I did the trip twice and both time I have been flashed. The family is as lovely as they could be and help you out with every thing you ask for. They have also a place in Bali (Canguu) where I have spend almost two years with them. I couldn´t leave cos It felt like HOME. Thanks for the best time in my life and I will comeback, so I promised
inilah suatu daerah yg menawan dari pada daerah2 lainnya pantai yang menajubkan, pasir yang bersih, nuansa alam yg berbeda dimana terdapat air terjun yang begitu indah dan inilah kekayaan bangsa INDONESIA DARI SABANG SAMPAI MERAUKE '' CINTAI DAN LESTARIKAN ALAM NEGRIMU SENDIRI SEBELUM BANGSA LAIN MENGAKUINYA ''
The location is great - it is only a few minutes ride by motorbike/scooter ($5/day) to the left and right reef break. It is also closer to the river mouth wave than any other accommodation. The break in front is only about 20 metres walk, but the waves here aren't consistent and it is a rock bottom. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They are usually there for about 4 hours of the day. They speak very little English, but you will get by. Downstairs is a ping pong table, fridge/freezer, kitchen, table, blender, portable gas oven, water cooler, toilet and shower, cutlery etc. Upstairs is a single, open room with mattresses, pillows, sheets (which are changed every day), several fans, a box (with a lock) to store your stuff (you get your own box), a clothes-line and a hammock (actually, the hammock got a hole in it while I was there, but I'm sure they will replace it). If you don't like cooking, you have two options: 1. Get a lift to Pacitan (40 mins drive, AUS $20) and stock up on groceries (the Indomart is cheap and there is some decent fruit around the place as well, including mangoes, bananas, strawberries and watermelon), 2. Go to a local restaurant (e.g. meals are AUS $3 at the restaurant/hotel out the front of the left and right reef break). If you want to some peace and quiet, eHomestay is probably the way to go. Some of the other spots can get a bit noisy as there are a larger number of people. Then again, earplugs will probably do the trick (if necessary). I stayed at eHomestay for 12 nights with a mate. While we were there, only one other person stayed there. If you want to socialise, this might not be the spot for you. All in all, eHomestay was cool. It's not the cheapest accommodation in the area, and I didn't particularly enjoy cooking (especially after a long day of surfing), but if you like a good view, peace and quiet, ping pong etc., then look no further. It really depends on what you are looking for. …
We stayed here with family of 5, kids all teenagers. Location is excellent, probably one of the most beautiful beaches on Java and about 3-4 hrs from Yogya. Accommodation is basic but clean and the staff is very friendly.
