Janssen Park Place B&B is a turn of the century Victorian style home. It was built in 1907 by a Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Southern Railroad conductor. This handsome two story home was built for the slower pace of the early 20th century. The porch faces Mena's Janssen Park that hosts numerous events and festivals through out the year. My husband and I stayed with Jolynn over Father's Day weekend. The house and our room were lovely and very inviting. We had a great visit with Jolynn and she served us a beautiful breakfast . . . doing all the duties because John was away on a motorcycle trip. Thank you for your hospitality, Jolynn; we thoroughly enjoyed our time there!!

I stayed for a couple of days at Jannsen Park Place Bed and Breakfast. It’s located by a quaint local park in downtown Mena, AR. I stayed in the Maple Suite which was lovely! The king bed was extremely comfortable. The TV in the common area had digital channels as well as Netflix which was nice side perk. The room and bathroom were perfectly fresh and clean. John and Jolynn were amazing hosts! I enjoyed chatting with them and appreciated the excellent advice they gave regarding the local sights. The breakfasts were large and delicious. I was sad to leave! I highly recommend Jannsen Park Place!

I'm surprised you Floridians find Mena, Arkansas but we always have a good time when you do. It really takes more than two days to explore the Ouachita Mountains. We are still finding new adventures after ten years. Thanks for the kind words and we hope to see you again. John and Jolynn

What a wonderful experience. John and Jolynn were so inviting. We felt like we were staying with friends or family. Beautiful home across the street from a great park. Very spacious bedroom with attached bathroom and living room area. They recommended local restaurants, attractions, and to drive the Telimena Scenic Route. This detour was not in our plans but we are so glad we took this drive, it was gorgeous. We spent our evening sitting on the porch sipping drinks and learning all about the town and talking history. Breakfast was amazing. Before arriving they asked about food allergies and food preferences so they could customize breakfast for us. If we are in the area again we will not hesitate to stay here. Needless to say we got so much more than a room for the night!

My girlfriend and I needed to get away from the urban sprawl of the DFW area. Given the pandemic situation , a road trip was in order. We decided to visit the Ouchitas and the Talamena scenic Drive. After a bit of research, we chose to stay at the Janssen Park Place B&B. To say we made the right choice is an understatement. Our accommodations in the cottage were perfect and John and Jolynn were amazing hosts. They spared no effort to insure our stay was comfortable and provided us with all the information that we needed to tour the area. To top it off, We were fed some superb breakfasts, and our conversations with our hosts provided some very interesting insight into the history of the area. The property is right across from a beautiful park, which was lit up with holiday lights for our stay. Highly recommended!

We stopped in Mena on an off-roading trip through the Ouachita Mountains and at the last minute decided to stay at Janssen Park Place. What a great decision! The house is beautiful, our room was comfortable, clean and perfect, and our hosts so welcoming. Jo and John made every detail of our stay outstanding and served us an amazing breakfast with fruit and yogurt, fresh-squeezed juice, and a delicious frittata. Highly recommend this spot if you are in the area!
