My family and I took our fourth trip to this resort in 2021 and are due to return this summer. Although we have travelled all over the Caribbean, we choose to return here again and again for its warm hospitality, outstanding natural beauty, and value for money. The resort is enormous, and offers virtually every amenity, cuisine, and activity. The best thing about the resort is the team working there. I stayed here for 17 days during the pandemic at the Palace Hotel (don't ask!) and made friends with virtually everyone working there then. The guest services manager, Carlos Kingsley, and the Indian chef, Mr Singh, went out of their way to take care of me and remain good friends. The Italian food was also incredible, and the chef personally prepared dishes for my birthday. Thank you, Palladium, and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon!…
a great place with amazing outdoor schemes, adventures, and activities. awesome place to visit with family and friends. i came with my family and had a great time in punta cana, the hotel made it 10 times better. totally recommend. excellent animation, joel a golden boy jajajaja.luis
The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The pools nicely laid out but I found that there were never enough lounge chairs. Providing regular chairs as an option would have been nice. You obviously had to get there early to claim your chair(s). Everything was kept very clean. It would have been nice to have more shopping options. The only way to see what else the resort had via a tour was to go with the time-share guys who were constantly circling (at least that is the only offer we received).
What an amazing time lovely hotel and Joel was so attentive with pool activities and Michael the bartender/waiter is the best!!! ❤️ The kids club very nice and the hotel itself very clean only suggestion is that they have more availability in the restaurants.
Let me start with experience the first few days. My husband and I arrived May 5, check-in was fast but the first room we were given had 2 beds and was so far away from the beach and pool. The guy that took us to the room was nice enough to call the front desk and have them give us another room with 1 bed. But we decided to upgrade our room (building 2000) to be closer to the beach and pool, crazy thing is that my parents were there just 2 weeks before and they didn’t have to pay for their room that was in the same vicinity (building 3000). I guess they pick and choose, no idea. On Monday night our room (2011) that we upgraded to kept losing power. They sent maintenance over and he would fix it and as soon as he left the power would go off again. Finally, at midnight they said we needed to change rooms. And we moved to the room next door, so annoying. The food itself was not great, at the buffets by the time you sit down the food is cold. We tried the Japanese restaurant and Tex-Mex and that was good. Booking the restaurants is a hassle. They are all booked up, you have to look very early in the morning and get it for a few days out. The beach, we would get there at 8:30am and all the chairs were already taken up by towels. I don’t know what time people would wake up to “reserve” these seats, but it was frustrating. The chairs that would be free were in the sun. The water was dirty the first 2 days, I mean dirty as in a lot of seaweed, but I know there’s not much that can be done. The pool was the same thing, people would “reserve” their seats bright and early. That was the most annoying part. Now, to the worst part of my trip. To go back to the US we needed a negative Covid Test, we took it the day before we were leaving and I tested Positive and my husband was negative. So they told me I would be moved to a part of the hotel that just has people with Covid, I tested positive around 9am and I was in my old room with my husband until about 4pm maybe a little earlier. The room they moved me too, the tv goes in and out and I was not been able to connect to the wifi. I called guest services at both Punta Cana and Barvaro and everyone says they will speak to someone, put a ticket in and still nobody has come. It’s the next day. Also, I left the tooth paste with my husband and I was also calling asking for toothpaste, they kept saying they sent someone and would even reach out a supervisor and still nobody came. When I ordered my room service the guy that brought it was so nice and I told him I needed toothbrush and he came back with 2 kits. Finally, a girl showed up and she gave me towels which I did not ask for. I told her that I had been asking for toothpaste and she looked confused and said she would be back. She never came back. If it wasn’t for the room service guy (Franklin) I would still be waiting. One morning I spoke to Dolores at guest services at Punta Cana and asked if my husband could leave some stuff for them to bring me and she said yes. That was a little before 8am and I didn’t’ get my stuff into later in the day. Trying to get ahold of someone was difficult and when I did they were completely useless. Mind you I speak Spanish, I can’t imagine someone stuck her that doesn’t speak Spanish. The only thing is they did pay for me to stay here there an extra 5 days, but when I say the customer service has been terrible since the moment I moved rooms I mean it. It was definitely a scary time, and like I mentioned Franklin from room service was amazing, he got me through the days. Also, I called Punta Cana and asked to speak to a supervisor HerMias. Hopefully I spelled it right I told him all the problems I as having and he said he would call me back. I told him everyone said that and nobody ever did, and he said “If I say I’m going to call you back I will call you back”. Surprise surprise he never called back. I am posting This review is a few months later, but I did write it while I was sitting in my room terrified. Definitely will not be back to this resort.…
This resort is very nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our cleaning person was very nice and always left little flowers for us when she cleaned. The adult pool was nice but the frozen drinks were not that good. They should have some activities there along with music. The Hemmingway bar made the best drinks and have live music at 11pm. We went every night. The Espresso Martini was amazing and so was the Chinola Colada. All of the staff there was amazing. If I had to change something about the resort it would be the fact that you have to make reservations for all of the Al a carte restaurants and we could not get one every night even though we went to guest service the night we got there but the buffet restaurants were delicious
Went with a large group of friends and had the most lackluster experience at a resort that I’ve ever encountered. Most of the staff were either unable or unwilling to communicate in English. Reservations at restaurants are impossible to obtain and nothing came close to wowing us to overcome the negatives we experienced.
My family and I booked a vacation at this resort this past week. Well where do I start? First off, the rooms were super small. We paid almost $2900 total for 7 days, I expected much better rooms like the pictures had shown on the website. Our jacuzzi was filthy. The blinds had brown stains all over them. The floor was not clean. Our sheets had stains on them and our pillows gave off such a foul mildew odor. One of our sinks had a clog. I went to the front desk to complain and at that time they told me they didn’t have any available rooms to switch and did not offer any compromise for our issues. A gentleman called on day 2 and asked if everything was okay with the rooms. I told him everything that was wrong. He did have someone come and fix the sink and bring more pillows, but even those didn’t smell great. Clearly when they wash them, they’re not allowing them to dry properly. I went back to the front desk on day 3 and the representative told us that she could “possibly” switch us to another room the following day after 4pm. After a discussion with my husband, since we were leaving within a few days, we didn’t think it made since you pack up our luggage (ourselves and our 3 kids). On day 3, I walked back to our room so my son could use the bathroom. When I arrived, there were two men on our balcony. I asked them what they were doing and they said “no habla ingles.” One of them pulled out their phones to translate and they said that they were sent to replace the patio bed. I feel like this is something that the front desk should have told us would take place and I shouldn’t have had to walk back to our room to find that out. We had no idea that the patio bed needed to be replaced anyway. Buffet food was not that great. Many choices but it was not very tasty. We tried all 3 buffets and all left the same impression. I did give a star because the Japanese restaurant was nice. El dorado and La Adelita restaurant were both just okay. William at the pool bar was also awesome and made sure that we had a good time while we were there. There was a total of 19 family members split between 6 rooms and every single room had issues. Two of our family members had to switch rooms due to other issues (water leaks, cockroaches, filthy linen, etc) but they will be doing their own reviews. We also filled out incident reports at the front desk. In the future when we return to Punta Cana, we will NOT consider staying at the Grand Palladium!…
This trip was as mediocre as you can get. Transportation was the first and worst problem. We ordered a van to get us to hotel. When we got to the airport…..no van there. They couldn’t get us one. So we had to pay our own way there. They also would not pay us back or do anything to make it right. Food was the same mediocre food every day. No changes. Our phone in room didn’t work and they didn’t do anything about it when told about it. Uno momento means never there. Don’t hold your breath for anything. Food at specialty restaurants were better then buffet, but still had problems with the exception of habatchi. That was actually a really good dinner. Not going back there again
The food, the main pool, the live music, the bar at the pool is very convenient,,Vicky in the behique was the best always taking care of us!! The bathroom is uncomfortable because it’s a jacuzzi and you have to step in and it could be dangerous, we just need shower we travel with 2 kids
