Meliá Punta Cana Beach is a widely appreciated hotel for its serene atmosphere and excellent beachfront location, as noted by many travelers. The 'Level' upgrade and diverse range of amenities are well-regarded, although some guests found the spa disappointing and the upgrade overpriced. Most guests praise the hotel's cleanliness and service, particularly the concierge staff, but a few expressed concerns about room maintenance and reservation issues. Reviews on room cleanliness and decor are mixed, and while the hotel's low noise levels are generally appreciated, some external disturbances were reported.

Arrived after a long 9 hour flight on the 5th January, a vacation of 16 nights, principally to celebrate my wife's major birthday & to escape the UK winter for at least a while, Check in was slick, first night we used the buffet restaurant & the choices very good, even the house wine was better than expected, next day we proceeded to book excursions & meet with the customer service ladies, our first encounter was with Zully, who we found during our entire holiday to be exceptional , ably supported by Paola, there seemed to be nothing that this team could not sort out, from minor issues to making making restaurant bookings. Our room in block 2 was fine, a very comfortable queen sized bed, but with hard pillows ( should have requested a change but did not), its location to beach, pool & the breakfast/lunch buffet restaurant was perfect, the beach was massive, sand a beautiful golden soft sand, only problem was that at this time of year sea weed is a constant issue, but the beach team work diligently to minimize the mess.Re the restaurants, our favorite was Muoi, the ribs & chicken wings were great, sadly we found the fare in the Mediterranean did not warrant a second visit, The Japanese restaurant was our choice ( at extra cost) for the birthday dinner, what a debacle, they lost our reservation, placed us after discussion with a group of 8 Spanish speakers, 4 of whom were children, the worst of all was the crass performance, of screaming staff & guests whilst the food was being prepared, overall a place not to return to, the Alma & Hacienda at the Caribe were good, the beach Italian at the Caribe, was poor, served main course whilst still eating our starters & would not take it away.Pool beds in general were OK, a great many had mattresses which needed either replacement our refurbishment as they were pretty poor, the pool was great, large, with many features & a great depth for actually swimming, the pool bar was a source of much noise & strange tasting drinks, which we gave up on after a few days...

To wrap this up my last bit of advice would be don't book here expecting a wild spring break party vibe (it's a wellness/relaxation resort so don't overlook that) and do yourself a favor and learn basic spanish words like bathroom, help, thank you, etc...

We settled into the next room and checked for bugs, didn't see any... After talking with the front desk again they said they could not change our room and didn't seem interested in our bug problem... After talking with guest services, they said they couldn't change our rooms, but could offer us one "upgraded" dinner at the Level, and allow us to use the sauna and steam rooms at the spa one day for free... Anyways, after a few days we were still seeing bugs in our second room, so they sent someone to fumigate... So, we just lived with the fact that bugs were in our room our ENTIRE stay...

...You thought you paid an extra to stay at the Level but it is total BS... And if you don’t want to pay for it you become an uninteresting guest... Crooked tv in your room is supposed be normal when you pay that much more extra... Do not fall for their false advertisement for all alcohol and plus premium drinks... A simple Stella Artois is way too premium for you to drink so they will charge you 5 American dollars... Also they never have coffee which is great when you paid so much extra... If your looking to come for the beach … wrong place...

So really, you would get access to the rooftop bar and another restaurant and use of the same pool we were already using or one that was by the buffet that I saw maybe 10 people use all week for $700US... T And talking about food, you also had to pay extra for the Japanese restaurant, room service and the surf and turf restaurant...

We paid an extra $55 per head to eat in the Japanese restaurant... Although we upgraded to The Level, we hadn’t factored in that if you didn’t bung the pool manager a few $, then most or all of the premium sun beds we’re reserved by 6-7am... Mr pool manager suddenly forget that he can speak English... We didn’t book ‘The Level’ when we initially booked and endured a barter session on checking in... This started @ $1,200 to upgrade to ‘The Level’ and exactly the same accommodation a little nearer the beach... I was really disappointed with Meliá this time around!... This time around my fiancé and I stayed at the Melia Punta Cana Beach and had my stay ruined... Pablo was wildly unhelpful and didn't offer us any further compensation... At the end of our stay they decided the best they could offer us is 50% off the spa treatment we received (roughly $150 in compensation)... This was a very disappointing vacation primarily because of the price we paid for such poor service and food... If you haven’t booked the Level section, which is $110/US more per night than the deluxe or premium beach rooms, then you’ll find the reviews for this resort are mostly really good... However if you pay extra for a premium beach room, which is what we did, then don’t expect a 4.5 star rating... Don’t expect to get a reservation at the à la carte restaurants because they are already booked by the concierges who cater to the Level section guests... Also, don’t expect to have a relaxing time if your premium beach room is along the noisy service road facing a white wall...

First thing is I was shocked is hear everyone talking Spanish which made us feel really out of place .At checking your asked to up grade to the level for a extra £150 uk pound ,we said no as we had pay a lot just to go ... Food was basic no selection at all hardly much put out Then to put more frustration to everything you had to queue up to book the restaurant you wanted for dinner ,sometimes I waited 40 mins to get told no places or again staff that only talk Spanish or rude with you so over 10 day we had one night at a restaurant the rest was buffet in the end I was sick with the rubbish food and very upset how we was treated But if you pay the money and upgrade to the level you get a butler that will book your restaurants bring you drinks and basically wait on you for your stay We was not the only people complaining So after reading the reviews on here I am not sure how people can say they had a great time Poor services Poor food Beach full of sea weed I have nothing nice to say I wood not recommend this hotel to anyone...

Having stayed in a Melia Hotel in Alicante Spain 8 years ago which was amazing and impressive we chose this hotel based on the Melia brand, we 100% made the right decision, this hotel surpassed our expectations... All of the staff are so nice and welcoming from the second we arrived to when we left... When we arrived we were told we got upgraded to ‘The Level’ which gives you access to a beautiful restaurant and rooftop bar along with some other perks... I highly recommend the restaurant at the ground floor of the level... We ate breakfast and lunch there almost every day... There is a self serve bar area on the second floor of the building with a really nice outdoor lounge space to have a drink or a coffee... The Hotel rooms are amazing and what I like about them also is that they replenished the mini fridge all the time free of charge with water Sprite Coca Cola, beer and they replenish snacks... Amazing to see this done free of charge as it is annoying going to hotels where they charge for this... Every person staying in the hotel gets appointed a concierge staff member also to help them with anything they require, for example restaurant bookings on site, external excursions or trips to the Spa... We were appointed Miguel who I will now mention below, he is a true gent... Miguel Perez: I would like to say a big thank you Miguel, he is such a nice person and he would always check in with us in person and over WhatsApp to book us into the restaurants on site and in the adjoining Caibre hotel... All restaurants he booked for us we really enjoyed... Nothing was too much and we felt he really wanted to give the best experience possible... Thank you Miguel for being an excellent and professional point of contact... The hotel has a transport service also around the hotel...

...We upgraded to a room at The Level, and it was totally worth it. You get access to special restaurants/bars, and get a 24 hour concierge to help you with bookings and overall questions... He was kind, responsive, knowledgeable, and was a huge reason why we had a wonderful time on our trip... We were very happy with the food overall, and the customer service from arrival to checkout was top notch... Therefore, this did not impact my opinion of the overall service level... They usually have several employees on golf carts riding around that are usually able to take you wherever, so that was nice!... Thanks for making this wedding anniversary one to remember, MPC!...

...Big thank you to Steven for taking care of us by making sure that all our needs and expectations were taken care of. The A la carte restaurants are just great, food is very tasty and the staff is so professional, friendly and simply amazing... I can't say the same about the staff that works at breakfast and lunch buffet... On many occasions we got our drink order after we finished eating and on many occasions we did not get half of the order because they just forgot... It's almost like they are on vacation also and they are making you a big favour by serving you... It's a shame , if the staff would be more professional and more friendly this resort would be truly amazing... The bar and the staff that works in the bar are great...

...The resort is beautiful and very well maintained, all of the staff work hard to keep things going and make sure everyone is having a great time. The rooms were clean, well decorated and the beds so comfortable... Upon arrival we let our Concierge Eddy Sambo know and he addressed this right away providing a blackout curtain... For the ala-cart restaurants we tried the Italian place casa nostra this was not a good experience for us, it took over 2 hrs... For our anniversary we had dinner at Cape Nao which Eddie recommended as a place we could have a good dinner and not pay extra for the steak and lobster place we both got the steak and it was very good... The absolute best part of our stay was having Eddy Sambo and Juan Adbrincoles as our Concierges... They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and keep your minibar fridge stocked well with what you want... Juan made our anniversary extra special by decorating our room, including champagne... Eddy even went to a store off resort for us when we needed something we ran out of!... These gentlemen are truly gems to the Melia family... The kindness they show guest is top notch and how they remember everyone and all your special days is beyond me... They are the reason so many people including us come back!!... Adriana the bartender at the Quimera bar on the 1st floor is wonderful and will keep you laughing and make everyone happy, she's such a joy and her attitude is so nice and upbeat... Luis at the rooftop bar is such a wonderful young man and his drinks are the best we found on property... We are so grateful to these wonderful people for making our trip memorable and can't wait to come back to see them again...

...Our room was located on the beach side which was very convenient for claiming your morning poolside or beach side lounge chairs (yes everyone does this still with their towels at 7am). The rooms were a bit dated but very clean and mini fridge was filled daily with sodas, water and beer... It is different staff who clean and who fill your Mini Bar... To get extra water or beer, leave a thank you note with tip in fridge... Recommend you keep your beach towels from day before to reserve your chairs at 7AM... From there you can proceed to the breakfast buffet at the close by Rumba Restaurant and pick up fresh towels after breakfast, the towel booth at the main pool opens a little later... They seem to be short staffed at buffets and instead of waiting for them to fill your coffee cup, there is a coffee to go station located in front of buffet so you can serve yourself... The bar located at the beachside Cape Nao Bar had no white wine or beer on several occasions and was poorly staffed... Best bar service was at the pool... Biggest complaint as many people have said is if you are not in Level upgrade, you have to line up outside the Rumba Restaurant Lobby in the morning at 8AM to book dinner reservations at the A la carte Restaurants... Two of the A la carte restaurants (Casa Nostra and Muoi) you could book 2 days ahead and the others, you had to book the day of... The reservation desk is open all day, however if you book later in the morning, they will likely already be filled and you will be eating at the Buffet... The Level people obviously have priority and have butlers booking their reservations for them... The staff overall were not overly welcoming on all occasions especially at the bars despite us tipping them for service... The grounds are very beautiful and the train which takes you from Lobby area to the beach front ran regularly and was always available when required... You would think after one and a half years of closure, service would be more welcoming but found in general that all staff seem to be chronically unhappy and would rate this as a 3 star resort...

...It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Our butler Jose Manaya was there for us each day... Booking dinner reservations at the different restaurants, sending us the menus through WhatsApp, even saved us when we locked ourselves out of the room on the balcony and providing us with excursion options... The Mediterranean restaurant was one of our favourite restaurants but nothing compares to the vibe and service at the Vietnamese restaurant... We ate at the level restaurant several times for lunch, as well as Rumba, the buffet for breakfast almost everyday... Santo made sure our drinks were topped up at all times... Adrienna was the level bartender throughout the day and made exceptional frozen mojitos and was very pleasant every time we saw her... Thank you melia beach punta cana !...

...The front desk clerk told us that our only option was the buffet... So Wed morning we headed to Rumba to make our reservations... We had to wait for 45 min in line in order to make our reservations and when we finally sat down to make the reservations, we were told that only 2 of the 5 restaurants were available because the others were completely booked... And just a heads up, they only let you make 2 days worth of reservations so you get to keep having fun doing the same thing every two days... We placed our order and were given our appetizers... After 45 min we asked if we were getting our entrees... The waiter told us to wait a few more min because the oven was broken... He told us that they knew the oven was broken but instead of asking us to order something different, they decided it was better for us to just sit there...

We upgraded to the level which I would suggest doing It was well worth the money. We had two concierges Juan and Jose who were great and helped us with everything... They went way above and beyond our expectations and made our 25th wedding anniversary which we celebrated while we were at the resort a once in a lifetime experience and one we will never forget... The spa was really nice and if you upgrade to the level you get a free 30 minute massage which I highly recommend doing and it also gives you access to going there daily to utilize various spa activities... We had no issues with our stay and I would highly recommend staying here and upgrading to the level experience...

...I’ve been visiting this resort since 2018 and it exceeds my expectations every single time. We had two butlers during our stay due to their schedules... He booked our dining, helped us book an excursion to saona island and even scheduled a trip to Don Lucas for my boyfriend who loves cigars... They had the best coffee and chocolates as well... For the rest of our trip Eddy Sambo (Eddy solutions) continued to provide amazing service... Eddy took the initiative to make dinner reservations for us while we were at saona island knowing we would be starving when we got back... He reserved an awesome Dominican buffet at Quimera... They go above and beyond for their guests by providing excellent service around the clock... We received a full schedule of events daily and they truly made our trip special... We were out of snacks in our room one afternoon and Eddy hand delivered them to us instead of sending someone to stock them later in the day... I also want to recognize Yiesen and Moses, two servers at Casa Nostra and Quimera who were awesome!... They had great personalities and provided excellent service... Orlando was our Otium contact who we reserved Saina through and it was a pleasure to work with him as well...

...Needless to say, the Melia Level experience was absolutely fantastic. Notwithstanding the gorgeous beach and beautiful resort, the great food, pools, spas, and other amenities, it's the friendly staff that provide an excellent service with a smile that will keep you coming back for more... You would think that this alone would be satisfyingly enough for anyone, yet the Melia Level experience is further enhanced by the quality of concierges that selflessly provide a professional service and attention to detail... We were so lucky again to have Eduardo Sambo as our primary concierge, and Juan Adbricoles for the last part of our vacation... These two gentlemen bent over backwards to ensure our experience was unforgettable... They continuously touched base with us, they provided us undivided attention, they helped us with anything we needed... The Melia group should be very proud to have these two incredible and honorable gentlemen in their organization... We went back because of the awesome service Eduardo Sambo provided last year... Unbelievably, this year was even better as Eduardo and Juan delivered beyond expectations, guaranteeing a third visit in 2023... Thank you Melia Level for an amazing vacation, and thanks to all the staff who are eager to assist in any manner...and a huge thanks and salute to Eduardo Sambo and Juan Adbricoles for a perfectly delivered service...

Right from the start he took over the responsibilities of looking out for our comfort and attempt to give us answers about the various activities... Not only is the food there exceptional, but his staff is extremely busy and always friendly... They work together with him to help all the customers... We returned to this restaurant and also enjoyed his service at lunch in the Quimera... Some of the regular waiters who repeatedly served us include Hilario Cedano, and Yeison Florimon... ...Our room was lovely and spacious, cleaned every day... All the entertaining, pool bar and restaurant staff were very polite, lovely, and engaged in everything they did... Overprices spa We booked the Spa as I was expecting something spectacular from it, especially at the price we paid for the massage USD335 I cannot describe my disappointment after entering the Spa... The steam room was not working, knowing that the team asked me to get inside and sit for a few minutes there... What was the reason for sitting in the not working steaming room?... We mentioned that at our check out and did not even hear sorry for not working things at the Spa... We asked several times if there was anything they could do to fix it, and on day three, finally, someone came and made some adjustments, so it was working a little bit quieter...

...Upon arrival however the resort was so accommodating and apologetic about any and all inconveniences. As facilities became available ( staff worked furiously to restore site) we were constantlyupdated... From the welcome to my departure, I was met with nothing but smiling faces and people openly offering assistance... To witness construction vehicles being used to clear not only debri but actual boat that had washed ashore, these people worked hard to still provide a great experience for us guest... My butler Alejandro Estrella was phenomenal... Although due to storms my room wasn't initially decorated, Alejandro made sure that over my 5 day stay that little things were done where I felt special and loved... Alejandro not only communicated with me during my hospital visit, but he ensured that the resort staff was aware and available as well... It was our first time in the Caribbean and we can honestly say that staying at this resort has cemented our stance that the Caribbean is where we will be holidaying from now on. The staff were above and beyond anything we've experienced before; always friendly and every conversation felt personalised... He was especially helpful to us and sorted us out an evening for dinner in the 'Level' restaurant with our new friends... The fact is we didn't know it was even possible to have this arranged but he came out and offered it to us... For some reason they were awful which is a shame because everything else was great!... The rooms are a great size, nice and clean plus there were no noise issues... Check-in took nearly an hour for some strange reason and we were told the buses/trains that take you around the resort are every few minutes... There were often periods where you would be waiting for one for way longer but on the other hand, when the resort is so nice, walking isn't such a bad option... We would seriously recommend staying here and we will consider coming back again...

We really enjoyed spending our nights in the bar, specially because of the entertainment, which was great!... Overall our holiday was amazing and would recommend this resort because of its gorgeous areas, tasty food and very tasty drinks!!...

...All Inclusive: The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing also. They have different themed restaurants you can book into, for example, Mexican, Italian, Vietnamese... The rooftop bar is amazing with great views of the pool and beach and a really nice and relaxing space to have a cocktail... Miguel Perez: I would like to say a big thank you Miguel, he is such a nice person and he would always check in with us in person and over WhatsApp to book us into the restaurants on site and in the adjoining Caibre hotel... The hotel has a transport service also around the hotel... The ground of the hotel are also beautiful, amazing gardens and hammocks and great places to relax and enjoy the surroundings...

...Our room was located on the beach side which was very convenient for claiming your morning poolside or beach side lounge chairs (yes everyone does this still with their towels at 7am). Best bar service was at the pool... The grounds are very beautiful and the train which takes you from Lobby area to the beach front ran regularly and was always available when required... The A la carte restaurants were all located up at the Lobby areas, so you could either take the train up or enjoy the 5 minute walk up... On different occasions they had Vendors set up booths in the Lobby areas in the evening so you could shop without any pressure, which was nice...

Our group of 5 women had an amazing stay at Melia for our annual girls getaway! We upgraded to ‘Level’ which I would recommend for the many added benefits... Eddie and Jose provided amazing concierge services, taking care of everything we needed from restaurant reservations, boat rentals, spa appts, etc... Santos and Octavio provided exceptional drink and chair service at the pool and beach... The food and drinks were excellent, especially for an all-inclusive resort... We also enjoyed the nightly activities in the main lounge, especially the acrobatics and u42 stargazing experience where we weee able to see Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, and a close-up of the moon... I had a great deep tissue massage from Rosie and enjoyed the hot tub and other warm pool after...

...The service by the staff was exceptional, the food excellent, the facilities met all our expectations. We played 6 rounds of golf, some tennis and paddle ball which made our trip very enjoyable... Alejandro Estrella, our guest concierge made our stay very easy when it came to booking restaurants, addressing questions or issues and was available via WhatsApp at any time of the day and evening... Thanks to everyone at Melia for making our stay so enjoyable...

...The property is clean, beautiful, and so green. The main pool is great, but we spent most of our time at the beach because it was lovely... We upgraded to a room at The Level, and it was totally worth it... You get access to special restaurants/bars, and get a 24 hour concierge to help you with bookings and overall questions... Although our trip was great, there were a few things that are worth noting (not necessarily cons): - I wish there were more options for breakfast and lunch... We had an extra option for being in The Level, but people not in TL only had the buffet option for breakfast and lunch... They usually have several employees on golf carts riding around that are usually able to take you wherever, so that was nice!...

...The resort is beautiful and very well maintained, all of the staff work hard to keep things going and make sure everyone is having a great time. The rooms were clean, well decorated and the beds so comfortable... Upon arrival we let our Concierge Eddy Sambo know and he addressed this right away providing a blackout curtain... We knew having been before that with an AI it isn't the greatest however it seems that this time around you had the same options every day no matter where you went for buffets which is what you have for breakfast and lunch every day with the exception of the AO Level which gives you access to Quimera... Mosaico buffet was the best we had all week, they have a huge variety of foods to try and the hottest foods by far from all the buffets... They are the reason so many people including us come back!!... Luis at the rooftop bar is such a wonderful young man and his drinks are the best we found on property...

Just returned from a week as a Level guest at this resort, it is beautiful! The grounds are very well maintained and clean... Lots of food options, good drink selections and awesome nightly entertainment... We had the excellent concierge services of Eddie Solutions and Jose Acosta and we couldn't have been happier!... These guys are amazing, they went out of their way to ensure our family vacation was the best ever, making dinner and spa reservations, keeping us informed of daily activities and what the resort had to offer and coordinating surprise birthday touches... They truly made our stay a better experience and would be a reason to make a return trip :) I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting...

...Our room was lovely and spacious, cleaned every day. I like the entertainment that the hotel offers throughout the day... All the entertaining, pool bar and restaurant staff were very polite, lovely, and engaged in everything they did... The food was delicious, and there were so many options every day that you could book a different restaurant if you liked... What I liked the most was the sunrise, spectacular, a little walk to the beach at 6 am and you can enjoy the view... The steam room was not working, knowing that the team asked me to get inside and sit for a few minutes there... What was the reason for sitting in the not working steaming room?... I did not get a robe and had to ask for it seeing all the other guests wearing one... The jacuzzi was tiny, with hot water almost unpleasant to sit in it... There was also a small pool with cold water, and that’s all... We travel a lot, and that was the most expensive Spa experience we have booked that was not worth it... We mentioned that at our check out and did not even hear sorry for not working things at the Spa...

Our stay at the Melia beach Punta Cana was fantastic... It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay... Our butler Jose Manaya was there for us each day... Booking dinner reservations at the different restaurants, sending us the menus through WhatsApp, even saved us when we locked ourselves out of the room on the balcony and providing us with excursion options... We went to Scape Park for our excursion day... The zip lining was a lot of fun and the waterfalls were great however the cave jumping was closed which was slightly disappointing as that was the selling feature for the excursion... Thank you melia beach punta cana !...

...We upgraded to The Level and it was well worth it. We met our wonderful concierge Jenfry (MJ because of the Michael Jordan tattoo on his hand) at check - in... He was wonderful throughout the week arranging dinners, birthday & anniversary cakes, making sure our rooms were stocked, helping arrange our excursions and our airport shuttle... The pool and beach areas were wonderful... They cleaned the room in the morning and came back in the evening to check to see if we needed anything... A couple cons for the resort: not enough bathrooms near the pool/beach areas, there was nothing to dry your swimsuits, etc., in the room (they could use retractable clotheslines that we've seen in other hotels) and also they had a fleet of e-bikes that can only be used on a tour with a guide (would have liked to take a few rides throughout the resort)... Because we upgraded to The Level we were able to eat several meals at Quimera where the food and drinks were amazing... The other ala carte restaurants on the resort were very good; Muoi and Capri particularly...

We utilized most of the amenities offered by upgrading to the level plus it is nice to be closer to the beach... The spa was really nice and if you upgrade to the level you get a free 30 minute massage which I highly recommend doing and it also gives you access to going there daily to utilize various spa activities... We had no issues with our stay and I would highly recommend staying here and upgrading to the level experience...

...Outside of the food, everything else was amazing! Great drinks, great staff!... The upgrade allowed us to have our own butler (his name was Eddy Sambo), who was amazing... He helped us book our dinner reservations, gave us golf cart rides around the resort, and even organized our transportation back to the airport... Lastly they had fun events (water aerobics, paddle boarding, Pilates, water pole dancing) and shows that were performed on the premises... I would recommend this resort to most people, but definitely those a little bit older as there were not many college/young adult people there...

...Our personal concierge Jenfry De Jesùs was super fabulous! Right from the start he took over the responsibilities of looking out for our comfort and attempt to give us answers about the various activities... Along with him, we were treated like royalty with the Moui Manager Randolfo Rijo... Not only is the food there exceptional, but his staff is extremely busy and always friendly... We returned to this restaurant and also enjoyed his service at lunch in the Quimera... Juan informed us that a new director is to start and promises to coordinate AND communicate the various activities and entertainments offered... The grounds were beautiful even with the cleanup after the hurricane...

...This resort is outstanding, it is big but can easily get around with shuttles or the desire for a nice walk. Grounds are kept very tidy, room was very clean and modern, various restaurant selections and many bars to visit!... The LEVEL is definitely worth the upgrade with access to the Quimera restaurant a second lounge level with snacks and make your own drinks (with some premium liquors) and the rooftop lounge which is a great way to unwind and finish your day... Access to a secluded section of the pool and another private pool with cabanas is a nice touch for LEVEL guests... They were very attentive to all our requests while we there including dinner reservations, spa reservation and even day to day questions and help getting items for the room that were missed in the turndown service... A fantastic relaxing week at the LEVEL!...

...Our concierge who was assigned to us (*perks of upgrading to the level* ). Due to the circumstances our room was not ready and Jenfry went above and beyond to make sure we were as comfortable as possible and had what we needed to enjoy the resort while we waited for our room to be ready!... He is very professional , warm, attentive and made all our appointments and reservations... He was there to pick us up and drop us off in a timely manner... He sent morning inspirational messages as well as throughout the day to make sure we had everything we needed... He really made this experience here fantastic!!... This is my second time here it is a peaceful resort with many wellness activities to choose from... The beaches are beautiful as well as the many pools... Excellent Spa services with exceptional staff especially Fior and Kathia they’re massages are truly amazing !!... Check out was easy and quick, thanks too Jenfry again for the wake up and for picking us up and making sure everything was on time!...

...He was especially helpful to us and sorted us out an evening for dinner in the 'Level' restaurant with our new friends... The selection of food was excellent at the buffet and the range of restaurants on site was plentiful... For some reason they were awful which is a shame because everything else was great!... The general layout of the resort was great and we'd recommend spending a bit more to get yourself an apartment down by the pool, gym, beach and buffet restaurant... The rooms are a great size, nice and clean plus there were no noise issues... There were often periods where you would be waiting for one for way longer but on the other hand, when the resort is so nice, walking isn't such a bad option... We would seriously recommend staying here and we will consider coming back again...

...The addition of the Quiemera restaurant and lounge area is a plus... The buffets in all the areas are just ok, they could use more variety... The resort is massive and well maintained... I highly recommend upgrading to The level, close to the beach and pool, and adults only... Our Concierge Yoiner Jose was exceptional, he made checking in and out a breeze and made all our reservations and transportation within the huge resort a breeze...

The check-in process was slowish. The personnel seemed not in any particular hurry. The grounds are spectacular, lush green, and very well kept. The main swimming pool is beautiful and spacious. There are several other smaller pools around the grounds. The beach is wide the pool and beach furniture is ample, well well-distributed around the grounds. The room was satisfactory, and good sized, the bathroom was kind of crowded but well-appointed. The cleaning service was spotty, most days something was different. Service personnel will disregard the "No disturb signs" and still knock on the door or even try busting on you with the keys. The main issue was the A/C, loud like a tractor! Food, where do I start? Mediocre at best. I know it is all-inclusive but more is not better, better have fewer items of better quality. We tried out a (so-called) Vietnamese restaurant that requires reservation, the only Vietnamese thing was the names in the menu. We tried 2 starters, 1 soup and 3 main courses from it and all had nothing to do with Vietnam, all tasteless or overly salty. The spa, it is expensive, the massage was good, the facility is very pretty. Lastly a word about the personnel, some are very nice (mostly the female staff) others are in great need of education, acting friendly bordering on irreverent with guests is not a good thing, gawking at female guests and calling them babes is in bad taste.

Hotel's Favorite
In a nutshell - the best overall resort experience I've ever had! Collectively, our group of 6 unanimously agreed. AND WE WERE NOT LEVEL. Just regular guests. So many reviews on this site are from Level guests so we really had no idea before we arrived of the non Level experience. As we were there for two weeks (Apr 1-15), I'll start with the most important reason the resort is so wonderful - the staff! To start our day, my friend and I went to the Balance Bar every morning for coffee/tea/smoothies and a few little pastries. YANELITZA, the barista there was amazing and always happy to see us!!! I enjoyed americanos with the odd cappucino every now and then and my friend, Yvette, had English Breakfast tea. We also enjoyed the smoothies from time to time which were fresh and fabulous as well as some of the specialty teas made daily. Now that I'm home, I'm wondering how I can survive each morning without that joyous start to the day where we sat in a beautiful airy breezeway with a colourful companion - the resident peacock - who would stop by to visit from time to time. A huge shout out to YANELITZA, our morning saviour who was some days accompanied by Adriana who was also lovely. To note, on the day we left, Yanelitza met us with a surprise delivery of our smoothies to the lobby! After the Balance Bar, we headed back to our room to get ready to hit the glorious beach. Our rooms were so very close to the lobby in building 19 (ours was 1916 - 2nd floor room overlooking the main thoroughfare to and from the beach and lush landscaping including a little lagoon with pink flamingos and other wildlife). We loved the location as at night, all the entertainment took place there and the evening buffet was a one minute walk. The peacock mentioned earlier took up residence in a tree near the room so we said hello along the way. The beach and pool were a short trolley ride away. They ran continuously and the drivers were always friendly and helpful. If we didn't want to wait, we walked - and the drivers would stop to ask when passing if we wanted a ride. Back to the room, we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and pillows, a well stocked mini fridge and a sweet, young cleaner who took great care of us. Never any shortage of towels or toilet paper - the basics for sure but these are things we have had to fight to get at many other resorts. Beach towels were never an issue and if your towel went missing, the helpful staff at the front desk went out of their way to ease your mind and provide a new card. Customer relations at the resort were also amazing - Antonio and Armondo and several others truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best guest experience. My friend will elaborate in her review on her interactions with both of these gentleman and others as she was their direct point of contact. The beach was our main retreat throughout the days and the pool from 5-7 pm was a great respite for our five o'clock Cosmo. Although there was some seaweed, it never hampered our ability to swim. The men on the beach worked tirelessly in the hot sun to clean it and we were in awe by their efforts. If you can, please show them some appreciation - they have very little. Beach chairs were never hard to find but a hut was more difficult...by noon, we could usually nab one but some days were harder and later than others. Activities at the beach and pool were many and varied such as mud cleansing, Pilates, yoga, dance lessons, spin bikes in the pool, aquafit, painting, paddle fit you name it! More about the animation team below...much more! As for the food quality/quantity, everywhere and anywhere we ate was divine. We all agreed, the best of any experience we have had. The breakfast and lunch buffets at the beach, the food truck by the pool bar, the dinner buffet by the lobby and all the restaurants we tried (we did the Vietnamese, the International, the Mediterranean, Quimera (thanks to Antonio/Armondo) and the Hacienda. We loved each and every one. We could have eaten at a few more a la cartes given we were there for two weeks but the buffet was soooooo good, we didn't bother. The pasta chef at the nighttime buffet deserves a special shoutout...he was quite funny and went out of his way to make a great pasta. LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THE FANTASTIC ANIMATION TEAM - a VERY, VERY SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to our great friends JAVIER (my future son-in-law lol) AND CLAUDIO who were just the best humans (NOT TO MENTION DANCERS) and who even organized a surprise birthday party for our friend, Theresa. It took place in the "Zen" room (as we labelled it) in the main lobby. They spear headed the event with one of the lobby waitresses, "Queen Moon" (Rena) independently. The management was on board and also there to greet us after dinner with Claudio, Javier, Rena, Ningel and Coca Cola (aka) with champagne and cake and the best rendition of happy birthday. Javier and Claudio even purchased gifts for our friend from the hotel shop. She was in tears...and we could not believe how they had gone out of their way to decorate and organize the event. These people deserve soooo much credit. In the daytime, this team also led many of the pool and beach events. They work so hard but always took the time to talk and hang out. Fun, smart, respectful, talented and professional. They truly made our trip so memorable and are the main reason we'd definitely return. The animation team was led by their tireless manager, Pablo, who was anywhere and everywhere - very engaged and respected by his team - the quality of the entertainment he procured was stellar from top quality musicians to singers to shows. He and the animation team had the lobby jamming and dancing through the night. Special mention was the Silent Party which was a first for us and probably our favourite event besides the Walk Around the Moon event - something we hadn't heard of before. So fun. We danced pretty much every night away in the lobby. Special shoutout to the night bar gents who were superb - the waitresses - RENA AND MODESTO, and others who we came to know and love. These lobby teams were simply amazing during the entire two weeks. Also, not to forget JOSE at the beach bar who was the BEST. He hustled day in and day out and stood out for sure. Finally, our waitress in the lunch buffet who was in the corner near the grill and bar. Her name escapes me right now but my friend Yvette will make mention in her review. Do not hesitate to book this resort. the demographic was young to old. It truly fits the bill as a wellness resort but so very fun at the same time - we came back rested and rejuvenated (although we made the most of each and every day and night...)! A few final points: The grounds are spectacular in and of themselves. We felt very safe - security team did a great job, The maintenance and gardening teams were superb - always at work cleaning and pruning and so very friendly. Overall, we felt very welcomed and pampered. I can't say enough. We cannot wait to return. We hope to see you again next year! THANK YOU ALL. Love from the Halifax, Nova Scotia gals: Lynn, Yvette, Theresa, Heidi, Carol Ann and Gwen

This was our first trip to Punta Cana. Our week was very relaxing with lots of sunshine. Our first Wellness resort trip. Reception was quick and efficient. Staff offered upgrade to level but price was ridiculous for 6 people. They came down a bit but we still didn’t find the cost worth it. They put my parents closer to the beach and serendipity restaurant which was kind. We spent most of our time at the beach which is huge and gorgeous. Lots of vendors but just pretend you’re sleeping and it’s fine. Lol. Only complaint is lack of beach activities and island music. Some fun activation games would be great! I’d rather hear island music than everyone’s conversations on their phones at the beach. Music is soulfully soothing and would fit into the wellness vibe. Maybe less people would be on their phones chattering obnoxiously. Both buffets were great. Mgr at buffet presented me with cards to notify staff of my allergy. Always something to eat. I actually prefered the buffet to a la carte. Vietnamese was decent. Tropical was good too. Mediterranean was not my favourite. Hummus was gross. Beach bar was my favourite. Ramone kept me safe all week as it’s difficult to order drinks without pineapple juice which I’m anaphylactic allergic to. Our room was large, comfortable and beautiful. 15 block. We Didn’t get beer everyday like our friends but once mentioned to guest services they made it right. Grounds were amazing as is the property. If I wasn’t nursing a pinched nerve I would have explored more. Pool was huge, fairly clean and deep. Bar was good. A few too many palapas for sun worshippers. We liked the beach better. Pool needed island music. Very boring. We had some 20 yr olds with us who have benefitted from some entertainment when they weren’t playing volleyball. My husband and I are in our 50’s and also found it boring. My parents, in their 70’s, also said the same thing. Also, are there not local beers in the DR?? Presidente is gross and $5 for a corona at an all inclusive? Crazy to have glass bottles in the pool. Sports bar was quiet but a nice retreat from the boring lobby. Entertainment was boring too. A fashion show, violinist, singers, quiet disco. Blah! American Elevator music is not what we expected in a beautiful Dominican Resort. Overall our vacation was enjoyed by all. We are all sun tanned and relaxed. The only thing from keeping us returning to Melia Punta Cana Wellness is the lack of music and entertainment.

Ok so a very mixed feeling about this holiday. We were not level guests and stayed in block 15 room 05, which is a ground floor room. The minute we arrived we were trying to be upgrade $800 reduced to $400 for a room near the beach. We refused this then after a 20 minute standing at check in I was given this room anyway due to a double booking! However we met some friends who were in the room we should have been in and it's exactly the same (slightly smaller bedroom), save your $400 and walk to the beach. There are golf carts that run, could be more often but a wait isn't an issue throughout the day just when you have an excursion or dinner reservations it becomes an issue. Tea and coffee facilities were there but not used, so I can't comment on this. Booking dinner reservations is painful. The staff on here don't speak great English and you can only book 2 days in advance. Every time they start with 9.30pm? No no no, are you keeping earlier spots for the level guests? It rains heavily every so often which is known, however the hotel doesn't accommodate for this. From our room 1505 we had a 10 min walk to reception, the road is flooded in a number of places so you are forced onto the grass which is just mud and covers your shoes. Noone wants to dress for dinner and walk through that! Extra shuttle busses should have been provided - for everyone not just them paying for levels either!!!! I'll do good, average and poor of the room, pool and food which are the most important points for us when we travel. Good - Room is very spacious with plenty of storage, lovely huge comfortable bed, television had LOADS of channels and could be changed from Spanish to English, mini bar temperature was good, decent content and filled daily (although hit and miss what you got) and a few mirrors around for getting dressed 😉. Air con lush and cool. Loved the rocking chairs on the terrace. Shower was spacious. Always plenty of clean towels and products every day. WiFi in the room was good, only on our last day did it lose connection. Main pool was very large and deep, so good for those who like a swim get a good few laps. Water activities were very consistent, 12 & 4pm. Staff at the pool bar were great, really friendly and attentive. We attempted Spanish and they humoured us 😂 They remembered your drinks as the stay went on and really are an asset to the hotel. We never went hungry throughout our 2 weeks however the buffet for breakfast and lunch then dinner does become repetative. The fresh pasta and omelette stations are the best - I had one of these each pretty much daily. The Vietnamese and Mediterranean restaurants are beautiful, I would get these in as early as you can. Absolutely visit the jiggar bar before your food (situated between the 2 restaurants) - best cocktails in the resort. Average - Cleaning was consistent however not always the cleanest once done. The safe didn't work (however I didn't bother going to reception to resolve this). Some of the draws stunk of damp, which then made our clothes smell (I just moved the things and didn't use that draw again). Blackout curtains were ok, but short to be completely dark. Some cockroaches on the terrace (looked dead as they were on the track of the sliding door, on the outside) were there all week. The fire alarm right above the bed flashes so much and is so bright. Our first 2 days we had no hot water and were told it was being looked at, and received no update. If you want a bed round the pool (in the shade or sun) you need to be there before 10am or you need to get to the beach. There are also so many palm trees that there isn't that much sunny areas without blocking the walkways. You are provided with towel cards for a towel each, the fresh ones come really early every day, however end really early too. So if you've been in the pool after 3, have a wet towel and want to change fresh for the next day - tough non left. You then have to take wet towels back to your room (as mentioned below there is nowhere to dry this). Not much hassle around the pool, you are asked if you want a coconut, trips etc but once you say no then they move on. There is no cleaning around the seating area throughout the day, guests leave food and drink packaging which attracts bugs! There are bins but people don't appear to use them! The specialist restaurant menus are small, so if you are lucky enough to go more than twice you end up eating the same food. Waiting staff are hit and miss, some are clearly working for a tip and deserve it, others couldn't care and hardly even speak. Poor - Bugs Bugs Bugs, we appeared to have mosquitos in our room daily, even though we never kept our terrace doors open. We resorted to putting a towel at the back of the door to try and block any gaps. Massive gaps all around the door, it didn't appear to fit the frame at all, you hear everything from upstairs and next door (see photos). No clothes rail on the terrace so you can only hang wet items on the backs of the chair, not ideal in a breezy coastal place. The bathroom needs an upgrade - very old and tired looking, the glass door between the bedroom and bathroom isn't great - who wants to see your partner in the loo??? The pool is dirty, it's not surprising to see foliage due to the amount round the pool, however there were caterpillars, bird poo, and human rubbish in there throughout the day. There's also what looks like a black scum round the sides, but I think this is this paint coming off from the AM scrub from the cleaners. You can feel and see the paint coming off on the floor. It appears there was only one rest room next to the pool bar (other than the ones next to the restaurant) so I can only assume alot of people did their pee in the pool as it's a large area to walk around. The shower areas around the pool were often blocked for days (see photos). Due to this people were coming off the beach and washing their feet in the pool. The staff round the pool and the towel desk will try and sell you trips, they are quite pushy and appear to add 'taxes of $10pp' to the booking, however if you go to the guy sitting in the buffet restaurant (he isn't pushy and very informative) the taxes are included in the price! Is this staff member trying to make $20+ per booking??? Also spa guys trying to get you in all the time when you enter the restaurant. The food area has alot of uncovered food so fly's are all over, this is very off putting. The staff are so hard working, however there is no structure of who is dealing with what. For example, you are sat at a table, no drinks, then getting water 25 mins later and then asked if you want anything else just before you leave. I know this is a spanish speaking country, however there are a lot of staff put in a position where they don't understand English. I waited 45 mins for a drink to find out the girl didn't understand me and only when I questioned this were we told she didn't understand. In short if you are not a level guest they don't care! We paid £4,000 for this holiday and it has been the most expensive Carribbean holiday yet, but we've been treated like lower guests. The hotel doesn't appear to recycle, if they do there are no separated bins which means the staff need to pick their way through the bags - so I'm assuming they don't recycle. Finally we were all inclusive, but only the standard was all inclusive, everything else attracted a charge. For example, cabana beds round the pool and beach area, roof top bar, pool waiters, anything other than cheap watered down drinks. Even to tables between sunbeds - these are kept for the 'special guests', you will see a few around our standard pool area however these levels guests come and take them for their beach. I've been to a number of large hotel chains in the Carribbean and this has been the worst - awful 1st (and so far last) experience of Melia. Disappointed couple ☹️

Visited Melia Wellness in Punta Cana Adults Only in Nov 2023 Pros -the staffs at the resort does not expect a tip but it will be appreciated -lovely selection on activities. There is daily yoga. Other activities include water aerobics and water Zumba, painting class, making coconut oil class, dance class, wine and chocolate tasting classes just to name a few. Evenings is filled with activities of dancing and live music. -the clientele were respectful and not too loud. Mostly older people and couples were at this resort -the a la carte restaurants were portion controlled. I felt the selection at the restaurants were very good. I’m the most part the meals were quite healthy and meats were not overcooked at the restaurants Cons -the Buffett for breakfast, lunch and dinner was underwhelming. The meats at the buffets were overcooked and was very tough. The selection is limited and there is little change in the food option -there are incidents in which some people have drank too much and threw up at the resort. There was a lingering strong smell of vomit in parts of the resort -the signs were confusing. Was lost a few times -the beach area for level guests were not watched/polices by any staff so many non level guests snagged the premium seats when they have not paid for the upgrade. -the rooms were not cleaned daily. Mostly housecleaning only tucked in the bed covers, gave new towels and took out the garbage. I noticed the floors were not swept and shower was not cleaned during the stay Recommendations -Level Up. It’s worth it for the service and the option for a la carte restaurants. If you are not level status you will not receive free room service nor will you receive beach drink service (mean you will need to go get your own drinks) -you won’t have a butler to show your room Recommendations for the hotel -recommend the map to have ‘you are here’. It’s hard to orientate where you are in relation to the map when you are lost -get new pillows

All employees are very friendly and helpful . The food is also good especially you go to a themed restaurant. This is the best resort I have ever stayed at! I went with my sister and my friend for a long birthday vacation from England and it was the best thing we ever did- but the best thing for us was the pool bar! Maribel and Domingo made us the best cocktails everyday and were so friendly, welcoming- it almost made me feel like home!! Can’t wait to come back and visit

The resort is an absolute dream. We stayed in The Level which in our opinion is worth the cost to upgrade. Our favorite spot was definitely the main pool. We spent a lot of our time there. The gentleman providing the poolside drink service, Theo was so fantastic. Our concierge, Bernardo was also great! He made sure we had what we needed, our reservations were booked (and rescheduled) as needed. He was on top of it. He even snuck in a few surprises for us. He would always pop over to check on us if he was passing by during his work day. The food and drinks were amazing. We did have a couple of sick days as this was our first time travelling outside of North America. Thankful for new vacation friends who were smart enough to bring tummy meds and kind enough to share with us. The only real down side we noticed was not enough carts going to travel guests from one end of the resort to the other. Sometimes waiting 15-20 minutes. Mind you, it’s totally fine to walk in the right footwear. The grounds are beautifully lit up at night. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Too much panhandling for a wellness resort! Everyone wants to grab you to do a timeshare meeting or book excursions because they get commission. Our TV was mounted lopsided and had terrible resolution. The phone had static as well. It just felt very old. The grounds were well maintained but the bicycles were all broken for the entire 7 days I was there. For every issue we had, we needed to call the front desk more than once about it before they sent someone. Front desk was also hard to reach. They don't answer most of the time and because of that we had to haul our own suitcases down two flights of stairs when leaving. The pool area always felt cold because of where it is located by the beach. Be careful of the guys out front who call you a taxi as well. They call their friends who then try to overcharge you so they can share the profits. One tried to charge me $35 dollars roundtrip to bring me down the street and back ..it was a 7 minute drive.
