I really wish there were better lodging competitors in the area; maybe this place would up their "game." The hotel is undergoing renovation (exterior mostly when we were there). Luckily we ended up on the 3rd floor so I didn't really notice a musty/mildew-y smell that others report.
Basics are met. Clean room, sheets and towels. Working A/C. Good mini-fridge and microwave.
Bed was terribly hard. Amount of towels provided were minimal (1 hand towel, 2 bath towels). I found out later that the clean laundry was not ready (or maybe delivered?). Anyway, breakfast was apple or orange juice, coffee and a tray of sweets to choose from. Elevator was out of order for an afternoon. The housekeeping staff was even running up and down stairs to complete their duties (thank you Tinley and Haley for your friendliness and hustle to help us).

At least the title tells you how we felt heading back to Indiana for Christmas with the family. It was a very cold blustery night with snow on the road approaching midnight and we knew we did not want to drive all night. Coming into Pocahontas we saw this place with no other options around. We were grateful for the rest and this hotels placement.
Check-in was a bit strange. The young lady in charge of the check-ins had to climb over the counter to get into the back as she was visiting with others in the lobby. Apparently, she had locked herself out. That does give you pause to wonder if this is the proper person to give your information too, but we needed a room and no other options available we checked-in. Pricing was a bit high given the age of the property, it was on the same pricing level of Hampton’s without the amenities.
The room was clean. The noise level was quiet. The bathroom was aged. The hot water setting was immediate. Typically it is towards the back turn of the shower but this one is plumbed to be the first part of the shower turn on. Not a big deal but it took us some time to figure that nuance out. WE thought for a bit that their was no hot water in the shower. That strange area and showing some age were the only knocks we would have on this room however. We had a good night’s rest and out the door early the next morning.
The breakfast buffet was minimalistic. There was one but nothing to rave about except some good orange juice from the machine. Coffee was decent as well.
Overall, we were happy to find this place and would not hesitate to stay again. Cleanliness is our #1 priority.

This is a clean, affordable hotel. Staff was friendly.
It does have room for improvement. The breakfast was okay, especially at the price, but I'd be okay with paying more and having a better (more hot items) breakfast offering.
The biggest room for improvement was the rooms all had a musty, stale odor. We bought some Febreeze at WalMart and it helped, but it still had an unpleasant smell. At least two of our rooms had the musty smell.

Room wasn't clean. Found dirty socks, empty juice bottle, and gummy bears from previous occupants. In this time of Covid-19 and being in the hospitality business, the staff at this location seemed very nonchalant about their housekeeping crew's cleaning standards.

I would rather sleep in my car. There was a lot of different people walking around the hallways in the night. The noises from other rooms was appalling and the ac unit was obnoxious. The front desk person at check out refused to assist with any of my concerns including no receipt for the room, no coffee, and dirtiness of room.

We stayed in a king suite room 330 from 5.26.2022 through 5.29.2022. The entire staff was fantastic, and especially the housekeeper who did our room all 3 nights. Sadly I never did catch her name, but she was the best part of the whole stay. Her smile, demeanor, entire attitude just screamed "hospitality". She went out of her way to get my wife a set of newer sheets on our bed after I mentioned to her my wife had extremely sensitive skin, which made the last 2 nights much easier on my wife. And even though we try to have the kids pick up after themselves, 2 adults and 4 kids has to tear up a room more than normal, and the lady was just as friendly and sweet on day 3 when we'd run into her in the halls, as she was on day 1. Will be using Days Inn every time we come to Pokey! We've stayed at all 3 hotels in Pokey, this one by far wins the battle for us.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for the weekend to visit family. As soon as we walked in to the room it smelled like mildew. The carpet felt wet and so did the sheets. The floor in the bathroom looked disgusting. Will not stay again at this hotel

I booked a room for two nights at this Days Inn as I had business in the area. Having stayed there some years ago, I can definitely say that this isn’t the same place it used to be. First, the good: the desk clerk was very friendly, accommodating and professional. Second, the fair: the breakfast was not really a breakfast, but a morning snack. Still, at least they offered something. Now, the bad: the room was difficult to stay in. While it appeared to be clean, the smell was almost unbearable. I should have requested another room, but just didn’t want to seem like a troublemaker, and after talking to some local folks, I don’t think it would’ve mattered. The room smelled like a soured locker room. Adding to that offensive smell was the offensive noise. The walls are pretty thin, apparently, as I heard talking and snoring into the late night. I told a local about my stay there, and they quickly informed that I should have stayed in Jonesboro, as the Days Inn in Pocahontas has had lots of complaints. Add mine to the list........

My wife and I were traveling through and this hotel was convenient. The outside appearance was nice. Checkin was easy and our room was ready. The room, King nonsmoking, was fairly large. The bed was comfortable. The carpet was old but appeared to be clean. The bathroom needed attention. The tile grout was stained and dirty. The toilet was short and small. This room should have had a tall adult size toilet. The shower caulking needed attention and the tub was worn. It wasn’t terrible but not great.

AWFUL is not a strong enough word to describe this dump! I’m a Wyndham rewards member, found it on my Wyndham app and can NOT believe this is a Wyndham hotel….WTH????? What’s so sad is it has such great potential. Structurally it is laid out wonderfully and the rooms are very spacious BUT OMG THE SMELL will overwhelm you. Not to mention all the chipped walls, doors and carpet coming up.
The first room we got (331) was sooooo hot and the musty smell was outrageous. We asked for another room (328) was even hotter and smelled worse if that was possible. If it wasn’t 11pm and we weren’t completely exhausted, we would have left. But being this sleepy and driving is extremely dangerous and there was no where else to stay. I’m guessing this is why the owner clearly doesn’t not care about the upkeep of this property because you honestly have no other choice but to stay here or sleep in your car if you’re traveling and exhausted.
We went back to the original room and then drove across the street to the gas station to buy air freshener.
After spraying this nasty room down, we prepared for bed, only to discover soaking wet carpet while walking to the other side of the bed. It was as if it had flooded on one side of the room by the window and AC. Apparently this AC is leaking soooo much it has completely soaked the carpet 5-6 ft all around it. We called down stairs but they had no more rooms so we were stuck in this nightmare.
When we turned down the bedding the sheets had stains all over them (see photo). This is the absolute worst place we’ve stayed in the 30 years we’ve been traveling for pleasure and for business.
Since we had no choice, we sucked it up and went to bed but hardly slept due to the smell. Wyndham needs to take their name OFF this dump immediately because it’s an absolute crap hole!!! Don’t waste your money staying here!!!!
