The only criticism of the ensuite was the awkward location of the shower/bath taps which couldn’t be reached without standing in the bath due to the fixed shower screens... We Booked a trip to Cantalina island that was supposed to be better for snokelling through TUI but was disappointed that it was a 3 hour transfer each way to the boat location in La Romana and didn’t see that many fish so be aware when planning your trip...

    ...I gave this resort a 3 but I would have given it a 1 maybe a 2 if it wasn’t for the exceptional food, the room was average, our jetted tub didn’t work, and the shower leaked and was held up by a screw nail (as you can see in the photo), everywhere and when I complained on the second day it was not fixed at all by our 7th day at the resort, the customer service at this location was a bit to be desired as there wasn’t any if they weren’t in the lobby, other resort offer beach service this place had none, you had to leave where you were sitting to get drinks or even a snack...

    ...When you arrive you can access the app to book the a la Carte restaurants but to be honest I would advise you to have a look at the menus and see which ones you like & book it through guest services all at once (you can book a week in advance) The only downside for me was a lot of people gathering around the pool bars especially at weekends as they have only come for a long weekend & playing loud music through speakers! They have music by the pool but listening to 3 or 4 genres at once can be rather challenging!... I would definitely recommend the Chic Cabaret but there is an extra charge for this...

Our air conditioner wasn’t working properly and after being promised someone would be there in 10 minutes, well 6 hours later when we came back for the night it still wasn’t fixed and the room was 75 degrees and stuffy... We called down to the front desk, they sent someone and the solve was to move us rooms to sleep for the night... We even had someone at the front desk assist with booking reservations and she screwed them up with wrong days and even room numbers...

    we arrived 12.30 at night to the hotel due to a flight delay, and were asked to walk to our room, if this was a 5 star hotel we would have been taken with our luggage via a buggy. the room 6718 was very tired to say the least, the curtains had small holes, the shower would not stay up, we had to use a wooden box to climb into the shower, the water in the sinks would take an age to flush away therefore you could not keep the tap on constantly whilst using it, all 3 drawers in the wardrobe were broken, the food in the buffet was barely warm...

We did have an issue in our room on arrival as the shower was broken but this was sorted quickly after we spoke with our cleaner who organised the repair... Our room was a little tired and needing a refresh but it was more than adequate for our stay... We did request a room with a balcony and a pool view so we’re disappointed we ended up with a ground floor room looking over the sports complex...

    It took me two hours to check in to a room!... I had to warn I would report the employees to corporate in order to actually speak to a manager who then checked us into one out of the two rooms we had because the other still wasn’t ready... In order to make things more convenient I tried to make reservations while we waited, but the concierge said that I wouldn’t be able to make any reservations until I had my room number which was after the gentleman at the front desk said I would be able to... But again the check in process took me two hours so by the time I got my room number 3/4 nights we stayed were completely booked for every restaurant or at least that’s what I was told...

This room the refrigerator was broken and so was the bathtub (it moved back and forth and wasn't secure)... I requested another room and the male staff member helping me got mad I requested another room and yelled in my face... He took off and then after about 20 minutes I was given a third room where my air conditioner did not work, light fixtures next to the bed were broken and hanging off the wall and the electricity went out frequently for long periods of time... When I went through the booklet it was discounts you receive of up to $1500 (this is what was advertised as your $1500 hotel room credit) It had lots of stipulations to use them with spending requirements...

I don’t want to be someplace that only cares about their members—we paid a lot through JetBlue vacations for this —too much to have to wait at a bar for 10 minutes to get a drink, to have no waiter make eye contact when you need more water or coffee, to have only one choice for dinner beyond the buffet because there are no reservations available anywhere... Would never return and would not recommend for anyone... Can’t comment on the other hotels on the property but this one was awful...

    It is a beautiful place with good food and nice staff. We had a great time overall and would go back, but had three issues (1) a bad experience at an a la carte restaurant that brought our food late and cold (two other a la carte restaurants gave us great meals; so this was a bit of an anomaly), (2) too many sales pitches for one thing or another from people who interrupted what you were doing (3) a recurring issue at the buffet restaurants where you could not get your own water and the staff took too much time to bring it...

When i checked out i had to walk from my room to the lobby with all my luggage because noone picked me up even though i was with my 4 year old... Staff are bad mannered in most restaurants (buffets specially), not everyone of course, but most... Getting something to drink in a buffet (coca cola or coffee) is an impossible feat....     We enjoyed a lovely stay at this hotel... Booking the restaurants was extremely easy though the app and we never had an issue getting a time to suit... We did have an issue in our room on arrival as the shower was broken but this was sorted quickly after we spoke with our cleaner who organised the repair... Our room was a little tired and needing a refresh but it was more than adequate for our stay... During our stay it was my birthday and the hotel delivered a lovely cake to our room which was a nice thought... Amazing service and cocktails galore!... A special shout out to Luis, Golden Boy and Poco Pelo... Very friendly and always made sure you never felt left out...

    ...The buffet for breakfast you were seated you got served water and that was it.. on most days trying to get a coffee cutlery was impossible... I think water was replenished 3 times in the 2 weeks that we were there.... I must say a big thanks to golden boy who keeps everyone entertained around the pool with zumba and pool aerobics and also I need to mention red bull who was great teaching archery which we absolutely enjoyed.... There are is a train that takes you from one place to the other.... The grounds are beautiful but its the service that needs to be improved in the buffets and rooms...

    A group of friends and I booked this trip through JetBlue Vacations... I decided to call and inquire and I was then moved to a second room... I requested another room and the male staff member helping me got mad I requested another room and yelled in my face... When my friend who could speak spanish arrived a few days later he could translate and the staff appeared to be more pleasant... I also was told of a hotel room credit through JetBlue when booking but when I arrived no one mentioned it until I tried to book a spa day and a special dinner... Then when my friend I mentioned earlier arrived a few days later into our trip he was given a coupon book in total of $1500 in discounts... I then went to the lobby because I was never given one upon checking in and I guess I was supposed to...

    We had issue with the main door of the room after the breakfast, we walked 2 times to the lobby, they re-did the card but it was not working( at this time it was 9AM). The maid was there, she tried his card but same thing, she tell me it was probably the batteries... We walked again to the lobby, they tell us they will send someone in 5-10 minutes... we waited there for an hour, nobody came... (10AM)We saw the maid manager, we asker her if she can do something, she asked the maintenance guy to replace the batteries so we stayed near at the pool... i go again at the lobby ans i asked again guest service to see if they did something, she told me i have 2 request in the system, they will come... i told her nobody come since the last 2 hours... we checked at noon if the door was working and no!... I was really pissed off so i go again to the lobby asking the guest service... they told me again someone was going there soon... Finally they changed the batteries at 2PM...

    I appreciated my 2 week stay at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana... Food, room, service is very good overall... But no problem in the morning getting regular coffee... During the weekend, lots of locals come in and the service is a lot slower... I talked to guest serices, the reception.... but no answer... Nobody showed up and I just gave up and left...     ...I gave this resort a 3 but I would have given it a 1 maybe a 2 if it wasn’t for the exceptional food, the room was average, our jetted tub didn’t work, and the shower leaked and was held up by a screw nail (as you can see in the photo), everywhere and when I complained on the second day it was not fixed at all by our 7th day at the resort, the customer service at this location was a bit to be desired as there wasn’t any if they weren’t in the lobby, other resort offer beach service this place had none, you had to leave where you were sitting to get drinks or even a snack. The resort was nice for what you paid for, but still lacked a lot of services for being a 5 star resort as they called themselves... We did receive some excellent service from a few of the staff I give these staff members a 10star rating which made our stay exceptional... Carmen at Behique buffet JOHUAN the front lobby concierge was excellent made all are restaurant reservations for the week for us... All the serving staff at La Lola on Friday October 14th at dinner, very attentive and anticipating our every move the whole night there... But remember what you pay versus what you get are different for everyone...

    ...After reading several reviews we decided to book the Grand Palladium. Let me start with the positives…you can’t beat 80 degree weather and ocean views during the winter months... The Zenteopia spa was great and with a service you can use the Hydrotherapy pool for the day... It’s very relaxing and there is a healthy bar attached that provides finger sandwiches, fresh smoothies and fruit... The grounds are pretty and well manicured... Our rooftop jacuzzi took well over an hour to fill just half way... We called down to the front desk, they sent someone and the solve was to move us rooms to sleep for the night... Lastly, we were given $1500 resort credits…they are a joke a little bit here and there...

    The hotel is located about 20–30 minutes away from the airport. Upon our arrival, it was a quick check-in, and we were accompanied to our room with a friendly staff member... The room (with garden view) was large and clean... The bed was comfortable and the pillows very fluffy (perfect for side sleepers)... It is so high that they put a step stool and grab handles on the wall to help you climb into the bathtub/shower... The breakfast/lunch buffet (Behique) had quite a large and appetizing selection... The staff is courteous and quick to serve... The à la carte restaurants that we tried (La Paisana, Bamboo and Lola) had very nice menus... There was a lifeguard at the pool and there were plenty of chairs and shade for everyone... Overall, we liked our stay at this 4.5-star resort...

We booked the steak house and Italian (it was hard to get a reservation) It did take a while for drinks at the buffet and a few times they didn’t come at all... There was plenty to eat, plenty to drink, the pools were spotless and the gardens were well kept... The mini fridge in the room was restocked daily... Wifi was the best I’ve had worldwide, it even worked on the beach... People complaining their showers flooded the bedrooms, there’s a door that opens from the bath to the bedroom so u can sit in the bath and talk to the person in the bedroom, if you’re showering, use a bit of common sense and close it...

    Grand Palladium was a great resort for our multi-generational family vacation with a range of ages from teens to 70+... If you love activities head to the main family pool at Palladium Punta Cana where Jose and the POP staff like Dawin and Golden Boy keep you busy all day long with games, and activities but if that is not your style, there are other pool options as well... Beach is beautiful, water warm and you can walk for miles…a lot of seaweed did accumulate over the week we were there, but not sure if this is typical... Family suite allowed for adjoining rooms but also afforded space and privacy for everyone... Villa style was so nice and we did spend time on our balcony too... Thanks for making our daughter’s bday a special one as well by sending her a cake and helping us hang some balloons by the loungers!... Your staff is an amazing asset- friendly, kind, and helpful at all times!...

It made it fun for us, and a good learning experience... It helped that the weather was great too, no rain, we played in the mornings between 8 to 11 am, before it got too hot, and some of us played in the afternoon, 4 to 5 pm...     Traveling with three small children we needed a resort that had it all; pools, beach, kids club and nightlife... The breakfast buffet was plentiful and offered every food option imaginable... The waitstaff were extremely kind and attentive!... The pools are fun for all and our littlest family members loved the pirate ship pool... We did manage one steak night at El Dorado and Italian night at Portofino... Any issues we had with our rooms were quickly addressed... The bathrooms need to be repaired: drain plugs were missing, shower fixtures need repair, and the AC was "on" but not cooling the rooms... Fortunately there are ceiling fans in the rooms, that kept the air moving...

Staff spend more time selling packages to reach commission goals than to fielding requests and making folks' stays enjoyable... There was a fresh juice bar that was delicious... I would have preferred a large bottle of water per person staying in the room each day vs. one to share... Please do yourself a favor and book another resort. Basic amenities do not work in this resort and the staff is completely unhelpful and does not care. - AC wasn't working in the room throughout the 8 nights we were there. The 1st 3 people from maintenence just said "it was working" when the temperature failed to go below 26 degree Celsius. Next day got a different maintenence guy who at least opened up the vents and acknowledged that there was an issue. He said he fixed it and the room should be cooler in 20 mins - diid not happen. Got Miguel the supervisor involved the next night who said that they need a few hours and will have his team work on it all day next day. Gave them 6 hours when we were outside the room and they didn't bother even trying to fix anything. This was day 3. When I confronted guest services they flat off refused to do anything about it, refused to connect me with a supervisor or someone from the corporate office to get this escalated. No staff gets the balls to do this unless encouraged by management. Guest services would call everyday to check if everything was OK and we would raise this issue - they would say we would make a report and then do nothing about it - for 8 nights! - Minibar would not cool anything. Raised this issue every day and was ignored every single day. - They are running an Indian restaurant without an Indian chef. Imagine the food quality and variety. The manager at the restaurant did hid best to make the most of a bad situation but one has to wonder- why do they not have an Indian chef for an extended duration of time? Why not hire one as a backup if the current chef is on vacation fir an extended period. - Housekeeping did not clean our room for multiple days in spite of multiple phone calls and them saying they will send someone right away. In the end we did not even have clean towels and I requested them to send some right away which again they said yes to but never did. Finally I had to miss a show to stay on top of this with the front desk to get the room cleaned. - We got locked out of our room with our luggage inside right before our flight on check out day. We almost missed the flight and the front desk person kept telling us to wait until someone arrives to fix the issue. They were very lax and showed no sense of urgency in spite of us repeatedly telling them that we would miss our flight. It took over an hour for maintenence staff to arrive and open the room. Don't waste your precious trip!

What can I say! We are literally on our way home now after 11 amazing days staying here and missing it already! We were 2 families of 4 and think we can speak for them to when I say how welcoming they are all there, the reception staff were great and always very helpful as were the ladies who helped book the restaurants. The guys around the pool the entertainment team - Chocolate, Coco Cola and Coffee were just brilliant, always made the effort to come and speak to people around the pool and were very good with their activities and entertaining to that’s both day and night!! The guys around the pool were always there for drinks and kept us topped up, and the guys in the towel hut were great to always happy to swap the wet towels for dry clean ones for us. The food in the buffet was great plenty of choice and always something for the two vegetarians on our party. They do have restaurants there which get booked up very quickly La Lola - Tapas avoid it! Awful and we left half way through, as was Bhogali - Indian was just an ok, the steak restaurant Eldorado average! Steaks just put in the table with no idea what or who’s was who’s!! Now for the BEST - Sumptuori this was absolutely amazing the food the atmosphere the staff, was that good we went twice!!! The rooms - We have a garden view and a Loft room and both were lovely and very good on size, our friends had a little problem after the rain storms with cockroaches and that was sorted by reception with a can of spray!! This was our first time visiting the Dominican and will definitely not be the last. Overall this is a beautiful clean and tidy hotel with brilliant staff and always plenty of food choice even for the picky eaters!!!

I would not recommend staying here. My parents are members of the grand palladium group and have had amazing experiences in Mexico and Ibiza, so we were expecting a lot and honestly, staying here has stopped us from becoming members. Everything was poor except for the food. We went as a party of 6 and my brother, his partner and baby got locked inside the room due to the lock failing and when we asked what would happen if there was a fire, the staff said ‘you have a balcony, throw them over’ and laughed. Our room had several leaks to where my partner almost slipped. They took days and several trips to guest services’ to get fixed. The majority of staff were awful and made you feel like an issue rather than wanting to help. Some staff were lovely, though but the amount of bad staff members outweighed this unfortunately. When we spoke to other people staying in the hotel they all seemed to feel the same as this! So yes, not the worst hotel we’ve stayed in, but I’d say it’s in the bottom 3.

Sometimes it's the staff that makes a great vacation. Our recent stay at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana was made great by Gilberto. He is a server who took extra care of us and my coffee cup was never empty. He provided friendly fast efficient service. If it was up to me, I would give him a raise and promotion. It's friendly people like him that keep us coming back. His English is very good and he's always very pleasant. Thank you Gilberto for your wonderful service and good humor!!

Visually everything is beautiful. Pools lobby restaurants but it’s only visually. To start you go there to try to relax but every 5 mins your having to say no to some one. The very first minute you get in your trapped into a breakfast to try to sell you a time share. When you say no they get mad and those “guest service” members won’t even look at you anymore. When your at the pool trying to relax there is guys walking around selling trips, excursions, diving, spa services, fotos of you. Then they set up booths and harass anyone that walks by to buy they jewelry or mystery drinks. You can’t relax at all just have to keep saying no thanks, not now. There is moments I was having to walk in different directions and go around the long way so I didn’t have to walk by those guys again because they would make it impossible to not buy something. The big issue though is food! All restaurants you go to are beautiful! Food is displayed beautifully but it’s just a visual thing. The food is TERRIBLE! Has no flavor, no taste but worst it not in the correct temperature at all. What is supposed to be hot is cold and what is supposed to be cold is hot. My wife got food poisoning from there. She was nauseas, diarrhea, body and stomach ache. We went to the clinic and she got there with 39.7 C fever. They called the ambulance and took her to the emergency room because the fever was way too high. After many tests and scans they saw her intestine was all inflamed because of some food she ate. When we were at the clinic still the doc there called the concierge and we explained what happened and all she told us was no one else is complaint that they are sick so the resort won’t pay for anything and that we will have to pay for all these bills ourself and she hung up the phone on us. We had been at the resort for 4 days literally only eating food from them. Ended up costing us $2,500 for all of this medical expenses. Our stay was supposed to be there for 3 more days but how could we stay there with my wife extremely sick and still having high fever so I got us tickets back home the next day in the morning. We got back to the hotel at 2:30am and we left at 9am to go to the airport. We were not helped by the check out person at all as he said we wouldn’t get reimbursed by the days we were gonna check out early. I didn’t wanna argue there as I just didn’t have the mental capacity for it at that time. I’m hoping they will contact me and help resolve this. But I would not come here!

Regarding your wife's gastrointestinal symptoms, we are very sorry to receive such comments and hope that your wife is feeling better as of today. I would like to inform you and assure you that for the Palladium Hotel Group, the safety and well-being of our guests is very important, a non-negotiable priority that we take very seriously. In fact, every day our internal Quality Department checks the traceability of the food in all our restaurants. I would also like to inform you, for your peace of mind and that of all our guests, that our hotel is part of the HS Consulting program, a prestigious international company based in Spain, which oversees all our food handling, health and safety standards. This company, in conjunction with our Hygiene and Quality Department, performs periodic inspections with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, one of the most effective systems that helps evaluate all levels of quality in food and beverage, swimming pools. Our complex, with almost 2000 rooms, is catalogued and certified by HS Consulting as a safe hotel for its quality and high standards. In addition, we would like to point out that HS Consulting is currently training all of our Food and Beverage Department employees, focusing on hygiene and food handling. It is important to emphasize that this is done on a monthly basis. Of course, we would like to assure you that we will be reviewing all our procedures very carefully, especially those related to food handling in the kitchens of all our restaurants, in order to prevent any kind of problem that could affect the health and well-being of our mutual guests. We were upgraded and paid an additional $500 for a loft suite. The first suite we were brought to was being remolded and the tvs were on the bed and there was trash on the floor. The second room/suite we were brought to had ceiling panels dangling from the ceiling with water dripping down from the ceiling, dirty towels in the bathroom and around the sink and the floor was dirty and had trash on it. We were then finally brought to a room that they considered an upgrade because it was by the pool but it was only 2 full beds and a sofa sleeper. We were promised by the next day that a suite would be available and we would be refunded the first night for the upgrade. Long story short, we never got the upgraded room. We ended up being in two separate rooms that were right next to each other. Upon check out, they had no idea about the refund for the first time even though the staff upon check in said it would be ready for us. We were bounced back from lobby to lobby to deal with charges that were supposed to be comped. I was told that I should have been at check out earlier even though I was there 40 minutes before the arrival of our transportation. They finally let us leave after talking to the Operations Director. By the time we got to the airport, we only had 20 minutes to spare before boarding the plane, therefore we could not get lunch and had to order snacks on the plane because this resort could not get anything straight.

We stayed at the punta cana grand palladium and it was the absolute worst experience. The key cards for the hotel room had not worked since we checked in and we are on day 3 and the problem has not been resolved. You are required to attend the lobby tell them you need a bus boy who are never around to let you in. This can be frustrating depending where your room maybe as it may be a far walk and you have to do this each time you want into your room. So once you leave your room don’t make any plans on coming back any time. The staff are just ok some could give two f&(:& about you staying there. We ordered room service as we did not want the hassle of having to find a bell boy to let us in after we go to a restaurant. We order food at 230 to be delivered at 330 but when the food didn’t arrive I gave it an hour to call at which time I was told they just noticed my order.
