At the Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino, guests have called out the picturesque beachfront location and an array of onsite activities as highlights. While many travelers enjoy the lively atmosphere and entertainment offerings, others find the noise levels intrusive when seeking tranquility. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with commendations for tidy grounds but criticism of housekeeping. Room comfort is compromised by maintenance and air conditioning issues, and while the pools and entertainment earn praise, the value is questioned due to hidden costs and aggressive upselling.

As the comments and suggestions of others were tremendously helpful as we prepared for our trip, we wanted to pay it forward with the info we used most! We booked a week at the Grand Palladium Palace Resort and Spa through Apple Vacations. Upon arrival in Punta Cana, our Amstar (the local management company for Apple) rep, Erison, met us and ensured our safe delivery to the Resort. Attentive and helpful, Erison also secured reservations for the NYE gala dinner and the a la carte restaurants our group of 11 dined at the last four nights of the trip. Sadly, the concierge desk was of no help in that department and kept telling us to come back later. Muchas gracias, Erison, for working to make the reservations happen! As for the property itself, it was a beautiful location in the middle of resort row and is comprised of four different hotels, three of which are included in the Grand Palladium experience. You can dine at any of the buffets and swim in any of the pools for these three properties. The buffets were what one would expect of such a large establishment; the food was fine and a wide variety of cuisines were available, but nothing to write home about. The food, both hot and cold, were mostly lukewarm, but again, to be expected at such large buffets. Options were more limited for a vegetarian diner, but no one went hungry. The buffets only felt truly crowded on NYE day and NY day (no one’s fault, just more people!). The best food was definitely at the a la carte restaurants: Sumptuori (teppanyaki dining), La Lola (tapas), and El Dorsado (steak house) were all delicious and had the best staff attending to us! As we had a never ending revolving door of people variably helping us at each meal, we didn’t know how or if tipping should happen at the buffet. We did tip at the a la carte restaurants and that is definitely expected. As for the staff attending to the rooms, leave a few bucks on the bed starting your first morning and you will have your room cleaned, towels replaced, and mini bar restocked daily. As for “sales people”, the only times we were approached to buy things was on the beach and a polite but firm, “no gracias” invites them to leave you alone. Same holds for the resort properties where you are regularly asked if you want a massage. Avoid the people in the turquoise shirts at all costs; they are the time share sales staff. Again, “no gracias” and keep walking! And finally, for the destination itself, Punta Cana was paradise! We’ve never taken a “beach” vacation as a family and the perfect weather (mid 80s during the day and mid 70s at night) were heavenly for us American northerners in December. A novice to the all inclusive experience as adults, this whole experience was like being on a massive cruise ship that never left port!

We booked this hotel after having a wonderful experience in Grand Palladium Riviera Maya and once again had a fantastic holiday with the children's nut allergies well managed.

I've read many reviews regarding staff being unfriendly but this was the complete opposite of our experience and the employees at this hotel are a credit to Grand Palladium and really elevated our experience. Everyone that we passed on the walkways would offer a smile and 'buenos dias' greeting when we said 'hola' and staff throughout the hotel couldn't have been friendlier.

I had emailed the hotel in advance to let them know that both of my children had nut allergies and also mentioned that my husband would be turning 50 during our stay. Dolores replied to me and helpfully booked our dining reservations in advance and ensured that there were sufficient notes on each booking to make staff aware of the allergies.

Check in was easy and we instantly felt taken care of. We were offered a welcome drink and the girls were handed an allergy card to present each time they ate. This helped to reassure them as one child had a very serious anaphylactic reaction in Greece in 2022, my girls have been nervous about eating abroad until last year at Grand Palladium Riviera Maya where they were so well catered for.

We were taken to our room after a quick check-in which had been decorated with a banner and balloons, and found a cake & bottle of sparkling wine inside. Thanks Dolores & team- it was very much appreciated. On my husband's actual birthday a few days later we received an additional cake in the room much to the joy of our two children!

Dolores would check in on us whenever she saw us in the lobby and other staff similarly asked us if we were enjoying our holiday. There was so much to do in the resort and we spent a lot of time at the stunningly beautiful beach which was much cooler than the pool areas. The sea was warm and there wasn't much seaweed around during our stay.

We never struggled to get 4 sunbeds with shade at anytime of the day at either the pools or beach, and would often swap between pool/beach without ever failing to very quickly find space for all 4 of us. We were planning on hiring a Bali bed at the pool on the day of my husband's birthday but with plentiful sunbeds always available and no queues at the pool bars there seemed little benefit.

The pool area was clean and tidy. Any glasses left by guests on tables or the side of the pool were very quickly removed by a variety of staff, (we saw both the lifeguard and entertainment staff collecting stray glasses) who all seem to pitch in to make the resort run so efficiently.

The vendors on the beach were slightly irritating but were respectful when you said 'no thank-you' and towards the end of our holiday began to recognise us and wouldn't even ask us if we wanted a picture with a parrot / iguana or if we wanted our hair braided. The beach bars were always quiet and had really friendly staff and we loved the BBQ and beautiful setting of La Uva for lunch on the beach.

Gardeners work all day to maintain the pristine gardens and would offer us coconuts that had been harvested from the tree, cut so that we could drink the coconut water. We did see a coconut fall from the tree one evening - thankfully no one was walking on that path at the time!

Our first Loft Suite was comfortable, but had recently been painted and there were paint splatters over everything - the stairs, bed, floor and furniture. The curtain pole fell off when we opened the curtains and the general finish in the room wasn't great. The upstairs television didn't work but we didn't miss it. None of these things really mattered to us and we liked the space and location of the Palace Loft Suite, but unfortunately had a serious structural issue which resulted in us having to move rooms. Staff were with us in minutes to assist and to help us to move, and to postpone our dinner reservations for the evening. We were offered an upgrade but wanted a loft suite the same as our original booking so were put in a temporary Junior Suite for the night and moved to a beautiful Ocean View Loft Suite the following day. The Junior Suite was lovely too and would have been comfortable for the week, but we liked the space of the Loft Suite. The Ocean View was amazing and I would pay extra for this if we book again. The sofa bed wasn't anywhere near as comfortable as the main bed downstairs, and I'm not sure why they don't just put 2 twin beds upstairs instead, but our children slept adequately in it together for the 10 days of our holiday. We had taken an inflatable pool noodle with us to put down the centre of the bed, underneath the bottom sheet which helped to split the space slightly.

The second Loft Suite didn't have a functioning upstairs TV either, and did not have air conditioning as effective as the other two rooms that we had stayed in. Despite keeping the patio doors constantly closed, we couldn't get the room below 25/26 degrees c. which seemed warmer downstairs. We reported it on the first day and again on the second day, at which point maintenance came immediately. We couldn't communicate with the maintenance staff member as we unfortunately don't speak Spanish, but we think that he was saying that it was as good as it would get. We had a follow up call from Reception that evening to check that the issue had been dealt with (& Dolores asked too - she's a star!) and offered a further room. We loved the ocean front location and couldn't face packing our cases up and moving for a third time, so decided that we would stay and told Reception that we were ok.

Food choice in the hotel buffets Las Torres & Poseidon was phenomenal! We didn't visit the other buffets and so can't comment on them. Salt, and a variety of sauces and condiments are available by the show cooking counters and there was an excellent choice of food. Other than one morning when we went for a late breakfast at 09:50 we never had to wait for a table and had drinks within a few minutes of being seated. The queue for our late breakfast looked long but moved quickly and we were seated after 10/15 mins. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and would offer to get the chef at each sitting to help my girls to make safe food choices. After their first few visits they knew what was suitable and so didn't require this offer. Staff both at the greeting podium on the door and waiting staff would recognise us and encouraged my girls who are learning Spanish in school to speak basic phrases which they loved. The girls felt very welcomed in the restaurants thanks to these friendly staff and their diligence regarding the allergies, and once again really enjoyed their food this holiday.

Some a la cartes were better than others for both food quality, allergen management & service but most importantly to us, the girls were ok after each meal and really enjoyed their food.

Sumptuori, El Dorado, Bamboo and Boghali were stand out winners for our family. Ironically, Bamboo which probably had the most nut extensive menu was one of the best at managing the girls nut allergy and the chef even offered to make them a nut-free Pad Thai! He went through every sauce and food item on the starters buffet table with the girls and made sure that they were happy with what they needed to avoid. He was really patient and we were grateful for his diligence.

Other a la cartes had several nuts and nut containing products on the starter buffet tables which increased the risk of cross contamination from utensils/surfaces. The food at this resort is so plentiful (Sports Bar serve great chicken wings and pizza 24 hours a day, and you can order free room service during the daytime and evening) that our girls didn't mind not using the buffet tables at these restaurants and would order off the menu where we would use both the allergy card from the hotel and our own translated into Spanish so that our waiter and the kitchen were aware of the allergy. Some of the a la cartes were so busy I did worry that the note on our booking and our declaration to the restaurant of allergies may not have reached the kitchen, so the allergy cards really helped.

We left daily notes in the mini bar in Spanish along with a tip explaining about the girls nut allergies and requesting no nuts. This worked in the first room, but in the second loft suite I think that Google translate may have let us down as the peanuts that my husband kept removing & leaving on top of the fridge were replenished daily. These pre-packed nuts didn't pose much of a threat to our children though and we were grateful for the regular replacement of waters and drinks in the fridge.

Overall we had a wonderful holiday. Staff, facilities and the beach at this resort made up for our issues with the rooms and occasional standard quality food at some of the a la cartes. Evening entertainment was of a high standard and the cocktails from the lobby bars were amazing. Coffee bar in the lobby was a bonus (lovely staff) and served really good drinks from 7am. There was so much to do at the resort and we did feel valued as guests and well looked after. It was very quiet during our stay in August and the staff to guest ratio seemed very luxurious. Other than after the evening show ended in the Bavaro Theatre, we always got either a cart or a space on the train and didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for a lift. We walked back each night after the show (one end of the site accommodation to the other) which took approximately 10-15 minutes if you take the paths through the resort. Most importantly to us, the girls allergies were catered for, and we all enjoyed the holiday. Beach is truly beautiful and staff were accommodating and friendly. We were very disappointed not to win a return trip to the resort at the bingo!

Being celiac, this hotel is really knowledgeable about gluten free and a special attention is given to avoid any cross contamination. Every restaurant and buffet provide a personal review of gluten free options with the chef. A special thank you to Marvin and to Santos for going over and above.

I was very disappointed in this resort. From the time of check in which took well over an hour, to the dismal buffets which served the same food everyday with no variation. The room service was lacking, the coffee maker didn't work, pillows weren't replaced and when I called for room service for breakfast the evening before I was told to call back in the morning at 7am to place an order! The pool was green and we complained about it and finally they cleaned and chlorinated it. I was there with 19 members of my family who spent a lot of money and we couldn't get into any of the alternative restaurants. Eight members of our group got into the steakhouse on our last evening and we waited for over a half hour for a waiter to come and then a further half hour to get drinks. The bell boys and shuttle drivers were absolutely excellent, as well as the bartender at the pool. I'd say the most serious problem with this resort was service. The service sucked literally all over the resort. The people were miserable most of the time serving us from the buffet to the hostesses trying to get in who made you feel like a criminal. I would not recommend nor go back to this resort. We (19 of us) went to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday on December 27th and if it wasn't for Andreas at the bar who went out of his way to get her a cake and balloons, it would have been ruined, as we couldn't get into any other restaurant on the resort and had to settle for the buffet once again.

An honest review of our vacation. On arrival very little information is given. A map was given with the closest place to eat and that’s about it. The electric was out for our first 4-5 hours at part of resort, which we were not informed of when we checked in. The resort was nice with friendly staff and the beach and water were pretty but the ocean water had a smell to it. The vendors on the beach were very pushy and annoying. The food is the worst we have ever had at an all inclusive. Our AC was horrible and our room phone was not working and we requested it to be fixed and were told several times they would be back. Our room was humid and musty! The pools at the sister resorts had more activities happening and were nicer than the palace. Even with 19 people we had difficulty getting a tram to ride us to our dinner reservations. Walking is an option however with the heat and humidity you were a mess before getting there. We enjoyed the massage but not much else about this resort. 17 out of 19 of us all got some sort of illness and they were not accommodating as far as our needs while being sick and unable to leave the room. The what’s app was our only way to communicate and they was not very effective. The Palladium app took us about 3 days to figure out where to find things. Part of our group did a charter fishing trip from the dive center on the property and that was a complete JOKE! They never touched a fishing pole and the boat NEVER stopped to allow fishing! The bugs were terrible and I guess it’s because it’s the rainy season.

It's the 4th time we've been to Palladium but this year has been fatal. We go with a 22-month-old baby and first day when we arrive they tell us that they bring us a crib two days after much ordering it they bring it. The first night at 9 o'clock at night they hadn't made the room yet they tell us that there's a fault in the keys and that they don't open, and what a chance that we don't fail. Every day the cleaning of the room from 3 in the afternoon onwards when I have asked you to please early that the baby naps, for nothing. The mini bar on the first day with water, soft drinks, chocolate, only on the first day of there is henceforth only water. Very cleanliness in the rooms. If you stay on weekends there it is terrifying as we are told the hotel draws offers for locals and the hotel is filled being impossible to be in the pool or even eat because there is nothing .

1. Cleanliness and Maintenance:
Food: The dining experience was completely unacceptable, as flies and stones were found inside the food. This was documented with photos and videos, and the restaurant employee who took the room number was informed, but no compensation or apology was offered until our departure.
Rooms: The cleanliness inside the rooms is not up to the required level. During the stay, the room was cleaned only 4-5 times out of 10 days. The floor of the room always had sand, and the tea and coffee in the room was always incomplete. The toilet paper used was very bad, as it was only one layer.
Maintenance: There are frequent malfunctions in the rooms, such as lighting, air conditioning, and the balcony door. Some of these problems took long hours to resolve.
2. Service Quality:
Staff: The reception staff were not professional. We were assigned an inappropriate room that had malfunctions, and when we asked for a change, it took more than 6 hours. Some of the staff were also unprofessional and seemed to be trying to prevent us from knowing our rights.
Response: Problem solving was very slow, it took hours to move us to another temporary room. Instead of providing quick solutions, we were asked to stay in a broken room until the faults were fixed.
3. Food and Beverage:
Food Quality: The food is always cold, whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. Although the taste is acceptable, the cleanliness is absent. There is also a clear discrimination from the chefs when serving portions between guests.
Beverages: Alcoholic drinks were consistently of poor quality, except in cases where a "tip" (gratuity) was given. "Premium" drinks were only served based on tips.
4. Reception and Information:
Arrival Procedures: Upon arrival, there was a loud DJ party in front of the reception, which made it difficult to understand the staff's instructions.
Information Provided: The information provided by the hotel staff was very incomplete. We only discovered many important details at the end of the vacation, such as the presence of in-room dinner or that some of the restaurants included in the reservation require prior reservation.
5. Language:
The staff's level of English is very poor, which makes communication difficult. There was also inaccurate or incomplete information regarding services.
6. Shopping and additional services:
The prices of shopping inside the hotel and the pharmacy were very high and unjustified, exceeding the prices in areas known for high price

Nothing they offer is true, the theme restaurants are very bad, old and the service is terrible. To go to each restaurant or move within the complex, you need a transport that spends every 30 minutes and not every 3 minutes as they offer, they tell you that there is Snack Bar on the beach and in the pools and it is not true, the only one there is the bar the grape and if you stay in the Palace, you are very far away.

Very poor service from the hotel staff, only a few are friendly. be careful that the rooms flood, the water comes out of the showers and enters the room, the shower has hydromassage and it is very difficult to access the shower.

The buffet food is repetitive, every day is the same for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I stayed in pair but spent more time at reception asking for a change of room because mine was full of water leaks.

Also keep in mind that if you stay close to the pools, they hold parties until the morning.

I do not recommend it, be careful and look for better options.

We chose it as a family vacation destination. We were encouraged by the magnificent feeling we had another summer at the GP Palace Ibiza.
In this case, it was the opposite, TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
The rooms assigned to us were a good size (loft type, 50 m2), but with poor maintenance: sinks that do not drain, locked safe, out of square access or closet doors, water dripping in bathtubs and sinks, rusty elements, excessively noisy air conditioning (we were without it for almost a whole day due to breakage, the heat in the room was unbearable and we had to extend the return to it. They repaired it after 10 p.m.).
The minibar (which does not cool) is included. Upon entering the room we found a half-empty bottle of water from the previous client!!
Cleaning is fair, although the schedule when cleaning the room varies greatly. If it happens that you are in it, you are left without cleaning.
There is an obvious excess of staff. For the same function you can find up to 4 employees, but only 1 is effective, the rest go their own way and literally ignore you. No area of the resort is spared (reception, bars, waitresses, concierges, towel kiosk...). There is constant harassment to sell you everything: excursions, massages, TravelClub...
We requested a late check-out from the moment we arrived. Up to 3 different days we had to ask, always without a positive response. We managed to do it on the day of departure at 9 am, after paying $10 per hour of delay. We paid for them obviously, but some deference would have been expected after all the previous problems. At Reception, upon detecting our dissatisfaction, they showed 0 interest in our stay and of course, no apology.
The food at the buffets is very good and varied, without any drawbacks. A la carte restaurants are not worth it. None of those visited fit that name (a Japanese, Indian or Mexican pantomime). The menu includes a description of the dish and they bring you a "reinterpretation" of it. You tell the waitress and she still tries to trick you...unheard of.
The visit to the GP Bávaro and Punta Cana hotels, even worse. I do not include the TRS Turquesa because it is only for adults.
For all this and comparing with the magnificent service of our stay at the GP Palace Ibiza, it is inconceivable to give this resort 5 stars. It is very far from a facility and service of that category. We are clear that we will not return.

When we got there we were greeted by a person and he stated he would take care of us. After we checked in this person said he would pick us up in the morning and bring us to breakfast and show us around.

We checked into our room to find the AC didn’t work, the refrigerator was not cold and after taking a shower i found a huge puddle of water next to the bed. I went to the front desk to tell them about my issues and the clerk behind the counter said i would have to talk to the supervisor. After waiting about 10 minutes the supervisor came out of the back room. I explained to him what my issues were and he stated I would have to stay in that room for the night and they would move me in the morning. The following morning we were moved to another room that was much better. The supervisor gave us a 25 minute massage for the inconvenience.

The following morning we were greeted for breakfast to find out it was a vacation club that wasted about 90 minutes of our time.

The breakfast and lunch were buffet only. Most of the time the food was cold unless you caught one of them bringing out a fresh dish. The evening dinner was either buffet or a la cart restaurants Even at the a la cart restaurants you had to get up to the salad bar. The food at the restaurants were ok but not great.

There was a restaurant called Chic that was a dinner and a show for a price of $140 a couple so we decided to try it. As we were getting ready to go to dinner I decided to look at the menu to find out it was a fixed menu. We were told it was a seven course menu so I thought we had choices. After looking at the menu i found that 75% of it was seafood that my wife is allergic to. So I went down to cancel and i was told it was too late to cancel and i would have to speak to a supervisor in the morning. I went to speak to the supervisor in the morning and told them no one told us it was a set menu and no one showed us a sample menu. I stated if i knew what it was i would not have purchased those tickets. She said there is nothing they could do because it was part of the THS hotel that controls that part of the resort and i would have to email them.

I have emailed THS hotels every day since then and it’s been about a week with no response. Beware of this resort and their bait and switch tactics. Very disappointing vacation.
