We were in the Southwest Cabin for a couple of nights. It had a smokey smell to it, but that's what you get with a cabin having a wood burning fireplace that is used a lot. It was not the right time of year for us to burn wood. The kitchen was apportioned well. We were able to cook a couple of meals. The queen bed was tucked in a room at the back; not much space for walking around it or your suitcases. There was a small closet. The bathroom was modest, but clean. The TV and cable worked fine once we figured out how to turn things on. The TV is above the fireplace which is just a little too high for such a small viewing space. The hot tub was nice, but could have been a little cleaner (a bit sandy feeling). It overlooked a nicely treed descending hill with a view of nothing but nature. The nearby river was swollen from rains, so there wasn't an opportunity to wade in it. It was running a bit fast for even canoes, in my opinion. During dryer weather, I can see it being a nice one in which to wade, canoe, and/or swim. We took advantage of the horseshoes for some old fashioned fun. There were horses to ride for a price. We passed that option up for hiking. We were limited in our hiking by flowing water, but ,again, I can imagine the trails are better at dryer times. This is more out in the country, but a small store is nearby. There is a decent sized town with restaurants about 20 minutes away. We stumbled upon the drive to Queen Wilhelmina State Park nearby. It was worth the drive. We'd go back - especially at a dryer time.

Met up with my daughter and her boyfriend at Cabin #3. The cabin was small (as expected), but very comfortable (a pleasant surprise). We spent the majority of our stay outside. We hiked the Riverview Trail (located on the property), the Rockhouse Trail, Lover’s Leap (at Queen Wilhelmina State Park), and the Serendipity Trail (near the cabin). The Serendipity Trail was all torn up and a bit confusing. I wouldn’t recommend it in its current condition! The weather was beautiful. We chose not to canoe, as the water was low and we brought our dogs, but hope to give it a try on our next visit! We prepared most meals at the cabin and sat outside around the fire pit. We do recommend driving over to Mena for some amazing food at Little Italy II! We had a wonderful stay in Cabin #3! Note What to Bring: camp chairs for the fire pit, plenty of wine/spirits as it’s a two hour round trip to the package store, a wine opener, a lighter for the fire.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Easy walk down to the river from our cabin and enjoyed every evening down there. Shallow enough to walk through. Dinners on our deck overlooking the river and listening to the cicadas. We did some hiking near by and floated the river in a canoe one day. Our dog had a great time too! Will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here and we will definitely be coming back. Next time we will bring the kids. Everything was clean and everyone was nice. We were told they are adding horseback riding and side by side to go on the trails.

I highly recommend Riverview Cabins for a getaway to the Lake Oauchita region of Arkansas. The Lover's Nest cabin was a perfect size for us and had everything we needed, such as towels, utensils, dishes, and plenty of firewood!

We spent the weekend in cabin #8, the Rose Cabin for two. Everything was perfect! The cabin was cute, clean and accomodating, the bed was very comfortable. We spent alot of time on the porch that overlooks the river, the view is AMAZING and you can hear the sound of the water, it's so close. Oh and the hot tub was icing on the cake! 5 stars and we will definitely go back!

Convenient, clean, perfect for a last minute getaway. Provided quiet solitude and a friendly staff. Only suggestion, get your alcohol beverages BEFORE going to the cabin. The area is dry and the travel to shop is a bit of a drive. Otherwise perfect!

I recently took a girls trip with a friend and my 2 daughters. We stayed in Cabin #3, A Little Country, at The Riverview Cabins and Canoes. We met Vickie at the office upon arrival and she was easy to laugh; very friendly and helpful, she and her teenagers answering a barrage of questions about the area for us. Upon entering our cabin, we were so pleasantly surprised because the photos do not do the cabin or property justice! It was adorable, very clean, well stocked with everything we needed for our stay, and the hot tub was warmed up and ready to go! The furniture was very nice, comfortable, and clean, and the beds, pillows, and sheets were very comfy as well. There are 2 pillows per bed, so for my fellow pillow people, plan accordingly. We fell in love with Rosie, Vickie's dog, who goes from cabin to cabin to check up on guests. She is the sweetest pup and spent quite a bit of time hanging out on the front porch and roaming the property with us. When it was time for us to leave we had a flat tire. Vickie asked her husband, Poncho, who was equally as pleasant, to come down and pump up my tire. I'm happy to have had the chance to chat with him as he is an interesting man, full of stories. This is a fantastic little gem of a place run by some great folks. Everything about our 4-night stay was wonderful, except for the fact that we couldn't stay longer. We cannot wait to come back!

It was quick trip from Houston, for a long weekend. Unfortunately it had been raining for the previous two days and, we didn't get to try the canoe services. We stayed in cabin 5. it was clean and comfortable, but the appliances are a little dated. The cleaning requirements seem a bit onerous. The prices a little steep for what they are.
