The resort is beautiful. The beach is gorgeous. The staff was fabulous. Ramiro, our butler, greeted us every morning and was available for anything we needed. Meals were delicious. Ill start with the bummers so I can end on the nice stuff! Went for my partner's birthday. I made sure to specify on check in, but I guess they forgot so nothing special was done for him. We got to look at all the banners and balloons for everyone else though! Lol Ma+Suri which we heard great things about in other reviews but I guess they were short staffed when we went because we only got 1 drink the entire meal (dying next to the hot grill. Room service is terrible, nothing is like described on the menu. Just go to the McJestic by the casino late at night. Pool tables are in bad need of replacing. My partner really likes pool and asked me to include this lol The morning before the day we were due to check out we were called on the room phone TWICE waking us up from our sleep. They kept asking us if we were leaving and needed a ride to the airport. Each time I said NO we check out tomorrow. Didn't matter, they removed our room access from our wristbands and we couldn't get back into our rooms after breakfast with all our stuff still inside. When we were getting our wristbands reactivated they didn't see a problem with our reservation so I'm not sure why they were trying to kick us out a day early lol. Other than that it was really nice! Fernando and Minerva at the beach bar were fantastic :) Best part though was the seafood restaurant. Alexander and the other waitstaff went above and beyond and we had a fantastic time. Our glasses were never empty, the food was delicious, and the views were beautiful. Room was spotless, lots of towels and a huge shower. Butler Yefferson was very helpful and made sure we felt at home. VIP lounge thats located in the courtyard in the middle of the VIP rooms was such a great place. We wake up too late for breakfast most days so I would go there and make a bomb assed sandwich, with chips and guac. Thanks to all staff for lots of nice memories :)

We just got back from Majestic Colonial and had a wonderful experience. Our first time in Dominican Republic and certainly not the last. The resort was clean, the grounds were beautiful and well kept by the dedicated ground workers. We could see how hard working all the staff are at this resort. They are friendly and ensure your experience is a good one. The beach is just beautiful and no seaweed. We stayed in the adult club side and certainly don't regret it. A huge shoutout to Joshue -our wonderful butler. This young man went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care off - we are technically challenged, so there he was helping us get sorted out. His work ethic is outstanding -the resort is very fortunate to have him working there. Federline - working the Club Lounge was just a delight - smiling everyone morning as we got our coffee. What a bonus the Club lounge is! Rafael --working in Le Gourmet and the beach breakfast buffet was amazing - he was everywhere, Viarnni and Raul at the Cotorra bar -making excellent Dirty Monkeys and Miami Vice drinks, Marcos in the Mexican restaurant - catering to our every need as we had dinner. The staff are truly what make this resort. We are already planning on coming back next year and hopefully have Joshue as our butler.

Overall our stay at the Majestic was wonderful, we had the all-inclusive package food and drinks were surprisingly good. Beautiful beach, staff was excellent and attentive. One draw back is the soliciting on the beach. Please be aware of a gentlemen carrying around a business bag offering Catamaran excursion to Saona. We originally wanted a private tour and he convinced us otherwise setting the wrong expectations about the entire trip. We had specific requests being completely overlooked. The crazy part, they pick you up in a retro van for transportation drive for 45 minutes to transfer you to another bus for another 90 minutes just to get to the catamaran. We decided not to go on that second bus and return back to the hotel, losing $200 cash deposit. I highly recommend working with hotel staff for day excursions versus hustlers on the beach. Lesson learned!

Had a great time from the moment we got there we was greeted with drinks and hospitality. Josué showed us to our rooms and gave us a great tour and went above and beyond. He set the room up for my girlfriends birthday and she loved it he was a perfect host highly recommend. The entire staff there was great as well especially junior by the main pool bar as well always kept the drinks ful and energy high. And last but not least Gregory from the beach restaurant was always full of high energy and was great energy to be around during our stay. Highly recommend dealing with all of the people mentioned but everyone was great .

Honest review I'm going to give this resort (Majestic Calonial) a 4 out of 5 stars. Although there are so many things that were disheartening, there were a few Gems/Superstar Staff that SAVED our trip and ULTIMATELY weighed on this review. So first the good. I'll start by saying that this was a surprise last minute trip for my wife and I (celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary). We usually only stay at adult only resorts so we were a little anxious about it. Let me just say that having children around wasn't an issue (meal time didn't feel like a school cafeteria, the pools weren't over packed and the variety of activities keep them occupied and almost non-existent) so if you are adults only travelers like us you will fair well here. Note that the resort does have an adult only sections (sleep, bars, pool and beach). We were assigned a Butler/Concierge..... NELSON!!! He was our first "chill pill". Top notch hospitality, personable, accommodating and cheerful. Never once let us worry, handled any issues or concerns sooner than needed, just all around on top of everything. My wife and I travel alot, at least 4x a year. We have delt with many people, companies and organizations. Because of this and many experiences we know reality. We are not needy travelers and Don't have expectations, only expect to be treated with respect in a clean environment. This is the first resort that went above and beyond to decorate the room and door, no fee asked, no need to bring your own decorations and a mind blowing setup. Thank You Nelson & team! We ended up with a dated but amazing room. We are not really room people however we like to sleep and lounge in comfort so although updates are needed, none horrible. The pools are plentiful, larger family pools have daily activities, not much really going on at the adult pools other that lots of chatting, personal music, bars/drinking. THE BEACH!!!!!! Soo we are beach people and we will choose an amazing beach over an active pool any day! This beach alone is a selling point of Majestic Calonial. Kept clean, we had Excellent Beach Bar staff (Fernando, Minerva & Iuisa) kept us smiling and also offered a smile each time. The food at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner wasn't great but not the worst we encountered, typical all-inclusive eats, except the desserts! My oh my, they are top notch. Kudos to the chef! The gentleman that served us every morning for breakfast wasn't wearing a name tag however he was always wearing a flower or leaving beautiful flowers on the table for us to enjoy. It is our fault and we should have gotten his name however, I called him the chief lol I enjoyed watching him school the younger staff, you guys should give him a training position, he was a true pleasure. All in all lots of food options. We also had hibachi (last evening) and a beach dinner for an extra fee (anniversary day) during our stay. The beach dinner food was amazing, I have a shell fish allergy and was greatly accommodated with a delicious steak, wife enjoyed her lobster as well. Our meal was perfection. Our server Luis was so much fun he also paired our meal with champagne and music. Let's not forget the Breath taking sunset. Too much fun. Let's just say Luis made sure I slept well (and early lol). Hibachi restaurant Ma + suri, has to be reserved and was actually our favorite meal. Our cook and server were Joaly & Raymond. They were excellent and personable. It was a late dinner and they still treated us like we were the first group of the day. Very entertaining as well. But the best, never failed food goes to the finger food stop by the sports bar and casino! (wings, fries, pizza, burgers, hotdogs, mozzarella sticks and more). We enjoyed ordering room service from them as well, super convenient and good no matter how u decide to order. The casino, sports bar, clubs and night entertainment (shows) were great, we sat in on a few shows, whatever our bodies would allow after long days in the sun. But always something going on in the evening and always listed on activity boards throughout the resort. Never any confusion. Upon arrival my wife and I were given a coupon for a free hydrotherapy at the spa. When we went to the spot to set that up we also set up a 30 minute massage for the two of us. Because of this, we were able to enjoy hydrotherapy twice which was a pleasure. Rafael the spa receptionist was very nice and informative. Marisol and another young lady, who's name we sadly forgot to get, gave us wonderful massages, they were both very polite and warm and did an amazing job. Kelvin walked us through the hydrotherapy and helped us unwind with some champagne. True pleasure thanks again to the spa team. We ended our stay at the lobby bar with Bartender Dilania. Taught her game of Rock Paper Scissors. Which she loved and promised to take the game home lol. Thank You Dilania. Now the bad..... Not sure if it's the fault of the "Majestic Company's training department" or what, but hospitality, respect and courtesy has completely gone out the window for 80% of the staff that work at this resort. We questioned are they being paid fairly? Trained properly? Taught that every guest is #1? Even if we are not or believed not to be Spanish speaking? The worst place to have this quality of staff is on your front line. Most of your front line is filled with staff that make you feel like you are in fact a bother. The first shop my wife and I walked into was located directly across from the show/entertainment area. We where looking to purchase bandanas for our excursion. We walk in, were not greated by any of the four staff there and waited about 3-5 mins for the staff to finish their personal conversation in order to be able to ask if there were any bandanas available. We were told no, however my wife found two pairs of shades, we walked to the counter, waiting for yet another conversation to be completed and paid our bill. My wife asked for a bag to carry the items, the young lady, name tag "Miloud" rolled her eyes as if my wife asked her for her last dollar. I honestly almost returned the items but she needed them. We found bandanas in the shop next door (same side conversations). They were ticketed for 4.99, I'm gonna guess that price wasn't good for them because they kindly scribbled over the original price, in my face might I add, with a pen and told me they are $6 now. Why didn't I say anything? Something's are better noted. Crooks? Underpaid? Not properly trained? Who knows... Also had a horrible encounter with one of the concierge guys (too livid to look at his name tag but he worked the lower level) after a great day outside and yes a great amount of alcohol, my wife and I headed back towards the room, I do travel with a speaker. Happy and enjoying myself I walked the inner courtyard towards the elevator singing, a few other guest joined in and danced, we had a time lol, until.... I was approached by said gentleman in the most unprofessional way, in fact I was yelled at like a child, now I get that the radio was a little loud, I could of definitely respected him walking up to me and letting me know it's was a lil loud and to be mindful of other guest, I can respect and understand that. I'm an ADULT and a GUEST. Nothing that was done on my end warranted that amount of blatant disrespect. The colorism is obvious and blatant.... I'm a non Spanish speaking Puerto Rican, very Hispanic looking man, The assumption was that I did speak Spanish. But oh when they found out I didn't...... My wife is a very dark skin (actually a Spanish speaking) Belizean woman. Many staff behaved very standoffish with her and only spoke to me, so she pretended she didn't speak Spanish the ENTIRE trip. Only to listen to staff speak bad about her or I on several occasions. I could tell u the things that where being said but it wouldn't change how people truly feel sadly. Also people should be reminded that they never know who they are speaking in front of or what they know. Outside of the names mentioned earlier, we received more good mornings, good afternoons and good evenings from your grounds crew and housekeeping staff then we did from your front line. They work very hard and still take the time out to wave and greet you, they are the true gems of your resort. The resort is in desperate need of pool towels and pool reconstruction (pool and water display tiles can be found all over the resort) power went out once, not a big deal because the response was rapid however no fire detector, phone or internet service till the next morning in our room. Now this is at no fault of the resort, but the resort could definitely help with the haglers on the beach. I did not enjoy being told daily that because "we" were darker skin "like them" that we were in dept to them and should simply make a purchase based off that alone. Horrible sales pitch. I right this review with well wishes and no ill intentions but hopes help. It is truly a beautiful resort and has so much to offer. I can see the time, care and thought put into this place. If I can take away all the bad experiences I would definitely stay again. Sadly the severity of the % of my stay that wasn't enjoyable was disheartening. Best of Luck Majestic Calonial ❤️

We just returned home from our 4th trip to MCPC in May 2023. We had an amazing time! On October 2022, we were a bit disappointed as our experience was not the same as it had been in 2019. The employees were so much more friendly, engaging and welcoming this time. The size of the resort is perfect. No need for a golf cart to take you around and even when the resort is busy, it feels relaxing. The food is decent (although it is not fancy, high end dining you would find in the US or Canada). I am quite picky but could always find something to eat and never went hungry. My husband is a (very laid back) chef and had no complaints about the food. I love the layout of the resort and all of the plants and foliage. It’s absolutely beautiful! The employees are one of the biggest reasons we keep going back to Colonial. They are so warm, happy and welcoming. They genuinely want your stay to be the best experience! The drinks were great! Not watered down, and also not so strong that they were in drinkable. Just perfect. The beach was beautiful and we were lucky to not have too much sargassum during our stay. They had crews cleaning it up in the morning, but it’s part of nature and the resort does what it can to keep the beach beautiful. The employees that made our stay memorable: Christian is the number one server in the lobby bar! Best espresso martini! Leandro y Loyda at the club pool made our anniversary the best day ever! Great bartenders! They remembered our drinks and made the days at the pool so much fun. Andrea at the bar under the stairs makes amazing craft cocktails and Yasmin at Le Gourmet is so sweet and welcoming every day. I loved when she would wish us a “beautiful day” after breakfast. Jensy and Gabriel at Le Gourmet were great servers, going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our dinner. Yeferson is the best butler! He might be one of the top reasons we return to this resort. We enjoy our chats with him and getting to know him more each time we return. He checked in every day to make sure we were taken care of and would help with anything we needed. Angel at the towel hut was another incredible employee. We had a small issue (nothing to do with the resort) and he helped resolve it, and also remembered us each day after that, checking in with us to make sure we were okay. We look forward to returning again very soon!

Recently came back from staying at the majestic colonial it was a beautiful hotel. The service was excellent special shoutout to Gregory Montas our server at the restaurant he went out of his way to see that we were satisfied and yes we were professional,carismátic, and friendly. A true asset to your hotel. Jorge the butler was great very professional and informative. The rooms were so spacious. The food was also very good will definitely recommend and go back. Raysa was also great.

The room was always very well cleaned and maintained! Santa cleaned our room very well and always made the room look beautiful. We always had many towels and shower products which added to the fantastic experience

Everthing was so amazing the staff was friendly and courteous. They made sure i had a great time every minute of my stay. Our concierge Eduardo was the best he went above and beyond to cater to our needs. I cant say enough good things about this resort. I truly recommend this resort to everybody who is looking to have a great vacation
