Dear Jari, thank you for visiting us and taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback. We're sorry you didn't get to experience any aquatic sports on the lake. It's been a very unfortunate summer with regards to that because, as you said, the blue algae multiplied in the lake as a result of the excessive heat we experienced this year. We hope to have you over again some day so you can experience the many really quiet and beautiful corners of the lake, accessible only by kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboards. It's great to hear that you had a nice time in the area nonetheless and wish you all the best for your future trips, one of which will hopefully lead you back to us! Kind regards from Luxembourg

Nicely located right at the lake. Friendly owner. We booked a family room with our kids of 2 and 3 years old. It had two bunk beds, was large, had 6 lockers and its own bathroom with a shower and toilet. Shower was extremely hot without and option to change the temperature.

Dear Koen, thank you for visiting us with your family and taking the time to review our hostel. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay (based on your rating we're assuming that that's the case). Regarding any noise from other guests or the smell of weed, we would like to of course point out that such behaviour is not permitted at the hostel. As you can probably understand, the behaviour of individual guests goes mostly unnoticed, especially at late hours. We thank you for your comprehension on the matter and hope you and your family had a nice time and managed to get some quality sleep! Kind regards from Luxembourg

It was just opened in 2001, brand new youth hostel. It was meant to be environment-friendly and clients had to act accordingly. It is located in the middle of the nature with and offer an incredible view to the lake and forest. It is well worth visiting! But more important, the

Dear Ionut, thank you for visiting us and taking the time to write a little something about our hostel even after such a long time! Christophe and Mona have not been working with us for quite some time now, but we always valued their enthusiasm and effort. And while the staff may have changed, the hostel is still the eco-friendly place you liked so much at the time. In fact we have further expanded our efforts and are now also a "fair trade zone", certified by Fairtrade Luxembourg. We were also rewarded the EcoLabel a few years ago already. The staff may be different, but we'd really like to have you over again. The lake is still there too, as are the enchanting forests. :-) Until then, we wish you all the best on all your future trips!

Had a great time there during our bicycling weekend. We slept with 3 friends in a 6-bed room. Toilets and showers were very clean. Breakfast was nicely served each morning. There are two free parking fields available nearby the hostel.

Dear Kevin, thank you for visiting our hostel as part of your cycling tour and taking the time to leave us a few kind words about your stay. We hope to have met your expectations and that you enjoyed the beautiful cycling trails in the region. Although the terrain is quite tough, the views are certainly rewarding! :-) Wishing you a safe journey onward and hoping you'll stop by again some day!

Dear Christian, thank you for your inquiry. 50 km is quite a generous radius, there will be plenty of available activities, and it will be hard to narrow this down. As you saw, the lake itself offers lots of nature-related activities such as kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddling, but also hiking and swimming. There are ruins of a castle in Esch-sur-Sûre, about a 5 minute drive away, but also plenty of other castles, the most spectacular of which are Vianden (36 km), Bourscheid (17 km), and the two castles of Beaufort (39 km). A fifty kilometre radius would include Luxembourg City, which is home to a dozen museums ranging from modern art to history. The City also offers a very interesting programme called 'Summer in the City', with plenty of free concerts and performances. Depending on the season you plan on visiting, I recommend you look into it. Many people also come to the region if they are interested in military history. The north of Luxembourg and nearby region of Bastogne (Belgium) saw some of the fiercest battles of World War 2 as part of the 'Battle of the Bulge'. There are a great many battlefields, museums and cemeteries relating to this, the most notable of which is the impressive American Military Cemetery of Luxembourg, which is 45 km away. The Bastogne War Museum is 27 km away, the General Patton museum 20 km and the German military cemetery 31 km. Your question is very broad, but we hope we were able to give you some interesting input. If you need any further information, don't hesitate to contact us directly. Kind regards from Luxembourg
