The Tropical Deluxe Princess hotel offers a serene atmosphere with well-received quiet dining areas, though its entertainment can be hit or miss. While many guests praise the immaculate grounds and beach, room experiences vary with some citing maintenance and cleanliness concerns. The value is debated; some suggest splurging on upgrades due to issues like pricey shops and food quality, yet others are content with the standard offerings.
Service quality fluctuates, with instances of both friendliness and slowness reported. Nonetheless, the hotel's location consistently wins accolades for its stunning beach and beautiful surroundings.

Detailed Reviews
Just returned home from 2 weeks at this resort with family of 4, 2 children aged 6 and 9.
Check in was easy & we were taken to our room. On first inspection the room seemed fine however soon we had a list of problems. The shower didnt work, patio doors wouldn't lock & being on the ground floor was a worry, the fridge was already pulled out of the cupboard so it was obvious they were aware that it didnt work. The problems were sorted the next day despite being told someone would be there immediately!
Next the cleaner if you could call her that, basically a bed maker! We constantly had to chase her down for towels, water, coffee every single day. We complained to our rep frank from TUI who was great & got us upgraded.
So a nice new room, the toilet blocked & it took 3 phone calls & a complaint to frank for it to be sorted. We got a fruit basket in compensation.
Into the second week the air con leaked over our clothes which we didnt realise until the second to last day & after all the complaints we had had enough!
Food
Well it says there are 4 restaurants on site, what they dont tell you is that it costs from $35 per person to eat in them! We ate in the buffet restaurant which is ok food, standard for all inc but after 2 weeks pretty much the same. They have themed nights for instance chinese night which constitutes to some spare ribs & noodles the rest of the food exactly the same as every other night!
The only saving grace was the staff in there who were lovely.
The grounds are lovely however, lots of mosquitoes there so be prepared! The facilities need updating, crazy golf is ripped on most holes, the paddles for table tennis broken. We did play pool & table football in the teens club which was enjoyed by our boys.
You are advised not to venture out of the hotel unless on trips so if you prefer not to just laze by the pool or beach for 2 weeks prepare to spend a small fortune!
You are hounded by the pool & on the beach to do trips & also to have a timeshare & they also have stalls selling jewelry outside the restaurant who hound you to buy things.
Would I return to this hotel, no.

Hotel rooms were very good as what I was expecting. The pools could use a bit more TLC as they were not clear or cleaned well. The staff from the coffee shop "Frank" the barista was amazing. He made amazing coffee for us every day and for my mom. His other colleagues too, they would do crepes so good and any coffee you asked for. Staff at the lobby bar and maids from the rooms were all extremely sweet and accommodating. The service at the restaurants especially the buffet was slow. They would take a long time to serve you the water or refill for that matter. However, Liliana from the beach bar was very sweet and accommodating. check in and check out was smooth. One of the cooks from the Japanese restaurant was super entertaining and to me the BEST service and food all around. he sang old Cuban songs to my mom, entertained our table and cooked a delicious meal. Overall good experience and I'm glad I did not guide myself by the other negative reviews. It was a good hotel, great animation and shows and overall nice people and service.

Arrived home today from 11 days in the Tropical Princess. Had a nice time. Hotel was clean (although needs updating as is being done later this year). Pools and ground were spotless. There were birds everywhere which we really enjoyed feeding...many are very tame. Beach was lovely, yes a bit of seaweed (actually tree leaves so worse on really windy days) but they worked really hard to clear it up each day.
Food was not great. Didn’t really cater for English at breakfast and lunch and dinner were the same every day. Dinner was better though thanks to Marcos who cooked our pasta everyday. Ada was amazing too, she made sure we had wine every night and really looked after us. Also a huge thanks to Leo on the pool bar who made sure we had wine we liked each day. The staff and animals made this holiday for us.
Thank you for a nice holiday.
Watch out for SeaPro on the beach who mis sold us a trip which was awful ( have left a separate review on them)

On the very first day we had things taken from our room. Toiletries, contact lenses, snacks, and jewelry. We waited to report it until we could confirm with our family at home that we didn’t leave these things behind. When we reported the missing items the manager and a security guard checked our room in case we had “overlooked” all of these things. No, still missing. But they found a stash of towels in the dresser that seemed to annoy them. We were supposed to have conditioner delivered to our room - one of the missing items - but it never showed up. No one ever contacted us again and when I followed up we were just told that nothing could be done.
You can use a safe at $3 per day and note that the staff has to come to your room to set it up. But who would think to put contact lenses or hair conditioner in there? Lol
Food at this resort was good. Bed sheets were inadequate as they didn’t have fitted sheets so if you move while you sleep you might find yourself sleeping on the bare mattress. Yuck.
Some of the staff were very nice and friendly.... others not so much. Grounds were very nice and
Lots of folks on the beach and by the pool trying to sell souvenirs, excursions, hair braiding, massages, etc. Pretty annoying when you can’t go 10 minutes without being hassled.
Glad we found out how this place was before we took the whole family here.

Dear MomBH3. First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to post your comments of your stay at our hotel. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies for any possible inconvenience that you may have experienced while your recent visit. We really appreciate the gesture of letting us know about your holiday but more about this uncommon situation that you unfortunately faced in our premises. Certainly we believe that safety and satisfaction are our top priority that is why we provide an unbeatable ambiance of quietness, peacefulness but more important of safety. As a plan of prevention, we recommend the use of the safety deposit box inside the rooms precisely to keep valuable things (money, jewelry, etc) under your own protection as you are responsible of making up your own code. This important recommendation is remarked upon check-in, and it is pointed out that the Hotel is not responsible for any loss outside the safety deposit box. Our hotel also provides security measures such as full monitored of our security staff and a video surveillance in different points of the property. In addition to this, we cannot make any false accusations in any direction if we do not have any evidential proof. We extend our most sincere apologies one more time for this uncommon situation but without having any evidence, we cannot assume any responsibility. Please feel free to contact us for further assistance. Honestly, Federico Espinal General Manager Tropical Princess.

We stayed here for 11 days.
When we first checked in the reception staff couldn’t find our reservation from TUI and we had to forward them our confirmation via email to be allowed to check in. We had problems reserving restaurants due to this issue but the reception staff were able to book us in to the restaurants.
The a la carte restaurants we visited (Brazilian, Mexican, Italian and Japanese) were all very nice and the staff in there were very tentative. The food in the main buffet was nice and varied however the service was hit and miss, sometimes we were offered drinks immediately and other times we weren’t offered drinks at all. A couple of days in to our trip we were both struck down by awful stomach cramps and diarrhoea, we think this was caused by the food at the hotel. Chatting to other British guests they all had the same sickness.
The pool areas are nice but we found it extremely difficult to reserve sunbeds after 9am. We noticed a lot of sunbeds were reserved but many people did not return to their beds until late afternoon or not at all, it seems unfair that staff allow this to happen. As we found it difficult to reserve sunbeds by the pools we went to the beach a lot which was nice enough and plenty of spare beds. There are vendors on the beach but they do leave you alone if you say no thank you.
As the other reviews state, you do get a better service if you speak Spanish. It was difficult to get drinks from the beach and pool bars due to many Spanish guests being favoured by the bar staff. It is worth to note that the bar in reception, the sports bar and the beach top bar all provided us with excellent service.
The room we had was nice and the maids came in daily and stocked up on soft drinks and fresh towels.
The hotel grounds were lovely and the staff work very hard to maintain. Great to see all of the different turtles, birds and peacocks roaming around. There were vendors that came in to hotel on Wednesdays and were very persistent. Offering us free gifts but then trying to force you to buy very expensive gifts from their tables. Try to avoid them, although it is difficult as they take over the main area near the buffet.
We wouldn’t return to this hotel. Go somewhere else.

Lovely location and very well kept complex. The staff work very hard and are pleasant and friendly. The room was lovely but the cleaner was poor! Sometimes no towels sometimes 3 towels (for 2 people) but never any white sugar! Room 1231 if you wish to check :) Visited as a couple and I have to say the evenings were disappointing. The lobby bar was OK but a very flat feel to it but shout out to Winston who made things more bearable! The theatre where the entertainment was is like sitting on plastic school chairs and nowhere to put your drinks except on the floor! The enternaitinment team worked hard but it was nothing more than I would of got in Butlins! The food in the buffet is very varied, with a good selection every lunchtime and evening but ALWAYS cold, even if you went was it first opened. Staff in there are sometimes inattentive with no water/drinks offered. Even when we ate our main and went for dessert, the tables were cleared for the next guests. Pools and wildlife lovely :)

Firstly, if you're booking a family holiday here I would recommend upgrading to the 2 bedroom family room. We did this when we checked in and got an extremely good discount. The room did not disappoint, we even had a beautiful view of the sea.
The beach is absolutely stunning and there are plenty of sunbeds so you don't have to worry about getting down early to get a spot. It was always clean and tidy. There wasn't much seaweed at all and there was a tractor that came along every other day to rake the sand. We walked along the beach in both directions and found a few little souvenir shops.
There are 3 pools we tried all of them but preferred the one closest to the snack bar. It was a bit quieter and had the sun all day. There is a kids pool and a pool where the entertainment team are. The pools were always spotless and patio areas were cleaned down every night.
The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well kept. There was lots of wildlife to see too - birds, ducks, turtles, flamingos and Iguanas.
The buffet restaurant had a large selection of foods. Breakfast was probably our favourite meal of the day. We tried it a few times for lunch but found it easier to eat at the snack bar as it was next to the beach/pool. There was a different theme every night for dinner in the buffet. I would recommend booking the other restaurants especially the Italian and Asian. The Italian got booked up pretty quick. The sports bar was great too we did end up there a few nights as there wasn't anything my children wanted from the buffet. It was always a good back up plan if we couldn't get reservations and didn't want to go to the buffet and it's open 24 hours.
There was an entertainment show every night. The Michael Jackson tribute act was fantastic and is a must see. The circus act was also really good.
The shop in the resort is quite expensive, especially for any pool inflatables - if you can bring them from home I would. $45 for a lilo seemed pretty crazy to me!
Overall it was an amazing holiday and other than the shop prices I don't have any negative comments to make. Thank you Tropical Deluxe Princess for a perfect stay ☺️

Overall I had a good stay…. Please read the reviews and be aware. Upon arriving my hotel room door was ajar and not completely finished. I contacted the front desk and too my surprise they didn’t speak English and could not help. The bell man with my luggage helped me move. However the room I moved too had a towel on the bed, cup on the counter and safe did not work. A security guard came to my locked door and was able to open it. I asked was he there for the safe and de said no and I left. I called the front to get it fix. The repair man came attempted and I was phoned that I needed to move again and my room was not fit. I thankfully was upgraded for all my troubles. However, in the new room often times staff will knock and enter without waiting for you the arrive to the door and I’m a late riser.
Winston and the other bartenders at the front was amazing!! I enjoyed their hospitality. Melody was extremely helpful at guest services it’s best to make all reservation and accommodations upon check in because they book quick. Do not waste any vacation time on the royal club presentation, while walking to the spa I was stopped by Clara, said she would give me a 20 min spa coupon if I listened to the 60 min presentation it was 2hours and the presenters are aggressive and rudely unbiased. The other serves and hotel staff were friendly and helpful overall and I felt safe on a solo trip with the amount of security there. Pack your own wash cloths and towels they do not provide daily and it was a very long wait when you called down for some. Lastly, the people on the beach can be very aggressive it’s hard to sit by the water and relax when they’re constantly walking over to you. Choose solo sports for all activities they are right on the beach and extremely fun!! I may revisit

It was very enjoyable and we got to spend a lot of time in the water. We can drink the water and pop that is supplied each time our room gets cleaned. There are alot of activities that you can spend your exploring and there is a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, if you dont loke that then you can go to the multiple restaurants located there, you can also do archery with my friend Adonis.

Amazing time with the greatest treatment from all staff! We got the premium package which gave us great vip access! The beach bar had the best server Andres, he was absolutely amazing and came each time to refill our drinks as soon as it was empty. And the lobby bar was amazing ask for yafreisy or Santo for the absolute best drinks! Jin eye and Johan were always going around to make sure everyone was happy with their drinks and to ask for a refill. The rooms are very clean, big and have amazing views! They are all newly renovated and the whirlpool on the second floor was to die for! as soon as we came it their were fruits and champagne ready for us, the house keeper Rossy made sure to come back every single day to give us fresh new towels and make our room/mop the floors so it’s not sandy. The entertainment here is great everyday they come to the pool to play music and games for a couple hours and then later on after 8pm they have more entertainment like karaoke night or dancing. They love to engage people to have the best experience. The resort has about 6 small restaurants that you can go to each night for dinner, all of them are from different parts of the world so you never get bored of eating the same thing constantly. Their is a lot of wild life here as well from birds to turtles to flamingos it’s always a pleasure taking a walk and getting to see them all around! We tried to go to the beach everyday to get some lunch from Agustus, he is spectacular and makes sure that you are taken care of and welcomed. He even taught us some Spanish with Andres! I couldn’t be happier with my trip it was amazing my only complaint would be to remember to bring American money because they don’t exchange at the resort! Cheers #PuntaCanada

Same as in Canada. Wi-fi is really bad but at least devices were charged.
No, you have to book shuttle on your own.
They have a kids show at 8 and then an adult show at 9 every night. When we were there I didn't see any live music but they had a lap top in the lobby set up playing music on big speakers. So you could dance if you wanted. But as far as I could tell not much more than that.
It is a hard question. I did not recommend it, we were a group of 25 ... Again, I had issues so my opinion is very bias but it was honest. The hotel has to make changes ... my baby got sick and my niece and nephew. Now I remember I saw a little girl in one of the train rides with with a big rash... so I wont wish none of that for you and your family!
