This review is super late, but we had an excellent time at this resort celebrating our honeymoon! It is a relaxed adults only resort, located in a big compound of other iberostar resorts and a golf course. You have access to all the amenities at the neighboring Iberstars, but they can’t come to this one because it is adults only. The butler service was so nice- towel animals, floral decorations, baths drawn with complementary champagne, more champagne on arrival, snacks, waters, mini bottles of liquor- the works! Room service is included and was awesome to have breakfast scheduled to your room on any morning you wanted it. The restaurants were also delicious. Make sure to ask for their signature cocktail at each of the restaurants and some of the bars as well. In addition, I really loved the lobby bar that had snacks 24 hours a day, coffee and espresso, and certain cocktails you could only get there. Now, my favorite part of this..the swim up pool bar and all of the poolside and beach staff. They engage everyone to come participate in games (without being pushy if you don’t want to) and they really make it a great time. The staff really make this place- everyone seriously goes above and beyond here. They have a show each night, but we usually stayed out at the pool and beach for so long that it was hard to stay up until 10pm. But the ones we did make it to were a lot of fun. We recently booked another trip here for our first anniversary and I cannot wait to be back!

The grounds are even more spectacular than the pictures indicate. Service is top notch. Food is incredible, especially at restaurants. The water at the beach is calm and warm. The staff here never miss a chance to impress you. Truly a remarkable resort.

My girlfriend and I stayed here from March 14th thru March 19th. We were supposed to stay thru March 21st but due to Covit 19 scare the country and airports shut down. We had to leave early on the 19th. First off, this place is fantastic. The accommodations were first rate, food was for the most part fantastic, The beaches and pools were second to none. We also played the golf course and it was very challenging and well kept. That was the good, here is the bad. 1) Having to leave early, I asked about a refund or future credit for the two days and nights we didn't get but paid for. We were given a name and number to contact: Rosa [-]. The number did not work and after numerous attempt via email we have yet to hear anything from anyone at Iberostar regarding our request. 2) When we were checking in at the airport, I realized I had left a very nice silk sport coat in my room, 7220. I tried to call the resort directly but couldn't get in touch with anyone who could help me. The next day I did get in contact with several people who offered to help me get my sport coat back, Caroline [-] and Greisa [-] . Both asked me to send them a shipping label. FedEx informed me they had to create the label on their end. I've tried to get in contact with both of them since but they have never returned my emails, nor my sport coat. These two items have left me with a very bad opinion of an otherwise great resort. Just wish the mgmt was as great as the facilities.

It makes us really happy that we exceeded your expectations on those areas. Nevertheless, we are saddened that you had some hiccups in regards to your stay due to the Covid-19 situation which made you leave the property earlier than planned. Despite our hotel was closed one day after your departure, attending to the local government’s call, we tried to put you in contact with you tour representative who was supposed to deal with the refund as your booking was through a Travel Agency and not directly with the hotel. All in all, once the hotel opens back, we will get in touch with you and follow up with your case. Please accept our apologies for the troubles and the lack of attention we were forced to offer, rest assured that this is by far not the way we deal with cases like this. I'm sorry it took me so long to post this review - but I've been singing the praises of the Iberostar Grand Bavaro since my trip. The facilities were wonderful - I ate at all the restaurants and explored pretty much every inch of the grounds. So much more peaceful than the family-oriented Iberostar on the adjacent grounds. I didn't golf so I can't comment on that - I mostly hung out at the pool and on the beach, with my day being centered around the 4pm bingo at the swim-up pool bar...rough life :) I traveled alone and fellow travelers were really fun - I was never at a loss for company when I wanted it, and had plenty of free time alone (which was my primary goal). The staff are the real highlight here: butlers Daniel, Alby, and Luis; bartenders Maryelix and Tobias; beach staff Robert, Jose, Luis, Kerlin, Vincente and Henry; entertainment staff Ariela (fantastic!), Yocari-B, and Hot Chocolate, and other staff including Nelson, Hector in room service, Exelente, Wilnet (bellhop), all the waitstaff especially the French restaurant, and all the cleaners in the rooms, pool area, and public bathrooms. I don't usually go back to places I've already been, but I will absolutely visit here again. Gracias!

The Good: Gorgeous well maintained grounds. Excellent facilities. Fantastic drinks! The Butler experience and the Balinese beds were amazing. The Star Prestige level was worth it for the beach beds alone! The Bad: NO LOBSTER!!!! Some of the staff were unaccommodating (rude). The Star Prestige Room overlooked the neighboring hotels maintenance sheds.
