Me and my husband had a very relaxing few days here. We stayed in the largest cabin (which was all that was available at the time) , I forget the name of the cabin. We brought our cat with us, which most places don’t accept. Don’t expect the Hilton but, do expect a laid back, clean, beautiful, quiet, rustic place to relax at. The bed was super comfy!! Something you don’t find a lot at hotels,cabins,etc.. Owners were sweet and welcoming being we got in at 3:30ish in the morning. Yes, they need updating which seems to be going on while still renting out to customers. The hot tubs aren’t working and there’s only dogs and cats to play with/pet which was fine with us. We went diamond hunting (Before going to the mine, John paid for us to meet with and learn from one of the premiere diamond hunters and his wife in the area (Al and his wife, Alberta) on how to find diamonds. While at Al’s, we also got to meet and chat with Shirley Strawn, who found a 3.3 carat flawless diamond at the mine. We also went check out Board Camp’s Paranormal experience as well as took in all the beautiful scenery in the area. All in all, we will return to this charming, rustic getaway to visit our newfound friends..the owners, Claire and John. :). And to explore the beautiful state of Arkansas some more.

I read some of the reviews here and I'm not sure they're fair. We stayed in the Starlight Cabin. Yes, okay, the cabin was a country collage of miscellaneous materials and items sometimes serving purposes for which they probably weren't originally intended, however the cabin was very clean, our bed was comfortable, and John was very nice to us. If you go here expecting a rustic, nothing-level-nothing-plumb, country, hodge-podge cabin in the quiet Arkansas woods next to the flowing river you'll enjoy your stay very much. On the other hand, if you're expecting something bougie boutique, you'll be disappointed. We stayed with our two danes and enjoyed very much watching some of the evening bats swooping up bugs outside by the light. The room was equipped with two heaters, but we actually opted for the fan. A knee injury forced us to leave early and John was even nice enough to offer a rain-check for our second missed night. If we're ever up that way to search at the mine again I would stay here again.

I made these reservations blindly without even looking at reviews !!!...so I didn't know what to expect🥺 ..we arrived way early and noticed it's someone's house and personal property ....with the cabins and teepees kinda in the back and spred out but I went to the door of her side porch and rang the bell... She told me I was way to early to check in... but to grab some of her tools and screens for diamond hunting and go hit the park and come back by 2pm ... This is at like 9am .. and it's hot and muggy ... Full sun and here we go to the mine with all my crap in the back of my truck .. (we've been camping for a few days already)... But I knew we was early so whatever ...we hit the mine and get really hot and about 2 pm I'm calling it quits ... We had a bucket of classified material to dig through later so we head to the cabins .....show up and it's Africa hot ... She's showing us around and we get in our cabin and it's really clean and cozy ....and felt good to have a shower and get in front of the fan and AC .... Beautiful area and lots of lights at night time if you take a walk .. had a great charcoal grill with charcoal already there ... Yes the place needs a face lift ... It takes alot of work to keep up the amount of stuff they have there ..needs a full time handy man to improve and maintain .... Don't know what the situation is there or what they have going on in their lives ...not my business.. we enjoyed our stay very much and she was very nice and encouraged to bring kids and the pets... And also to make a review because all you haters out there lol ...peace out and God bless our country and lift this family up

Property very run down would almost dangerous on some places. Mold in the bathroom dust mine is all over the fans floors hadn't been swept in a long time. The owners are very friendly but it looks like maintenance hasn't been done in a long time not worth $135 a night. The setting is spectacular Open Fields water access beautiful sitting areas. Needs an infusion of cash and TLC

Went there to stay for a couple days with the family to go digging and what not in the area. From the front of the road the place looks like the pictures, after that forget it. We had mold growing in the teepees we stayed in. It’s not we could afford to just pack up and leave the place for better lodging. Electrical issues all over the place and wooden floors just about every where bow and crack when even the smallest of children walk on it. The swimming area would be better if you could actually access it. The bright spot was the gem hunt they do at night for the kids, that part was cool. The amount of code violations is astounding and I am surprised nothing has happened yet. 10/10 don’t go here.

No, just don't do it. We won't forget this place, but not for the great time we had there. It is run down, cats running around which got into a fight over our trash on the deck at 9:30 at night, falling down buildings and teepees. The games that are advertised are in the owners front yard. The back of the owners house has a pile of junk and tarps. Not a pleasant view. It could be an awesome place if someone would take time and do some renovations, but until then, pass...pass...pass!

Website not representative of cabins. Teepees were torn and falling down. Rive is blocked by fallen trees so you cannot fish or kayak. We booked a cabin for three nights. Stayed first night only because we had a pet and it was late evening when we got in. Floors are "soft", need replaced. Bathroom door was missing about 1/4 of bottom - looked like a dog or something ripped through it. Shower handle was just sitting on it, fell off in my hand. Contact paper on shower walls was pealing off, sink faucets handles were loose and the toilet handle stuck letting the water run if you didn't jiggle it. Pillows were old and flat and were only on one of three beds. A raid bug fume had been set off earlier in the day, can was still sitting on ledge in cabin. Only upside was the cabin was clean. Ruined our whole vacation staying there. Plus she does not offer refunds if you don't cancel 5 days before stay and does not give back partial payment if you check out early so we lost all our money on the rental.

We found this place online and based on the photos on their website, we thought it would be a really nice place and right outside of Crater of Diamonds State Park. It was dark when we got there. The first thing we saw upon entering were snakeskins. Seeing as how the door would not lock and barely closed, we moved the folding bed in front of the door. We discovered hundreds of dead bugs and wasps under and in the folding bed. There was no cell service, the free wi fi internet was a lie. There was none. My bf had stepped outside and our dog started growling at the food bowl. There was a mouse crawling out of the wall moving to the food bowl. Later there was a mouse running over the head of the bed and later on again, there was a mouse running directly over the bed on the beam. There was mouse poop in the bed, and one of the windows had a whole corner broken out and they tried to duct tape it back together but it had fallen out and there was a hole there. It was freezing in there. They had two small portable heaters. When we went up the next morning to check out at the office, they wouldn't answer. We had to call several times to finally get through. The man answered the phone and was a complete jerk. He said it was to be expected when you camp by the river. WE WEREN'T camping! It was a CABIN! And even when we DO camp there are no snakes and mice in our tents! I had to get my bank involved to get my money back. In the daylight the whole property was run down. Nasty teepis, and a nasty outdoor hot tub with weird stuff in it. If there was a way to give this place negative stars I would do it. This place is a liability waiting to happen!

No refunds! From the owner when we discovered a very dirty greasy stained bedding with filth everywhere. Do not waste your time or money! The pictures on the web site are at least 20 years old. The cabin is a yard shed with a bed. Never cleaned. The wood porch is rotten and falling apart.
