Patagonia House has to be one of the best hotel experiences ever. Low key luxury hotel in a beautiful setting where Ruth, the proprietor, takes a personal interest in each and every guest and in each and every staff member. Prices are fair to begin, and when you leave, you’ll feel like you got an unbelievable bargain. The quality of service is as good as it gets. Food is outstanding and rooms are beautiful.

The location is a couple of miles out of town, close to local hiking trails with views and well-cared for property. Ruth, the proprietor, is excellent; she is fluent in English, always available and can arrange everything to make your trip enjoyable (taxis, guides, fly fishing guides, etc.). Staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms all have great views and are large and comfortable. Food is farm-to-table fresh local ingredients (including an on premises greenhouse). Well prepared and rivals SF Bay Area and LA restaurant quality and presentation. Cocktail and wine lists are fairly priced and extensive. We stayed at the beginning and end of a backpacking trip in Patagonia park and found it the perfect refuge/refresh point around that trip. Luxury at a mid-range price.

Beautiful hotel with big great rooms in a quiet garden! A good breakfast buffet. The only downside is that no hotel employee is wearing a protective mask, or any other kind of protection, during the Covid-19 pandemic. When confronted, the answer is that they are being tested and therefore do not need a protection (not even in the kitchen/buffet). The signs clearly state that the guests need to wear masks (as the whole country does), but not the employee. A little lack of respect towards the guest in our opinion.

Experience at the Patagonia House was superb. Rooms were very spacious, clean, and bed was very comfortable. Food was a mix of Chilean/American which was a nice balance of our home country and adventure into Chilean cuisine and culture. Best part of the stay was Ernesto and Raphael. Super gracious and accommodating hosts. They helped us along our journey and went way beyond expectations. They also have a lot of contacts that they are able and willing to help when we needed them and do what we were looking to do (personal fishing guide).

We arrived at Patagonia House not knowing what to expect and everything exceeded our expectations. Ernesto assisted us in a late check in and also even tried to help us get food on Sunday night after his restaurant has long been closed. The food was delicious, I had seafood risotto & chimmicurri beef which were both exquisite. Due to Covid testing issues Ernesto went above and beyond to ensure we had documents printed we may need and also let us store a bag securely as we headed further South to Puerto Tranquilo. We utilized their laundry service and also were able to have them long up a day of fly fishing through the hotel. I would consider this an extreme value and perfect place to stay if you will be visiting Villa Cerra Castillo. We stayed in Santiago, Puerto Tranquilo and here, and this was by far the best experience.

We stayed two nights at this stylish modern small boutique hotel. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They are clean and very comfortable. The restaurant serves healthy food with a nice array of options. The service is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just outside the city with beautiful views over the valley. The internet is super fast for this remote part of Chile. I highly recommend this hotel.

Sheer heaven only a 10 minute walk to downtown! A meadow, farmlike oasis with fascinating architecture. We were greeted by the owner Ruth who has put her exquisite while understated taste into every aspect of the Patagonia House property! If you appreciate the marriage of buildings created in harmony with land, this is the place for you. I have a love of buildings constructed with repurposed materials so I was in heaven. Our fishing waders had proper drying racks and the easy vibe of the property was a big plus. Breakfasts and dinners were totally beyond any expectations we might have had. Patagonia House exceeds the definition of “Boutique Hotel”!

We stayed twice around the New Year, en route and on return to Aisen region Patagonia. A delight - interestingly architected, stayed in a very private garden cabin, visited by pheasant and ibis birds as we sat on our little terrace enjoying the peace and quiet. Owner Ruth and her team including Ernesto could not have been more helpful, organizing almost sold-out buses down to Puerto Guadal, airport transfers (a beautiful drive to Balmaceda airport early morning). Spotless housekeeping from a 2-person team. Room had everything needed including small fridge and kitchenette, and top quality wi-fi connection. Beautiful food - a steak cooked to perfection, lyonnaise potatoes, Carmenere red wine served by the glass on request; a bountiful breakfast spread with perfect scrambled eggs on request, excellent staff with good English (we have no Spanish). Can walk into town on paved sidewalk and along the paved river trail - a bit of exercise up the hill to return, but then park and enjoy the garden. Highly recommended.

Very good confortable room with a garden view - excellent breakfast and meals with fresh products with mediterrean style mixed with local recipes. Ruth was very helpful to decide the place to visit on the amazing Carratera Austral, North to Queulat National Park and south to Chile Chico. I highly recommend that lodge as it is a must-stay in Coyhaique (even it's only 1 hour from Balmaceda) and i will return for sure.

The Patagonia House takes comfort and hospitality to the next level. The owner goes out of her way to greet guests and to make sure you are happy during your stay. Food for both dinner and breakfast is amazing! Rooms were clean, spacious, and had every amenity we wanted. WiFi worked great. We like it so much here that we bookended our trip here, so we stayed twice in different room (all of which are unique). Highly recommend and we hope to stay here again soon.
