storefront" room.
I cannot describe how well thought-out our accommodations were, and it wasn't really a guest room at all, but a luxury apartment! It had a lovely sleigh bed in the bedroom, a huge bathroom with heated floor tiles, immaculate full sized kitchen, dining area and living room with leather sofa. There was even a washer and dryer for guests to use.
When we reserved our room online we received the door code and could come and go at our leisure. This is not a stuffy old B&B where the owners hover and make you feel uncomfortable. This is a beautifully decorated, stylish and comfortable place to stay. Everything is tasteful from the original artwork to the hand made Lesmeister coffee mugs for your morning cuppa! The kitchen has all the modern accoutrements. There is free Wi-Fi, and a desktop pc with printer should you need to use it. There are TV's in the living room, bedroom and even bathroom!
We had a lot of fun looking at all the little touches found in this guesthouse, from the etched Lesmeister wine glasses to the monogrammed fluffy bath robes in the closet. I looked and I looked and could find need for nothing, the owner has thought of it all!
Near the sofa there are brochures of things to see and do in the area. Make sure you check those out or you might miss something really neat! The owner has selected some of the greatest things you may find interesting in the area and put them together in a booklet for you.
I cannot recommend Lesmeister Guesthouse enough. I would not hesitate to rent both rooms for two couples or friends traveling together for a really fun getaway! It is one of a kind.

Finally, a nice place to stay in Pocahontas! We stayed in the Julia Dean guesthouse - a one level plan with full kitchen, gorgeous spa bath and private bedroom area. Everything was first class from the high quality bed linens, robes, bath products, televisions (3 of them!) to the fully equipped kitchen with everything you would ever need. These guest houses have been lovingly restored and have high original tin ceilings with every modern amenity. The owner makes it easy to check in - we are already checking our calendar to come back during the holidays for another stay!!!!

The guesthouse is a brand new addition to downtown Pocahontas. Patrick, the owner, has spared no expense to restore the Lesmeister building, built around the turn of the last century and convert it into two modern, luxurious, and environmentally conscious apartment units. The artwork on the walls is museum quality and the bathroom includes a nice jetted tub.
The appliances are full size and include refrigerator, stove, dishwasher along with a full accompaniment of flatware, glasses and dishes., There is a utility room with washer, dryer and television sets are in the living room, bedroom and bathroom.
The accommodations are not hosted, but very "user friendly." I decided to take a long weekend getaway on the spur of the moment, and knew I would arrive very late at night. This was not a problem because the door opens with an easy to use keypad, and the code for the lock was sent to me by email. There are just enough instructions in the guest book about setting the thermostat, logging in to the wifi, and operating the appliances.
A lamp turned on automatically just as I opened the front door. I was able to park on the street just a few steps from the door, and felt very safe in the apartment and around the town. Pocahontas is a delightful place to visit. I took a grand promenade around the town square complete with an old courthouse, the oldest barbershop in Arkansas, an old drug store complete with soda fountain, a history museum, several galleries, and artisans' shops.
I drove to Memphis to visit a friend on Sunday and was pleased to find that the 2 1/2 hour drive was almost all 4-lane controlled access highway. The town and the guesthouse are on my list to visit again.

The place is ok but the street at night is very dark. I went to the Italian place on the corner and stepped outside and noticed how dark the street was, I did not feel safe taking the short walk to the guesthouse.
The toilet has a fancy seat that does many things, but the contraption takes up too much space, they should just put a regular seat on the toilet. For those that have stayed there, they will know what I mean.
The TV at the end of the bed is way too low, they need to raise it. Overall is was good, and people leave some extra food behind that you can eat.

Jack, thanks for taking the time to post a good review regarding your stay at The Lesmeister. The City was contacted a couple of weeks ago regarding the street light burned out in front of the guesthouse, and the mayor says he has called the power company twice about getting it fixed. They promise to have it repaired by later this week. For years we've had nothing but compliments on the warm toilet seats. People love them. In fact, every year we get several contacts from our guests, asking where they can get one just like them. The toilet seats and heated bathroom floors get even more compliments than the jet tubs and heated towel warmers we installed. I agree that the wall-mounted TV in the Julia Dean apartment bedroom was a bit low. It was placed low so the modern look of the TV wouldn't detract from the historic look of the old building. But the TV has been raised higher since your visit, because it needed to be! Thanks again for taking the time to share your valuable thoughts. -Patrick

Yes, that will be OK as long as the dog is prevented from damaging our property. Enjoy your stay.
Sorry, I don't know. But I do know that Henry (Heinrich) Lesmeister's son worked as an architect in Jonesboro in the early 1900's. So Warren Leo MIGHT have been the grandson of Henry (it was Henry the man who built/owned the building in Pocahontas that now houses Lesmeister guesthouse).
