This hacienda is a beautiful old home built in the 1600's. A flashback to how the aristocracy used to live, Our room has its own huge fireplace, although because of the humidity it was hard to keep a fire going. Service was friendly, but quite formal. The rooms are quite dark and it was cool at night.

This hacienda is a little rough around the edges on the exterior but made up for it in ambience. The long tree-lined entrance is spectacular as well as the surrounding gardens. As you wander through the place you can only imagine what it must have been like to have lived there in the old days of the haciendas. My room...

This is by far the smartest place of the many I have stayed in in Ecuador. The house is beautiful and the surroundings and gardens are perfect. The public rooms are grand. But it is all a bit lacking in soul. The staff were rather formal and not as friendly as I expect in Ecuador. My room was large but...

We did not stay here but visited for lunch as the dinner at the hacienda we were staying at was poor. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was fairly good. The main plus was sitting in the restaurant looking over a lovely courtyard and watching the humming birds.

The house is beautiful and in nice grounds. Some of the interior is a bit dark and our bed was a bit small, but staff were pleasant and food fine. About 30 minutes from Cotopaxi national park.

My daughter and I stayed here after spending the afternoon climbing up to the Refuge at Cotopaxi Volcano. We were so impressed when we turned onto the long driveway leading up to the Hacienda. The large trees created such a lovely feel as we drove along. We were shown to our rooms which were by far the largest of any...

We stayed for only one night but it was a relaxing stop. The hacienda is set in nice gardens. The staff is friendly. Both lunch and breakfast were very good.

I hope that readers will disregard the sour lemon review of Hosteria La Cienega that precedes this one. I felt transported to another era. The property has an elegance that is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The common areas and the gardens are beautifully done. On the courtyard garden is a small church which is a gem -- honestly, it...

This Hacienda is unique. It was certainly not what I was expecting - a welcome surprise. The entire place was absolutley beautiful. The rooms have fireplaces and the garden room I was in had a view of Cotopaxi. The gardens and courtyard were beautiful - horses walking freely around the grounds. I felt like I was stepping back in time....

'La Cienega' is a beautiful, spacious and well-maintained hacienda. Strolling around the main building, grounds and gardens is a pleasure, as is taking breakfast in the airy and spotless dining area. It is stylish and full of personality, and at night the pattering of the fountains and illuminated chapel makes for a dreamy location straight out of an E.M. Forster...
