First let me say this is a review on the reservation process only....I made a reservation more than 90 days ahead of time for a cabin. When I called to reserve the cabin they charged my credit card 100% of the fees. I don't believe this is a standard practice. Anyway, my party decided to use our campers and go to another outfitter. When I called to cancel, also more than 90 days ahead of time, they kept 10% of the total of the reservation. Which was more than $70. Very disappointed. I would make sure you are 100% that you will be using them for lodging before reserving. .
Turner Bend employees saved me from misery and danger 10/28/20. I was thru hiking the Ozark Highlands Trail. After 4 days on trail, and 24 straight hours of rain, the creeks were becoming extremely dangerous and I needed an exit plan. I’m from Oklahoma and my ride wasn’t due to arrive for two days and some 35 miles down the trail from my current location. I luckily was one mile from a spur trail off OHT that took me directly to Hwy 215 and Indian Creek Trailhead. Of course I had no cell service so I messaged my husband on my garmin who then called the store for me. Within an hour of reaching the trailhead I was riding with Al back to Turner Bend to formulate my next plan. Al drove me all the way back to Alma where I got a room and met my husband a few days later. These folks are the real deal. They care about people and genuinely want to help those in need. And trust me, when you carry everything on your back and only have your feet to get you from one place to another, you’re in need. I cannot say enough good things about this place and these people. No matter what you need, whether it’s help or you’re looking to get away and float the river, call Turner Bend Outfitters, I’m confident they will go above and beyond to take care of you!…
This place should be a must stop for all water enthusiasts. Very talkative hosts, great turkey sandwich! The Mulberry River is also something to see: turquoise water, cold and clear. Very busy on the weekends.
We stayed here last night and we very pleased with our stay. Unfortunately, the Mulberry river was very low so we were not able to take advantage of any the water activities offered here (which is why we chose to stay here). However, the cabin itself was quiet, quaint, and very cute. A vast array of stars to be seen at night and the sounds of nature were a symphony to our ears. The owner and his wife live nearby and are great people. We would definitely recommend and would book in the future!
My husband and I stayed at the Turner Bend Cabin and had a wonderful evening. The cabin is nicely appointed with kitchen utensils, linens, tv, books and games and situated on a beautiful riverfront location. A quick walk to the river to view the beautiful setting is easily accomplished and finish your day watching the sunset from the outdoor cabin deck.
It was a nice cabin, It looked super cute on the outside. It is right at the canoe landing. We stayed in February and it was very quiet. If you are wanting to be where the action is in the summer I bet this the place to stay.... It did not have a DVD player and only one 19 inch tv so on a cold misting winter day to stay inside was kinda a minus but in the summer I guess you would not need a tv,,, The queen bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable! Could of used a little more "cabin" touches but we enjoyed the 2 night stay.. We will visit the area again..
Nice 2 bedroom cabin with porch and porch chairs. Overlooks the canoe staging area so could be hectic busier times of year. Was rainy and quite and enjoyed sitting on porch watching it rain. Nothing fancy but very comfortable.
I rented the cabin just north of store, by canoe shuttle. It was so awesome! My daughter invited several friends to join us for 3 days, and enjoy we did! It has an awesome hiking trail out back. Brad, the owner, informed all the employees that we were guest there, and they all showed us extra special attention to make our stay even more enjoyable
We stayed at Turner Bend's "Round the Bend Cabin" for 5 days in June of 2014. The 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin was very comfortable and well stocked - we had everything we needed for a great stay. The beds were comfortable but the east facing bedroom windows could use shades - it was a little too bright early in the morning. That wasn't much of a problem - it motivated me to go fishing each morning in the river which is about 50 yards from the cabin. We used the BBQ grill and fire pit and took our lawn chairs to the river side several times - all of which made for a very enjoyable stay. The people at Turner Bend are super friendly and helpful when asking questions about canoeing, riding ATV's, or hiking/exploring in the area. One of the best parts of our time spent there was the day that the owner of Turner Bend allowed us to canoe from Bryd's to our cabin. That allowed us to have no schedule at all. We really took our time floating, fishing, and relaxing that entire day. I would like to return to the Mulberry River during different seasons to see the river at different levels and enjoy the beautiful area in the spring, fall, and winter. A day trip to the top of White Rock Mountain is very rewarding - incredible views of the Boston Mountains.…
