Amazing weekend trip to Jack's White Water Fishing Resort. The lodge is spot on...very comfortable...clean rooms with great views available. Did a guide for one day with Brandon and he was fantastic!!! The Water was murky....but he took us up river and we had a great day Fishing 🎣
We live in Calico Rock Ar and love going here. Like Jo Jo a bunch. Have never fished there tho.. not yet, We have Lived down about 6 years ago. Retirement From Dept of energy in Co. And decided to retire here in Ar . Lots of my moms family are from this area. One of her favorite places.
We are camping at Jack's and able to be right on the White River. It is very beautiful! We were trying to find a place that would not be over crowded so we did not have to feel paranoid about Covid all weekend! This is that spot!!
I visited with my husband, son, my mom and dad, we had joining rooms. There was an enclosed porch area facing the White River. The view was beautiful. The resort itself is out of date, they need to do repairs and paint. Even though we were only there two nights, we requested room service not needed, they told my husband that it was required, they had to come, for what reason I'm not sure, they emptied trash and made the bed...... they left dirty sheets on the bed from the night before (dirt from our feet were in the bed the next night), they didn't clean the floors, wasp and flies we killed were still there. My mom and dads bathroom sink would not drain, when maintenance came to plunge it out, it was the most nastiest junk in there, maintenance said who knows when it was cleaned last. GROSS!!! Upon arrival to our room it looked like someone had chunked balls of mud at our door, it was not ever cleaned off while we were there. The rooms are very out of date. The bed was comfortable but everything needs to be updated. My dad took a really bad fall our last night there, the next day Sherry (I believe it was) checked on him. She and the man at the front was really nice. Everyone was nice except our waitress in the restaurant, she had short brown hair, she was very rude and rushy to not just us but her other customers as well. All in all, I would like to visit again once they do some updating to the place, not up to par for the price at all. The dock area and boats... well, I wouldn't want to go out in some of those boats.…
My sister's and I spent 3 nights and 4 days at Jack's in the 2 bedroom 3 (!!) bathroom cottage. It was amazing! The MH cottage sits on a hill above the White River. We watched the fog roll in and out through the large windows off the sitting/dining area. It is an old house, but we loved the charm and the views! Out the back door was a fire pit with plenty of seating. There was a grill and 2 picnic tables. This cottage would easily sleep 14 people. It has a full kitchen (bring your own paper products) with pots, pans, dishes, silverware....everything, but food and beverages. We fished off the dock but didn't catch anything, but had we, the dock hand 'Roy' would have cleaned and fillet them for us. We did see an otter family right off the end of the dock as well. So, beautiful! Even though MH Cottage is right near the road; we could not hear anything from inside. I slept like a baby all three nights. 'Uncle Dave', in the office was such a hoot! There is a play area for the kids, and a basketball court (outdoor). They also have spaces for RV's and an onsite restaurant. There is another cabin and hotel rooms. If you want you want you can rent a canoe, raft or guided fishing tour. All right there! Didn't bring your fishing gear... they will rent some to you. JoJo's Restaurant is onsite and is a great place to eat. I would definitely go back!…
This is in one of the most picturesque parts of Arkansas. The resort is old, but beautifully maintained. All the facilities are in good repair and the resort is centrally located to sites and activities. Mountain View and the surrounding area are great if you enjoy bluegrass music. Several places to eat and lots of antique stores/souvenir shops to see. Jack's is reasonably priced for lodging. The RV spaces have full hook-ups. No TV channels available unless you bring your own satellite. Definitely take a raft or canoe trip down the White River. We did not fish, but guided trips are available. Everyone is personable, and genuinely friendly. Great place for a family vacation. Be aware: it is HOT in July. Always have plenty of sunscreen and water.
A beautiful historic park to visit it is a shame that the beautiful historic Wolf house has not been restored. The land and rolling meadows are magnificient to view any time of the year wuth it's lush greenery.
My friend and I hired Jason Brown at Jack's as our fishing guide on the White River. We not only caught lots of Rainbow Trout, heard a lot of Mountain View history and great stories! Wonderful trip and we both plan to return and catch more next year. The river is beautiful and Jason knows the river so well.
Although this is not a luxury hotel, it is an excellent place to stay. It is clean and updated - much better than any place in town. The screened in porch was delightful. It is directly next to the beautiful White River. JoJo's Resturant, which has wonderful catfish along with a full menu, is on the premise. We had a family reunion here. Since there is a house on premise, we rented that for gatherings. It was a fun time and would recommend it to anyone.
We to Jack's for a short trout fishing trip. The rooms are neat and comfortable, with a nice view of the river from a screened porch. The restaurant on site is very good and reasonable. Boats were well kept, too. WiFi was a little sketchy inside the room but not to be a problem.
