My wife and I just bought a new Harley Davidson and want to take a short trip to Arkansas, we live in North Texas and the ride over the ridge at the Winding Stair park is a great one and it ends in Mena, I made the reservations with John and I made a misatke on the arrival day and he was very helpful in helping me correcting it. John told us about a resturant that he thought we might enjoy and it is within walking distance. The room was clean and well appointed. They we the perfect host, full of local information on the history of the area. Bedding was like new and plenty of hot water, the home is right accross from the city park and the front porch is a great place to have coffee and watch the sun come up. Breakfast was awesome and prepared to meet our schedule I can not more highly recomend staying with John and his wife. Great home and hospitality. We are already talking about another trip and taking some friends along and we will definently be stay at the Janssen Park Place B&B!

My husband and I stayed 1 night and was it amazing. John and Jolynn are the sweetest people you could ever meet and her homemade cinnamon bread is to die for!!! The room was spacious and decorated beautifully. The clawfoot tub was wonderful and they provided bubblebath and bathsalts that made it even better! The park view from the front porch was wonderful and quite! Just what we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits MENA it's well worth it!

John & Jolynn are the sweetest couple. The B&B is so quaint. It is centrally located and easy to find. The neighborhood is so quite, except for the train. lol Each room has its own bathroom and the rooms are spacious. Plenty of sitting room and there is a common room for gathering between the two bedrooms. The breakfasts alone were worth staying there. John is a wonderful chef and there is always more than you can eat. My only suggestion would be a better table in the common area so games are more easy to play. I would definitely recommend this precious B&B.

Charming place. Food was great. John and Jan were extremely helpful about everything. Maps of places, carport for the bike, directions, things along the way, etc. Very accommodating to our schedule. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

A last minute decision turned into a wonderful night in a super nice spacious room in this bed and breakfast. This house itself is beautifully remodeled with modern amenities but still has that “old house charm”. I don’t usually like animals but their full size poodle named Cool was even pleasant. He greeted us at the door with the owner but never barked. The owners explained that they take him to hospitals to visit patients. He’s great with people. Breakfast was amazing and the host were extremely nice. We were in a bit of a hurry to get to our next stop so we only had an hour to visit but we could have visited with them for hours. We were given suggestions on dinner ideas which were also pretty good and they even pointed out some points of interest in the town. The house is across from a large city park.
