The resort has everything you could ask for. Friendly and happy staff. Food was great especially the a la cartes. The Swedish massage was so relaxing and professional. What else can I say other than we could not be happier. I want to go back already !
What can I say! We are literally on our way home now after 11 amazing days staying here and missing it already! We were 2 families of 4 and think we can speak for them to when I say how welcoming they are all there, the reception staff were great and always very helpful as were the ladies who helped book the restaurants. The guys around the pool the entertainment team - Chocolate, Coco Cola and Coffee were just brilliant, always made the effort to come and speak to people around the pool and were very good with their activities and entertaining to that’s both day and night!! The guys around the pool were always there for drinks and kept us topped up, and the guys in the towel hut were great to always happy to swap the wet towels for dry clean ones for us. The food in the buffet was great plenty of choice and always something for the two vegetarians on our party. They do have restaurants there which get booked up very quickly La Lola - Tapas avoid it! Awful and we left half way through, as was Bhogali - Indian was just an ok, the steak restaurant Eldorado average! Steaks just put in the table with no idea what or who’s was who’s!! Now for the BEST - Sumptuori this was absolutely amazing the food the atmosphere the staff, was that good we went twice!!! The rooms - We have a garden view and a Loft room and both were lovely and very good on size, our friends had a little problem after the rain storms with cockroaches and that was sorted by reception with a can of spray!! This was our first time visiting the Dominican and will definitely not be the last. Overall this is a beautiful clean and tidy hotel with brilliant staff and always plenty of food choice even for the picky eaters!!!…
Great place, good food, great staff. Lots of music, lots of entertainment, you’ll never get bored. Joel, Candy, all amazing people. I love Dominican, and this resort made my Dominican experience even better!!!
Very minimal problems overall, until some leakage on the last night due to the shower design. The beach was rough due to the storms. The food was great and service at bars was exceptional. Service could have been more attentive at buffet halls - getting a coffee or cappuccino was very hard most days. I don't even care much to be served, I just wish I had the option to grab a coffee/cappuccino myself!
Shuttle service is very bad. Room assignment takes 4 hours. Every where tips only works. Difficult to get the directions with in the property. Same food every where. Poor quality of food. Even fruits are not great.
Was a bad experience with check in process I had to fill up 2 forms manually really in the 2022?, with a lot of information think receptionist needs to do it no me :) , not towels card, bad key cards i had to return to the reception 2 times to te-configure it, for me is not 5 stars is a 3 stars and I couldn’t reserve any restaurant .
I really love this this place only really think I can say is there’s a lot of deficiencies at the room level. But I’d say don’t fix them if your planing to re do all these in units future. Other then that the food taste ca come up on curtain things food prep seasons salts and vinegars not the food itself. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience.
For all of the reason i tell you before i never go back to your place.its the first time i want go back to my home because all the situation appened at your hotel.you have good people at the snack bar at the beach take exemple of them they are the people we want see everywhere.
We stayed at Grand punta Cana in Nov 2022. while resort is decent , people are great but language is barrier and many time non spqnish guests are ignored due to language barrier. Main issue was food for vegetarian (no eggs/meat/seafood). either staff didn't understood or didn't care. only options they had was boiled vegetables and salads /fruits . any other options were cross containimated. Hotel should create vegetarian section. it is true for buffet or a la carte restaurant.
Not a 5-star resort, at all! Nice property and decent selection of good food, but horrible service and ignorant personnel. No one speaks English and most do not smile. Those who pretend to understand English give you wrong information because they *pretend* to understand. We were sent to wrong locations and were given wrong opening and closing times every time we asked. One thing in common that all of the personnel had was that they were unable to use their brain. They can't wrap their heads around something as simple as printing a receipt or sending a digital version of it, so don't even bother to ask. There's no single place where all the details about the restaurants and activities would be listed. Even the app does not include all of the details, and many app features are not functional. We lost an entire day when we arrived because the reception desk personnel ignored us and all other guests. We had to switch lines 3 times because the front desk people would suddenly leave without saying anything, so we had to move to the end of a different line and start all over. After we were able to speak to the reception, they had us come back several times because they did not have the rooms ready, and then they ran out of the room keys. After spending 5 hours in the lobby, we were finally able to get the room keys, without which the guest service had refused to make reservations for restaurants. However, by the time we got the room keys, we were told it was too late to make reservations for the next... not one, not two... three days! After arguing with them for the rest of the day, we were promised restaurant reservations if we agreeed to listen through a time share presentation, which we did. But when we came to the restaurant, it turned out they had only reserved 2 spots instead of 7 (we were a party of 7). After a 2-hour wait, we were finally able to get to one of the restaurants, which we regretted later because the service was so bad that the appetizers came after we had desert, and service was non-existent. Speaking of supplies, they seem to run out of everything, be it room keys, milk, whipped cream, alcohol, or coupons that were supposed to be a part of the package deal... No one gave us any instructions on anything when we checked it. We only found out there was an app 4 days into our stay. We left generous tips 5 days in a row till we realized that tips didn't get us any better service. For example, we left a $15 tip for a waiter, which he gladly took and almost immediately told us we had to leave because "another party is coming." Mind you, my son did not even finish his desert yet! As for shopping, to give you an idea of the pricing, Vitamin C from the resort pharmacy cost us $50. ___________ no comment. The entertainment team was unprofessional, to say the least. What they called a "cooking show" was just watching a dead-scilent man who did not interact with the audience to place pre-sliced cheese on pre-sliced tomatoes. And that was... the "cooking show"! The "dancers" who walked around to pull the guests to the dance floor were amateurs who had no idea how to lead and were utterly doing a half-arse job. One of the entertainment people approached me with a question about my age and added 10 years to my actual age. I understand he was trying to make a conversation, but there are better ways to do it, especially if I did not ask for an evaluation of my appearance and considering I am a female. But of course, everyone wanted to be tipped. Throughout the entire stay, we were harrassed by never ending sales people who expected tips for just being there. So if you think sea weed during an off-season is the reason not to go, I can assure you the sea weed was the least of the problems during our stay. Such experience has not only ruined my vacation and made me want to never visit this resort again, but also it has made me not want to visit Domenican Republic again, considering that this was not the first time I've received bad service at DR. That's why an average cost of vacation in DR is so much cheaper than everywhere else! An extra $200 per person will get you a far better vacation somewhere in Mexico.…
