Upon my arrival in Sengkang I checked out the only modern hotel in town, first, but I found their prices a little steep and they would not accept any haggling. I asked some policemen for directions to a hotel with affordable rooms and they recommended the As Salam 2. After a very long motorcycle ride I was worn out. This,... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on my way to Rantepao. My room was quite big and nice, with AC, tv (English channels as well) and hot shower (something unusual for Indonesia), but my bathroom was a horrible experience. Breakfast was poor and I really do not liked a person who was selling a trip to Danau Tempe.... More

Oh my god, I have to agree with the other reviewers .... This place should be closed down. It's a pity because the actual building could be fixed up to be really nice. In fact they are doing some renovations (I don't know what, but the workman were banging until 10pm.). I had a nice chat with some people downstairs... More

Unfortunately this was the only place that had rooms available. Bathroom was disgusting and smelly and we found bed bugs. We changed rooms to an equally bad room though with no evident bed bugs- only this time there were huge cockroaches. Air con barely worked and both rooms damp and musty with no ventilaion. Breakfast was just bread without condiments.

This hotel may have had the worst bathroom of any room we stayed in during our month in Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi. Filthy walls and floor. No toilet paper. No hot water. Nowhere to put your toiletry items except the filthy floor. Western toilet, but no tank, you have to use water from a bucket. Used toilet paper has to... More

The hotel is run down and not recommended; the rooms are dirty and the breakfast was awful. The value for money is poor as the rooms were relative expensive, compared with much better hotels in Rantepao for the same price. Only because of the fact that there are very few hotels in Sengkang (and the preferred Pondok Eka often fully... More
