What liked • We arrived in the late afternoon in the Ramee Dream Resort, located in front of the village beach. Hi have assigned a very nice spacious room, with curtains overlooking the pool, shame that in the building and and throughout the hallway there was a nauseating smell of smoke and spice mix, really annoying. Near very annoying Indians, from 2 to 5 in the morning getting drunk in the rooms adjacent to ours. The staff at the reception was genitle. Hearty and good breakfast included, to choose from multiple variants, English Oman and European. Dinner in the Indian rist. complex, long service, miss who hardly spoke English, exaggerated bill
What did not like • harassing people, reporting to reception at 2:4am, no one intervened to appease the drunks on the hallway

Located close to seeb beach and fish market and souq, it a very decent hotel to stay in muscat. Rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast was reasonable. Staff were cordial and helpful. Pool is not temperature controlled but was good.

This gets a bit of a bad rap in the recent lonely planet. It is not so impressive from the outside, but the rooms are lovely, the bathrooms in particular are great, and the service is fantastic. The staff seem to take great pride in there work. There is a restuarant in the hotel which is relatively inexpensive and serves great Indian food. It also serves alcohol. The pool is clean and there is a small jacuzzi. The town is about a ten minute walk, with a great little souk and fantastic street kebabs. There is a long stretch of beach, some of which is dedicated to local fishing boats. It's about a 20 minutes drive from the airport and easy to find from the beach road.

We visited in Feb 2023. Booked a two night stay, but got out the very next day. Not a family friendly property. The room was full of smoke smell and had a very unpleasant experience. They changed our room to another room when we complained about smoke. Next room also same issue. Not recommended if you're visiting with kids.
Finally we were provided with another room at another property owned by the same group near Qurum beach

Seemed more genuine. Was hoping for a little more in the way of help with outdoor activities but I had a good time here . I do hope though that when they renovate they add to rather than subtract from the potential because this place has a lot more potential than it's utilizing . Some more persian touches would make the place even better. I would come back here though it vibed. The staff were genuine and service was good. There are details of middle eastern architecture and cool niches to relax in unlike neighboring properties. I was hoping for music by the pool but not yet.

We booked over the internet for the Eid-al-Adha in October, 2014. The prices were quite high but on the internet it looked very promising. How wrong were we...
We had booked the room two weeks ahead but still when we got there we had to wait 2 hours for a room to be prepaired for us. We left 5 minutes after we were shown into our room. The room walls were stained with all kinds of stains...
The pool is DIRTY, the place is DIRTY, the walls are DIRTY, everything is DIRTY! It seems like they built the place a few years ago and since then no maintenance was carried out! They are renovating some parts of the compound, but that just adds to the misery! It feels as if you are staying in a construction site! The promised beach is a dirty beach in the middle of nowhere, and a good 1000m+ away from the hotel! The cleaners were using the water from the pool for their mops!
It would be ok if this was a cheap hotel, but imagine that we left, stayed at the brand-new 5-star "Grand Hormuz" Hotel and paid A LOT LESS than we would have paid at Ramee for the same days!

Pros: Staff seem to want to please, restaurant and pub seem popular (although we didn't try them), rooms are decent size and well furnished.
Cons: Terrible mould problem and damp cellar smell, no windows in most rooms, no duvet cover (a sheet folded around the duvet), poor housekeeping standards (dirty cloths left in the room, no toilet roll, stains on walls/bath), access to hotel might be difficult with a low-clearance car, wifi is poor.
They would have been better off spending money on getting the basics right than splashing out on "nice to haves" like separate bath/shower, designer sinks, inside-wardrobe lighting, giant TVs).

"The 2 bedroom room windows look into the corridor, which overlook the swimming pool. Curtains would be drawn at most times, but if you don't mind the frosted glass protection, then you could keep them open. The hotel is mostly empty so this shouldn't be of concern."
