Spent a lovely 2 weeks at this resort. Would not hesitate to go back. The architectural style of the buildings was tropical charm, a couple issues with our rooms were attended to quickly & satisfactorily. As I understand the hotel is now closed for renovations & remodeling, so no further room comments are warranted. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the 10 minute walk from Reception / Lobby to the resort area is jam-packed with nature, iguanas, ducks, geese, egrets, songbirds, peacocks, and turtles galore. There's constant Trolley service between the 2 areas for those with luggage or who are unable to make the walk. There is lots to do at this resort, with a tennis court, spa, water sports, pool activities, and of course, beach-walking. Staff are pleasant, friendly & helpful, right from those who tend your room, to the restaurant staff, to the bar tenders & waitresses and the front desk staff. Nina was such a great help to us, we wanted to mention her by name. Restaurants galore, not a bad meal was served and we our stay was 2 weeks. The Buffet was plentiful & varied, the a la carte restaurants were delicious and should have been busier, people don't know what they're missing. The Brazilian was exceptional, La Cava was delicious, there was Italian, Chinese, Mexican all worth trying as well. The beach area was relaxing, those peddling their wares were not pesky nor aggressive. The 3 pool areas were generally quieter & less populated (except the one with poolside activities & music). We met quite a few couples who come to this resort every year, some were on their 15th & 19th years. That says a lot. We had a lovely time at this resort, can't wait to see the renovated rooms. We hope they're keeping the tropical charm.

Arrived on 8.1.20 for 14 nights, check in very quick & efficient room quite basic & owing to be near the 24 hour very noisy beach bar decided to upgrade to a beach view room but to be honest $ 310 for the upgrade not worth it, food in the buffet very gd & also the Brazilian restaurant, not so gd was the Dominican one, booking these was hard work & antiquated, entertainment was dire & repetitive, all of the staff were great & the hotel grounds also with wildlife abundant, overall a good experience

During my stay in November of 2019 I ventured over to this hotel as it was the sister hotel of where I was staying. They have a nice disco near by called Arieto. Also the decor of the hotel seemed very nice. You can travel back and forth via a trolley. I enjoyed exploring this hotel. Side note, beware of taking transportation to Casino Avalon from this hotel. This casino is not affiliated with the hotel and they appear to be running unfair games out of this casino. This could ruin your vacation very fast.

A friend and I were here for a week. I can see why this is a Sunwing guest repeat resort! Pros: -Great location. 5 minute walk to the beach or less depending on where your room is. Lots of beach to walk along. -Beautiful hotel grounds - saw iguanas, flamingos, turtles and peacocks. The walk from the hotel lobby to the hotel buildings was about 5 minutes - relaxing and a slice of peaceful paradise among the sights and sounds of nature. Well spaced out grounds with 3 pools (one with a swim up bar) a beach snack bar, the creperie, and 24 hour beach bar. -There are souvenir shops near the reception area although it’s not obvious, they are actually open for business. -Good food - lots of buffet options. We also ate at the Brazilian, Mexican and Italian a la cartes and all were delicious! -We did one excursion through Sunwing to Saona Island with our tour guide Tito. We didn’t opt to add on snorkeling. It took about 1.5 hours by bus to get to Bayahibe Bay which included stopping at a few other hotels to pick up other guests. At Bayahibe Bay we took a 2 hour catamaran ride to the island. Once there we had a delicious lunch and then had 2 hours to enjoy the Caribbean water and the beauty of this island. Back to Bayahibe Bay was a 1 hour speedboat ride with a stop at the blue lagoon to wade with starfish which was really neat! We also had some time to browse at a gift store on our return trip. I highly recommend seeing this slice of paradise! -At our resort we also parasailed and booked this with Pino from SeaPro. They are the guys in red shirts with a kiosk on the beach. He was great to deal with. Cons: -Older rooms although nothing horrible. We didn’t spend a lot of time in our room. We didn’t have a toilet paper holder otherwise the room was fine. -The water was wavier than expected on a few days. Such is nature and didn’t keep us from going in. -The courtyard vendors outside the buffet were very pushy, be persistent if you aren’t interested. I found the vendors on the beach weren’t as aggressive. Extra: -There is a currency exchange kiosk in the hotel lobby as well as 2 bank machines within a 10 minute walk off the hotel grounds. -When leaving the Punta Cana airport each person needs to have $20 USD departure fee. I would go back to this hotel!
