We stayed three nights at Palafito 1326 in a lovely room overlooking the tidal area. The room was simple, but the decor was unique with handwoven wool throws and covered pillows. Breakfast was shared at a large common table with many choices, both hot and cold. We were so tired from all of our hiking that two evenings we just... More

We reserved through Booking.com and go confirmation as usual. During our staying in the country the local fishermen of Chiloe had serious problems with the fishing prohibited for a period so they had no income and received no help at first from the government. For is reason they blocked the island and you could only get there by plane. Coming... More

Now that a few months have passed, I can with a calm and collective demeanor write this review of the Palafito 1326. If I had composed this upon returning to the U.S. back in February 2016, my review would have contained coarse language and unclear thinking due to the horrible experience we had with this "establishment". Our tale starts in... More

The hotel was unique, comfortable and nicely appointed. Views of the tides from our balcony were beautiful. Breakfasts included homemade breads and treats. The staff went out of their way to see to our comfort and enjoyment and when. I asked Rosario, the nice lady at the front desk for the cook's fabulous bread recipe, she graciously shared it. Gracias!

Small hotel just outside of Castro, simple but comfortable. Staff is super friendly and helpful, breakfast is served at communal tables in the front room. There is a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy a coffee while looking out on the river.

This hotel was originally a palafito, one of a chain of houses built on stilts, thus escaping taxation, since the houses were erected partially on land and partially out to sea, under the jurisdiction of the Chilean navy. I'd rate this particular hotel three stars, because while the room was spacious and had a private terrace overlooking the lagoon, it... More

Very friendly welcome and staff throughout our 4 day stay. Clean room with rustic character. Efficient shower and plenty of hot water. Good choice of food at breakfast with something different on offer every day. Roof terrace cafe bar open every afternoon from 4pm serving drinks and toasted sandwiches is very pleasant and with excellent view. No signs of litter... More

We'd enjoyed our stay the previous evening at the Palafito hotel in Cucao on the western side of Chiloe and Palafito 1326 (I believe owned by the same people) was as good. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a terrace that overlooked the river. The breakfast was generous and of a good standard and all the staff were very... More

It's a pity as the hotel has charm and potential to be much better. Maybe a management problem? When we arrived the front desk people just sat there staring at us. No hello, how was your trip? Just stand up and look at the people paying your salary in the eyes. Room was clean, spacious no complaints. Bar upstairs is... More

The hotel is clean, but the neighbors are derelict buildings with trash everywhere. There is a small bar on the third floor where you can get a glass of wine and a couple of different sandwiches, but they don't have any ice available. There is a patio with a few tables but very few chairs. If you need a hair... More
