At the Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness Inclusive, guests have called out the lavish grounds, impressive pool, and picturesque beach, though some visitors feel the value doesn't match the price due to extra charges for premium offerings. While the service garners accolades for its warmth and efficiency, the noise from party boats and music can be a downside for those seeking peace. Room cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with several guests suggesting updates are needed. Despite this, the hotel's beachfront allure and proximity to the airport are frequently praised.

Had a lovely time at Melia Punta Cana. Breakfast buffet super but evening buffet average. The Level and Mediterranean
restaurants were very good.

What made our holiday really special was having someone like Ronny look after us so well. He was excellent in every way. Any problems he was always there to help.

Booking into the restaurants was taken care of, simply choosing which one we wanted and the time, Ronny took care of it always updating you via WhatsApp. Ronny is a credit to the hotel and would be a reason for booking another holiday at the hotel. Thanks and well done Ronny.

Choosing a Premium room was definitely an advantage. You are close to the beach, the main pool, gym, yoga and the breakfast restaurant. - yoga class beautiful location , overlooking the sea on the beach.

The walk from the Premium rooms by the beach to the main building is about a 15 minute walk or you can just wait12 mins and hop on the golf buggy shuttle service.

The entertainment team were great fun, water aerobics, beach volley ball were all great fun.

The night time entertainment was varied and was good, ranging from silent disco to acrobatics.

The beach is lovely, long enough for a good walk and safe. Every morning the beach was cleared of any seaweed build up, so not a problem.

If you ever go there look out for
Ronny , he’s the BEST!

In a nutshell - the best overall resort experience I've ever had! Collectively, our group of 6 unanimously agreed. AND WE WERE NOT LEVEL. Just regular guests. So many reviews on this site are from Level guests so we really had no idea before we arrived of the non Level experience. As we were there for two weeks (Apr 1-15), I'll start with the most important reason the resort is so wonderful - the staff! To start our day, my friend and I went to the Balance Bar every morning for coffee/tea/smoothies and a few little pastries. YANELITZA, the barista there was amazing and always happy to see us!!! I enjoyed americanos with the odd cappucino every now and then and my friend, Yvette, had English Breakfast tea. We also enjoyed the smoothies from time to time which were fresh and fabulous as well as some of the specialty teas made daily. Now that I'm home, I'm wondering how I can survive each morning without that joyous start to the day where we sat in a beautiful airy breezeway with a colourful companion - the resident peacock - who would stop by to visit from time to time. A huge shout out to YANELITZA, our morning saviour who was some days accompanied by Adriana who was also lovely. To note, on the day we left, Yanelitza met us with a surprise delivery of our smoothies to the lobby!
After the Balance Bar, we headed back to our room to get ready to hit the glorious beach. Our rooms were so very close to the lobby in building 19 (ours was 1916 - 2nd floor room overlooking the main thoroughfare to and from the beach and lush landscaping including a little lagoon with pink flamingos and other wildlife). We loved the location as at night, all the entertainment took place there and the evening buffet was a one minute walk. The peacock mentioned earlier took up residence in a tree near the room so we said hello along the way. The beach and pool were a short trolley ride away. They ran continuously and the drivers were always friendly and helpful. If we didn't want to wait, we walked - and the drivers would stop to ask when passing if we wanted a ride.
Back to the room, we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and pillows, a well stocked mini fridge and a sweet, young cleaner who took great care of us. Never any shortage of towels or toilet paper - the basics for sure but these are things we have had to fight to get at many other resorts. Beach towels were never an issue and if your towel went missing, the helpful staff at the front desk went out of their way to ease your mind and provide a new card. Customer relations at the resort were also amazing - Antonio and Armondo and several others truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best guest experience. My friend will elaborate in her review on her interactions with both of these gentleman and others as she was their direct point of contact.
The beach was our main retreat throughout the days and the pool from 5-7 pm was a great respite for our five o'clock Cosmo. Although there was some seaweed, it never hampered our ability to swim. The men on the beach worked tirelessly in the hot sun to clean it and we were in awe by their efforts. If you can, please show them some appreciation - they have very little. Beach chairs were never hard to find but a hut was more difficult...by noon, we could usually nab one but some days were harder and later than others. Activities at the beach and pool were many and varied such as mud cleansing, Pilates, yoga, dance lessons, spin bikes in the pool, aquafit, painting, paddle fit you name it! More about the animation team below...much more!
As for the food quality/quantity, everywhere and anywhere we ate was divine. We all agreed, the best of any experience we have had. The breakfast and lunch buffets at the beach, the food truck by the pool bar, the dinner buffet by the lobby and all the restaurants we tried (we did the Vietnamese, the International, the Mediterranean, Quimera (thanks to Antonio/Armondo) and the Hacienda. We loved each and every one. We could have eaten at a few more a la cartes given we were there for two weeks but the buffet was soooooo good, we didn't bother. The pasta chef at the nighttime buffet deserves a special shoutout...he was quite funny and went out of his way to make a great pasta.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THE FANTASTIC ANIMATION TEAM - a VERY, VERY SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to our great friends JAVIER (my future son-in-law lol) AND CLAUDIO who were just the best humans (NOT TO MENTION DANCERS) and who even organized a surprise birthday party for our friend, Theresa. It took place in the "Zen" room (as we labelled it) in the main lobby. They spear headed the event with one of the lobby waitresses, "Queen Moon" (Rena) independently. The management was on board and also there to greet us after dinner with Claudio, Javier, Rena, Ningel and Coca Cola (aka) with champagne and cake and the best rendition of happy birthday. Javier and Claudio even purchased gifts for our friend from the hotel shop. She was in tears...and we could not believe how they had gone out of their way to decorate and organize the event. These people deserve soooo much credit. In the daytime, this team also led many of the pool and beach events. They work so hard but always took the time to talk and hang out. Fun, smart, respectful, talented and professional. They truly made our trip so memorable and are the main reason we'd definitely return. The animation team was led by their tireless manager, Pablo, who was anywhere and everywhere - very engaged and respected by his team - the quality of the entertainment he procured was stellar from top quality musicians to singers to shows. He and the animation team had the lobby jamming and dancing through the night. Special mention was the Silent Party which was a first for us and probably our favourite event besides the Walk Around the Moon event - something we hadn't heard of before. So fun. We danced pretty much every night away in the lobby. Special shoutout to the night bar gents who were superb - the waitresses - RENA AND MODESTO, and others who we came to know and love. These lobby teams were simply amazing during the entire two weeks.
Also, not to forget JOSE at the beach bar who was the BEST. He hustled day in and day out and stood out for sure. Finally, our waitress in the lunch buffet who was in the corner near the grill and bar. Her name escapes me right now but my friend Yvette will make mention in her review.
Do not hesitate to book this resort. the demographic was young to old. It truly fits the bill as a wellness resort but so very fun at the same time - we came back rested and rejuvenated (although we made the most of each and every day and night...)!
A few final points: The grounds are spectacular in and of themselves. We felt very safe - security team did a great job, The maintenance and gardening teams were superb - always at work cleaning and pruning and so very friendly. Overall, we felt very welcomed and pampered. I can't say enough. We cannot wait to return.

We hope to see you again next year! THANK YOU ALL.
Love from the Halifax, Nova Scotia gals:
Lynn, Yvette, Theresa, Heidi, Carol Ann and Gwen

The complex is beautifully designed. The shuttle bus from the lobby to the beach is definitely necessary as the route is very long. But it worked very well you never had to wait long to get from A to B. Some small things could be improved, such as hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, we don't need new ones every day, or toilet brushes. Sometimes the staff in the restaurants were a bit overwhelmed with the amount of guests, but if you asked for a drink, someone came directly, so half as wild.
In the morning at 7am most of the sunbeds and cabanas by the pool and on the beach were already reserved, which was actually quite annoying and we found it sad that it was not stopped. Partly we watched as the staff even put the towels down neatly even though no one had been there for hours. It shouldn't be like that.
The gentleman from the spa, who was supposed to sell spa visits on the beach, got cheeky when told for the second or third time that you don't want to extend the free visit of 30min for 100 dollars by 20min. We can't do that at all. Toni from the gentlemen who sells trips from the hotel also approached us verbally when we told him that we had already booked our trips online. NO GO!
The rooftop bar at the Quimera is super nice and if you want it a bit quieter in the evening this place is definitely recommended. In general, we would recommend the Upgade level, it already brings meaningful aspects. Our concierge Amabel took over our reservations for the restaurants and even if there was actually no more space, space was made for us. The evening entertainment in the lobby was good, but repeated itself after a week, so in the second week we used more in the rooftop bar.
If possible, try to avoid room 1523 and the one below, unfortunately we had the view of the kitchen and the delivery of the next hotel, not very nice.

All in all it was a very nice stay and we would definitely come back.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept!

The room was nice but in need of repair (an outlet was hanging out of the wall, no toilet paper holder, and the rain shower head leaked). There were issues with water pressure most days and one night no hot water at all. Housekeeping did a good job with cleaning but were inconsistent with restocking towels, wash cloths, and hand towels. Fortunately a phone call to concierge remedied the problem quickly with the linen. The mattress was in need of replacement due to a large area sinking in the middle.

The pool areas were clean and beautifully maintained..just not enough loungers by the large pool requiring guests to get up at 6 am( in the dark) just to get a seat by the pool! Also we saw several people slip and fall at the zero depth entrance..this definitely needs to be addressed before someone really hurts themselves. The pool bar was fun and Julio always greeted people with a smile!

The breakfast and lunch buffet at Serendipia were always good with lots of choices. The dinner buffet was not great..thank goodness for the a la carte restaurants. The alcoholic drinks were made with no name alcohol and not consistent in how they were made.

The activity staff does a great job and deserve a shout out as well!
The spa and staff were excellent and very professional.

I would like to thank Rebeca Sanchez for always helping when we needed it and she always had a smile for us when we saw her!

My biggest complaint was that people were allowed to smoke/vape in the pool area and lounge area..seriously this resort is supposed to support wellness..designated smoking areas away from people would be helpful and appreciated by the non smokers!

We were a party of 6 and had a great time but it is very apparent that the guests that were Level had a much better experience and that is unacceptable..all guests should receive the same experience not just the ones that can afford the extra cost!

Dear guest, Thank you for this review about your stay with us at Meliá Punta Cana Beach. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beauty and upkeep of our grounds, as well as the cleanliness and maintenance of our pool areas. It's also wonderful to know that our gastronomic experiences at Serendipia met your expectations with a variety of choices. We're proud that our YHI Spa and staff provided you with excellent and professional service, contributing to a memorable stay. However, we regret to hear about the issues you faced during your stay, including the room repairs needed and the water pressure inconsistencies. We also take note of your concerns regarding the availability of loungers by the pool and the slipperiness at the zero depth entrance. We are constantly striving to enhance our guest room experience and will ensure that our service culture continues to focus on guest satisfaction. Regarding your observations on smoking areas, we are committed to the well-being of all our guests and will consider your suggestion for designated smoking areas to improve the comfort of our non-smoking guests. We're also pleased that you recognized the efforts of our activity staff and the personalized service provided by Rebeca Sanchez. As for the experiences of guests at The Level, we aim to offer exceptional services and exclusive perks, yet we strive to ensure every guest enjoys a wonderful stay, regardless of the room category chosen. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Kindest regards, Ediangie Rodriguez Gex Experience Manager at Melia Punta Cana Beach A Wellness Inclusive Resort | Adults Only

My wife and I booked a 14-day trip to a resort for our birthdays, as we celebrate our birthdays 5 days apart. The grounds and lobby were impressive, and we were excited to stay for two weeks.

However, I would warn you not to make decisions based on the photos. Trust the reviews… We struggled to find chairs at the pool or beach and had to wake up early to reserve them.

After two weeks, I’m eager to return home and be able to enjoy food that isn’t so repetitive especially from the repetitive buffet, which only changes a small section daily. The desserts at the buffet are essentially pudding mixed with gelatine ti create a custard cake? The beds were not comfortable, and the housekeeping was extremely inconsistent. We left a tip for house keeping and they took the tip and did not do anything else… it required us to leave notes to avoid going without changing sheets for multiple days.

The staff is great, but they prefer to help those who tip without justification! I want you to earn my tip, stop acting like you deserve it.

This is the first time we have stayed at a more luxurious “5 star resort” and we would say the services here are equal or lesser value than the “lower quality” resorts we stayed at previously.

The Spa is extremely over priced and unless you upgrade to the Level package you can’t go inside without paying $35

All in all would recommend someone to do more research and go somewhere else.

Dear Mr. Jeremy, Thanks for taking the time to share your views of your visit. We're delighted to hear you found our staff great and appreciated their service. Our team takes pride in offering service culture that enhances our guests' experiences. It's great to know that the beauty of our grounds and lobby made a positive first impression. We always aim to provide a wide array of gastronomic experiences, and we're sorry if you found the buffet options repetitive. Our YHI Spa is designed to offer a sanctuary of wellness, and we're saddened to hear that you felt the services were overpriced. We understand that every guest's perception of value is unique, and we strive to provide an exceptional room experience for all. We are continuously working to improve our offerings and appreciate your feedback on the areas where we can enhance our guest experience. We stayed at Melia Punta Cana for a week, and had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful, with lots of green space and quiet places to relax, as well as 4 pools, a beautiful stretch of beach and multiple restaurants.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We chose the Level Wellness upgrade, which meant we had a concierge. Daniel was very attentive and kept in touch on WhatsApp by sending the schedule of activities each day and booking our dinner reservations and spa treatments. He was there to help with all aspects of our stay, including check in, check out, reservations and general questions, so we could just focus on relaxing and enjoying the trip.

We chose the resort due to the wellness focus, and enjoyed the yoga, spa, and reflexology sessions as well as the availability of healthy food and snack options. With the Level upgrade, we could eat in an a la carte restaurant for breakfast and lunch (instead of the buffet), and we could find a range of healthy options in reasonable portions. There was also a wide range of snack options, including healthier options like smoothies, juice blends and fresh fruit.

Our Staywell upgrade meant we had daily massages included. We combined the 30-minute daily massages into a 1.5 hour and a 1 hour session. I recommend booking any spa treatments as soon as you arrive, since the spa times seem to book up in advance.

I had never been to an all-inclusive resort before, but apparently it’s common for people to get up very early to reserve chairs on the beach or by the pool. We chose not to do that, and could always get a chair in the shade or sun on the beach, or in full sun at the pool, but by the time we got up all of the chairs in the shade by the pool were always taken.

The atmosphere at the resort was very friendly and relaxed (staff and guests). Despite the fact that the stay includes alcoholic beverages, and people were definitely drinking throughout the day on the beach, at restaurants and at the swim-up bar, we didn’t see or hear anyone who was visibly drunk. The other guests were friendly, but even the big groups weren’t rowdy at all, and we were never bothered by loud music or talking (at night or throughout the day).

Our room was in the section closer to the beach (as opposed to closer to the lobby), but the walk to the lobby wasn’t too far (10 minutes at a moderate pace), and there were places to rest in the shade along the way if needed. Most of the times when we were walking back and forth we saw the trolley come by at least a few times, so we weren’t concerned about having to wait if it was raining or we had luggage. With the rooms spread out over a larger area it made it feel like guests weren’t all on top of each other, which added to the quieter atmosphere.

I would highly recommend Melia Punta Cana for people who are looking for healthy options for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

I will start by saying the lobby and the grounds were very pretty. I took my girlfriend here for her 48th birthday. The food is aweful And the wait for the buffet was over 40 minutes They need to pick you up in golf carts and trains that are in the resort bc it’s so big. Too long to walk from lobby to pool or beach. No one speaks English other than the check in personnel which was extremely difficult to ask any questions. There is one beer on tap (presidents) included. All
Others you must pay for. The casino has 2 roulette and 2 black jack and a dozen slots. It’s filled w smoke. At the pool they took our towel cards when we booked an excursion and we had to fight nearly every day to get towels. The excursion off the property was AMAZING! It involved zip lining. Horse back riding. doom buggies and a great lunch all
For $120. The ride was about 1:10 minutes away but we’ll Worth it. While at dinner at the resort I had paid extra $50
For a steak bc the food was so terrible and when the steak came out it was filled w fat so I did not eat it. When I tried to explain to the front desk upon checking out that I didn’t eat it. They claimed they called our waitress and she said I did. It wasn’t worth the $50 argument. Upon check out they offered a hospitality room where we can shower to leave the premises bc our flights were later in the evening and check out is at noon and then gave us keys to another guests room. This was unsettling and shows you how unorganized this property is. We also had to put our towels on the grass near the pool bc they have zero policy in place about towels reserving the chairs by the pool. We were at the pool
At 10am and watched dozen of chairs empty for several hours. It was just a terrible experience and we will never return to This property

Response from Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Melia Punta Cana Beach
Responded Feb 26, 2024
Dear Mr. Vf, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you appreciated the beauty of our lobby and grounds, they are indeed designed to offer a serene and luxurious welcome. It's also gratifying to know that you found your off-property excursion to be amazing, providing fond memories of adventure and local culture. On the other hand, we regret to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on our gastronomic experiences, and it's disheartening to learn that our culinary offerings fell short for you. Our resort strives to offer a variety of dining options to cater to all palates, and we regret that we missed the mark. Regarding the wait times at the buffet and the challenges around the pool towels, we will certainly reflect on your feedback. Our intention is always to provide seamless service and comfort for our guests. Lastly, we're sorry to hear about the confusion with the hospitality room, and we want to assure you that guest privacy and organization are of utmost importance to us. We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Kindest regards, Derryl D'costa Hotel Manager Melia Punta Cana Beach A Wellness Inclusive Resort | Adults Only

We spent 12 days in this resort and I must say that we are pleasantly satisfied, even if there are a few notes to tidy up. The resort is very well kept, large, clean spaces, greenery well cared for on a daily basis, right from the start you enter the relaxing atmosphere of the entire property. Services: the structure offers everything, we really appreciated the various lessons scheduled during the week (special thanks to Florencia yoga teacher); the daytime and evening entertainment guys are very good, not intrusive but at the same time communicative. It's difficult to get bored, between courses, swimming pool, beach and SPA. Even in the evening the customer always has a wide range of entertainment available. Catering: we are quite satisfied with the catering, the buffet restaurant offers many products, in particular the grilled meats and fish are excellent. Cold products such as salads, vegetables and other condiments should be kept cool. The two restaurants upon reservation (Mar de sal and Muoi) are also very good. Table service is fast and quite precise, it is difficult for the staff to keep customers waiting. The guys who work there have always been considerate towards us. The SPA is truly regenerating, I recommend every customer to take advantage of it because the staff is very capable and professional.
I would like to point out some small notes to improve the customer experience: unfortunately the service at the pool bar was distracted, slow and unprofessional; the beautiful beach unfortunately the temporary presence of algae made swimming difficult. We happened to walk back at night because the electric machine had run out of battery, this shouldn't happen. We had problems with a refund (which in the end was not given to us) for an excursion booked with agents who pass by on the beach: don't trust them because they don't work well and the hotel should not allow these people to pass through. The rooms: yes, they are not 5-star hotels, the bed is very comfortable but the noisy air conditioning system should be modernized and cleaning should be done more carefully, paying attention to the maintenance of even small things (towel holder, toilet paper holder, clean better the shower glass). Despite this, when we called about a room problem, it was resolved immediately. I end by reporting an episode that often happened: at 7.30 in the morning the pool loungers were already almost all occupied by "ghost" customers who left their towels and went away; I pointed out this situation several times to the managers but they did not take action, even though the rules posted at the entrance to the swimming pool are clear. It's not the hotel's fault but the poorly behaved customers, but the staff should intervene in some way. In conclusion, we will keep a beautiful memory of this place and the holiday, certainly this hotel can offer the customer everything he wants, certain of the necessary improvements. Lastly: the lobby bar is perfect, thanks for the excellent cocktails!

This hotel has everything you need for a luxurious holiday. And having chosen The Level made our experience even better.

- Comfortable and spacious rooms, all located among beautifully maintained gardens and palm trees
- 4 Ă  la carte restaurants included for dinner, all with different themes and very good options (lots of fish). There is also one more restaurant with a buffet.
- Straw umbrellas and loungers available and almost no people on the beach
- Several pools with bars and bar with beach service
- Different free activities (Yoga, Volley, painting, etc.) are offered daily, as well as a well-equipped gym with air conditioning

The experience at The Level is worth it as it adds a few special things:

- A “butler” assigned and available throughout the stay
- An exclusive Ă  la carte restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and air conditioning to escape the midday heat)
- A rooftop bar with a very nice view to enjoy good cocktails at night
- A separate sector on the beach with own bar and 2 exclusive pools also
- A SPA with various services at additional cost and a water circuit included

We were lucky to be attended by Eduardo (“Eddie Solutions”), who always helped us in all our orders and cared to make our stay the best. Every day he wrote to ask us what we needed and also gave us several tips in a selfless way that were very useful!

Some minor points to keep in mind:
-While the hotel has nets to contain the sargassum, at the time we went there was plenty and the water was not transparent. This is something that happens in every hotel in the area but apparently only happens during the summer
- Some rooms have very noisy air conditioning, to the point of not being able to be used. In our case we had to change rooms because of this issue, but we were able to do it without any problems
- The housekeeping service is noticed very early, starting to talk and knocking on the doors of the rooms from 08:30 AM
The coupon delivered on the first day for consumption is misleading. Conditions are unclear and most are not written, which ends up generating a disappointment when you want to use it

In conclusion, the infrastructure and service of the staff make the experience personalized even in a hotel of such size.

We will return without hesitation!

El hotel tiene salida directa a la playa. No hace falta cruzar ninguna calle. Si estás alojado lejos de la playa, hay carritos de golf que te acercan
