Having an amazing vacation. The resort is beautiful, clean and great customer service. Special shout to Juan at the gym, he is a great instructor and friendly. The gym at the resort met my expectations it has alot of equipment and its well kept.
The Royalton Bavaro is getting it right! We were in the Diamond Club and we loved it. The check in was amazing. Off the bus and straight into a cart with our luggage to the Diamond Club lounge. "Have a seat ,.would you like any drinks, there are snacks over there and we will bring the paperwork to you" wow! Great start! The bracelets ARE your room key! What an amazing concept! So all of us had our room key always with us.( the Staff puts the bracelets on with a crimper and my sons came off in the flow rider. They did initially tell us it would be $50 US to replace it. I was pretty annoyed since it's not like he played with it and lost it.. they put it on and I guess it wasn't right so how is that oit fault. And my son felt.super bad because he's no irresponsible, he had told me right away that it was gone) Anyhow, the next day, we were ready to pay up but a supervisor was there and said "no charge". Phew! Another win for.the Royalton. We.met our Butler Edwin at check-in. So nice and personable. We didn't need him much BUT when we did,.he was so responsive and helpful. Ready to come to us where ever we were to get things done. The room was nice. Clean . The closet door was broken which doesn't seem like much but it has a light that activated when the door was opened and it kept coming on and off throughout the night so we asked Edwin and he got the crew there to fix it the next day. One thing that's different is that we couldn't control our own AC. Usually there is a control in the room but not here. It would be nice to have that but it is what it is. The two kids shared a pull out couch. They didn't complain at all but in hindsight, would.have been nice for them to have an actual bed. The towel service!! Another HUGE win for the Royalton Bavaro! Beach towels are abundant! And you just pick them up at two locations and when they are wet or dirty, they have receptacles to put them in and you can go get more. No more guarding towels!!! In my opinion,.this is a big stress reliever! That and never having to look for the room key. Restaurants galore. Good food. Service is good too.. staff is super.friendly! Entertainment is so so. They have musicians in the lobby before dinner that we loved to have pre-dinner drinks and listen to but after dinner.. there's nothing. There is a big beautiful stage area in the lobby. It's nicely lit,.etc but after dinner.. you come out of the main buffet and you watch kids running and playing there. There is no music amd nothing to keep you entertained until the shows start at 9pm I felt they could do.something better there. We don't stay up late for the shows so can't really comment on the quality on the late shows. We watched the circus one and it was ok / good. Would be nice to have a second coffee bar at the other end of the resort. The coffee bar is at the lobby amd very popular so it would be great to have a second one somewhere closer to the beach. But thats just a suggestion no complaint. You can get a coffee at the DC lounge too. The beach is nice. If the waves are strong, they do bring in sea weed. It's not yucky though. Not slimy. Just plant material. My daughter and I both had a small reaction to the brown plant kind. A small rash. Must have been touching us for longer than a second or two. A bit of Voltaren gel and it went away. The sales people.on the beach are easily dissuaded if you say no right away. But if you start looking at something, be prepared to negotiate or be very firm. The animals they will take pictures of you with cost $$ They will all negotiate significantly so make sure to bring some haggling confidence. Chairs at the beach and pool are very comfortable. Loads of shade if you want it. Bars and drinks everywhere. We did power sailing and the Bavaro adventure park. Both were good. Don't know if I would do the power sailing again. It is rough on the boat and then a quick up and down (maybe 15 minutes) it IS fun but it's like $40 - $60 US and they get you with the picture costs. There is a photographer on the boat taking pictures and of course.. you want the memories lol so I paid.. not cheap. $40 per round. The Bavaro adventure park was fun. Buggy zip lining and horses. You aren't allowed to take any camera with you other than go pros on the helmet ,.but they have photographers everywhere that get cool shots and I got sucked in again and paid big $$$ for them You can say No for sure. They don't pressure you at all. If you want to do power sailing book it early because if the wind isn't blowing right,.they don't do it. So don't wait to the last day or two. We had a great trip. We came from Canada and had to have the PCR test done . And QR codes for entering and leaving DR. Plus Arrivecan that didn't even work at the Canada Airport... but you need to have a smart phone and save those codes. The Royaltons wifi is great! Works everywhere from the beach to the lobby! It's a bit rough in the evenings when everyone seems to be on but other wise, super good. The lazy river is not too fast. Not much flow so you sort of swim or paddle through it. And it's not warm. But the kids liked it. It is fun to go through a few times. Flow Rider is super fun. Hard! But the guy who is there doing it was super good and nice. We took advantage of the Punta Cana Splash park (included with Diamond club) and it was fun for the afternoon) I could go on and on but all to say, great vacay. Glad we were able to get away before more restrictions came in. The staff at the Royalton all went masks all the time. They have hand sanitizer at the restaurants and disposable face masks in case you forget. When you BOOK your PCR test make sure you PAY at the same time. Otherwise you show up for your appointment and have to get back in line, which could be an hour. Great resort!…
Great location, mini bar service is great man named Imanul M. Helped me with snacks and drinks when needed! Another thing would be when towels were needed and people who work here are great, positive, and never seemed mad to serve you
Amazing gym with lots of great equipment. The gym also had all the equipment that I needed Throughout my experience even better. Super friendly people like johan and Juan helping throughout your experience.
I want to thank Andre for really looking out for me and my daughter. We had a bad experience when we first got to the resort with our room. A few things was not up to our standards but he made every effort to accommodate us. He reached out to a lot of other managers to see if he could change our room that day and he didn’t give up. So he made sure that it was changed the next day to a much better room. Every time we seen Andre he is always smiling and have conversation with us. I want to thank you again for your kindness. They need a lot more people in that resort like you. You are definitely a great manager. Thanks again ❤️
We arrived from the airport at around 3pm, as expected. Our room was not ready until 5pm, so we had to wait in the Diamond club lounge. Not the end of the world, but no apology for the inconvenience. Finally, we were able to get to our room, and at first it seemed really great. We had a Chairmans Suite on the top floor, room 20402, and the view from there was really incredible. Issues - the TV system doesn't work properly, and the freezer icemaker doesn't work at all, even though we have a full bar. Fortunately we had our butler, Nelson, who agreed to bring ice each evening. However, nothing was done about the TV. No excuse, no apology. We have stayed in a Royalton Chairmans Suite before, in St Lucia, I suppose apart from a few decor changes, they are all the same. Except in St Lucia we asked for billiard chalk to use the pool table, Bavaro you ask but don't get, not even a response. First night dinner - Oceanside - everything was fine. Second day - breakfast at the main buffet, Gourmet Marche. The hot food was served cold. I complained to our butler to see if this can be addressed. It wasn't. Second evening - Hunter, the steakhouse. We all ordered crab cakes to start. A set of crab cakes was with us within 20 seconds, they were cold, hard and inedible. They were sent back for fresh, hot ones. Not very good. Main course, a very poor NY Strip, overcooked, with cold onion rings. Got a new steak, it was not good. Third day - breakfast at Gourmet Marche - hot food was cold again. Really not acceptable, the temperatures are way below the minimum required standard before the food should be removed from the buffet and discarded. I told the egg cook that it was cold, and he couldn't care less. IU asked a waiter if I could possibly have some hot food, and he said, 'No, only cold'. Third dinner - Zen - very nice, although it is way too hot inside the restaurant. Fourth day - breakfast at the Diamond Club only 'Oceanside'. Breakfast was cold, just like the buffet. I realise why - the hot plate that all the dishes are on is turned off, probably for the comfort of the egg cooks, that must find it too hot when the hot food food is hot. Absolutely unacceptable, really horrible, and below the standards allowed for operators serving breakfast. I reported this to Nelson, our butler, he recommended ordering room service breakfast the next day. Dinner - Grazie the Italian restaurant. Stone cold calamari. Everything else, not great, but OK. Food generally not well seasoned, and not resembling anything from Italy. My chicken Parmigiana was like a TV dinner. Breakfast the next day, we ordered room service, and not only were many items missing, it was stone cold, the eggs were like rubber, and only 2 coffees for 3 people. I had ordered 7 coffees, so we could all have more than one cup. We waited ages for it too. By the 6th day, Nelson was off for a few days. In St Lucia, this means you have a second butler to look after you, but this was not the case. We did not get ice or drinks while he was away. However, since he was off, I met a supervisor who introduced me to Mr Alexis, a manager of Food & Beverage, and he was very kind and helpful, and promised that the cold food would never happen again. Breakfast was hot after that, but only for 2 days, then it became cold again. I met Jose in Oceanside, he said he would take care of cooking me a breakfast and giving it to me straight from the kitchen. I had this once, and it was OK, but I am still concerned about everyone else that eats there. I pointed out that the hot plate was cold, it was off. Overall, we were subjected to food that was below the standard we experienced four years ago, at temperatures that varied between acceptable and room temperature. Most concerning was the service. Cold food is not only irritating, it demonstrates the attitude of the organisation towards food handling. A careless attitude results in mistakes that could poison someone. We have experienced this before. Furthermore, whenever food was below par, there is never any apology or even any excuse. In 2018, the food was much better, and it seemed the service was much more attentive. Worst of all was Scoops, the ice cream place. Imagine walking about half a mile in boiling hot temperatures to get a refreshing ice cream, and when you get there they just tell you, 'NO'. They had no ice cream, and no reason why. This happened on several days, and your only choice is to walk half a mile back having had nothing. The good things - if you are loud and Spanish speaking, you will be served at bars very quickly. If you are not Spanish speaking, not so fast, but quite good if you tip enough. The bars are all nice places to be, with premium spirits and good bartenders. Most of all, Sands, near the beach, and Martini Mix. Starling at the Diamond Club pool was a great help, he was always happy to move beds and umbrellas to make you more comfortable. The Vibe Team,…
The exercise classes are fantastic!!!! Yoga and water zumba with David and Mirtha are so good. Both do a fantastic job of engaging you while providing an excellent work out!! Love that the Royalton offers so many exercise programs!
I’ve never had an experience like I’ve had at Royalton Bavaro. Our room was always clean the Quality, service, and attention to detail. The staff was 10/10. Always smiling, always pleasant, we have never felt so pampered. We could not be happier with Julio literally the most sweetest and caring person ever . Every time we would reach out to him even if it was late at night he would immediately respond. We had a wonderful time from first day that we got there to the very last day. Thank you Julio for making this the most memorable time ever and for taking your time to explain everything in detail from start to finish for recommending us places and always asking if we were ok.
Me and my friends had the best time at Royalton hotel, and Julio made the most of your time. He took care of our group and made all necessary arrangements so we didn’t have to worry at all. I would definitely recommend
Kelvin Pie (Butler ) and Juan Sim (Supervisor) service was perfect! My experience is nothing but 5 stars! They made sure my stay was amazing! On the day I wanted to stay in bed verses going to get breakfast…..My butler ordered me room service so I wouldn’t miss breakfast! I would definitely stay here again! The Resort is beautiful, I recommend a swim out suite with Diamond service! You get your very own butler with additional service……..it’s worth the extra money for the upgrade. You won’t be disappointed!
