We went on trip where you are taken to the Dominican countryside and get to drive a sand buggy to Macao beach then to swim in caves. I would recommend this trip! There are loads of others though- saoana island which is meant to be great! I don't think you can really leave the resort and walk anywhere. There is a free bus to the shopping centre. Also coco bongo if you like nightclubs!
