This bed and breakfast was an overall five-star experience. We stayed in the rear cottage which was clean, well-appointed, and private. The hosts were very welcoming and a great source of local information. The breakfast was worth every calorie.
Outstanding family owned and operated business. The chef is in and every morning he has a well prepared meal ready to serve. The king size bed was perfect for this weary traveler. I was visiting unexpectedly for a funeral and this bed and breakfast was just what I needed to relax and nap as I required.
Definitely a 5 star rating. A truly wonderful and a real Bed and Breakfast experience. Warm greetings when we arrived. Pleasant, informative and friendly hosts. Made us feel right at home. Very informative of the history of the house and surrounding area. The house is truly a historic place in the area. Rooms were amazing and beautiful decorated. Breakfast was outstanding and had great conversations with the hosts. A must stay if one is in the area. Definitely will stay again. Thanks so much. Thanks John and Jolynn
This is truly the most splendid bed and breakfast I’ve ever experienced! Every quality that a B&B should have is exuded here: charm, coziness, genteel hospitality, peace and serenity. The rooms in this Victorian home are spacious and comfortable, and there is ample privacy if you desire. The hosts, however, are what makes this an exceptionally lovely stay! John and Jo treat you like family—I felt like I was staying with a favorite aunt and uncle. And Chef John takes your dietary challenges in stride when crafting a personalized breakfast menu, creating culinary delights that far exceeded this vegan’s expectations for rural Arkansas! The wraparound porch faces a sweet, peaceful city park with a fountain, ducks and swans, and the location is nicely situated: it is an easy 2-3 blocks walking to local restaurants and coffee shops. If you’re visiting to take in the breathtaking area mountains, Janssen B&B is the ONLY place you should consider! (Unless they are full, but their son/daughter-in-law also run a B&B nearby!)…
We stayed one night after driving the Talimena Scenic Byway and had a extraordinarily great experience. The host, John and the hostess, Jolynn were the most gracious and pleasant as any host could possibility be. The room we stayed in, the Maple Room, was roomy and very comfortable including the bed. I was pleased to find several plugins for all the electrical devices that always need recharging. The bathroom, while small was all we could have wanted and the amenities provided in it were more than most 5* hotels. The breakfast served in the morning was wonderful and definitely home made. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Mena, Arkansas.
My wife and I felt so lucky to have found this wonderful Bed and Breakfast in Mena Arkansas to spend the night after our drive through the Talimena dr. Mena is a friendly, small town and John and Jolynn were great host. We rented the cottage for the night and it was everything we could have hoped for. Spacious and comfortable. They offered us some great advice on were to eat dinner and then served us an amazing breakfast the next morning. They are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We hope to visit again someday.
Meet the most friendly, accommodating, and fun hosts in Mena, AR with their dog “Cool Hand Luke”. Great place with relaxing views of the park from the front porch. Breakfast is a masterpiece and the hosts will give up the carport for your bike if it rains. Seriously - this is better than any hotel within 50 miles. Ride the scenic roads nearby and relax in a king size bed at night without a worry in the world. Autumn colors will start around end of October.
We had the pleasure of a 4 night stay. The room is spacious and comfortable with original hard wood floors. Antique furniture throughout the house. We had perfect fall temperatures for enjoying the large wrap around porch with a view of the fountain and park across the street. The owners made us feel at home in there house immediately and throughout our stay. Normally we tend to sleepy drag ourselves up in the morning. After the first morning we woke up early each day knowing a wonderful breakfast and good conversation awaiting us. Thank you so much you two. We will be back for sure.
My husband and I stayed with Jolynn over Father's Day weekend. The house and our room were lovely and very inviting. We had a great visit with Jolynn and she served us a beautiful breakfast . . . doing all the duties because John was away on a motorcycle trip. Thank you for your hospitality, Jolynn; we thoroughly enjoyed our time there!!
I stayed for a couple of days at Jannsen Park Place Bed and Breakfast. It’s located by a quaint local park in downtown Mena, AR. I stayed in the Maple Suite which was lovely! The king bed was extremely comfortable. The TV in the common area had digital channels as well as Netflix which was nice side perk. The room and bathroom were perfectly fresh and clean. John and Jolynn were amazing hosts! I enjoyed chatting with them and appreciated the excellent advice they gave regarding the local sights. The breakfasts were large and delicious. I was sad to leave! I highly recommend Jannsen Park Place!
