Beautiful location, wonderful friendly staff, fantastic pool and surroundings. Lovely restaurant for lunch or dinner. So glad we found this wonderful hotel. A couple of restaurants, shops and currency exchange right outside hotel.
We had such a relaxing, laid back stay here (very welcome after our travels around Thailand). Our bungalow was very comfortable and all the staff were so friendly and helpful - especially the restaurant staff (including the chef who was always keen to chat to his diners). The pool was very refreshing (cooler than the warm sea) and a good size for swimming. Yes there are lots of steps but they didn't bother us - in fact they provided about the only exercise we took during our stay! The resort is right beside a lovely natural beach which was largely deserted while we were there. We often had lunch at the pleasant beach bar just along the beach (to the right). We went on a superb boat trip to the local islands (great for snorkelling) which the hotel booked for us. What we enjoyed most about our stay at the Nakamanda was watching the sun go down over the sea while dining at the outdoor restaurant each evening.…
If i could give Nakamanda more stars I would. The service was spectacular, the staff is constantly refreshing waters, bringing you food, and checking in without it feeling overbearing. The pool is huge with plenty of lounge chairs both facing the pool and the beach. The hotel is Situated on the beach and a quick 5 mins walk in either direction brings you to many more food options. The rooms are spacious and clean and incredibly private. Fantastic option for a romantic trip. I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. Would recommend it 100%.
This resort hotel is most probably the best I have been so far in my entire life. The venue is out of this world with nice apartments raised from the floor on pillars and surrounded by colorful vegetation. The pool is huge. Very quiet during night and day. Staff is what makes this place outstanding with friendly and generous people. Clean and full of nice amenities. Please book this place!
We had a lovely relaxing 5 nights here. The rooms are all separate little villas with their own private seating area outside. The rooms are very spacious. The resort is clean and calm, it has a great pool area and breakfast is good. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that people reserved sun loungers in the pool area from very early in the morning, then didn’t occupy them till later. This shouldn’t be allowed. The staff were so helpful and pleasant and the place was spotless.
Nakamada is ok provided you like steps as rooms located in separate units require lot of running up and down; The breakfast - buffet is very good ,but service especially evenings is not recomended;staff does not speak much in English and constanly makes errors with billing Fitness room very small- and half of equipment does not work! Beach and swimming great - but not in front of the resort baut 300 and 600 m to the left. Beach great for morning walks. Great food at small restaurants to the right - some 0.5 km walk- good for the digestion!
Laid back, secluded & away from the hussle & bustle of Ao Nang. A lovely complex, a great pool, sat on 2 of the best beaches anywhere, what's not to dislike? In an effort to offer a fully balanced view there are quite a few steps, the rooms lack that last bit of polish & could do with a mini-revamp, but these are minor points, plus the little Village is lovely with just enough to do to keep you occupied. Well impressed!
private resort next to beach. ideal if u want to be away from crowded Aonang. Great service and friendly staff. Stayed in pool villa and sala villa w family of 9. Take morning walks along the beach and go kayaking. Breakfast overseeing beach is great!
Excellent food, beautiful views especially at lunch time, I wish we had stayed at this hotel, the staff were very good. I had the stir fried sea bass in black pepper sauce, just delicious. Service was very good. The head chef is genuinely interested to see if you enjoyed your food
I’ve missed bot being able to visit the Nakamanda so it was a very welcome return. We travel the world quite a lot and if I had to pick one hotel to stay in this would be it. There are more architecturally superb and feature packed hotels out there but very few that embrace the natural beauty of their surroundings so well and Krabi is beautiful. The place blends seamlessly into its surroundings and leads naturally to the sea and it’s quiet little bay. You see the long tail boats come and go, a few local fishermen hand netting for small fish and generally watch the world go by. The contrast between high and low tide is stark meaning you never get bored. There is a more traditional sandy beach a few steps round the corner. The staff are caring and many have become extended family to us over the years. The restaurant has a setting which makes you keep pinching yourself and we have eaten well. Thai food is the best option, a yellow prawn coconut based curry and a whole fish in garlic and black pepper were stand out dishes this trip. Neither were overly spicy. The rooms are spacious and feature outside sitting areas or salas very much like a thai house would. Housekeeping worked really well this trip to clean the room when were out maybe having breakfast or on our travels. There are some bars and restaurants within walking distance, either via the beach or the road. The Andalay beach bar round to the left as you walk out onto the beach would be a recommendation, some interesting tree houses to chill out in. That said we always rent a car to go off exploring. Price is a very personal thing but the Nakamanda resort bridges international hotel and local pricing meaning you never feel uncomfortable. It has a lovely boutique vibe and you definitely feel the envy of anyone walking along the beach wishing they’d chosen more wisely. During the covid lockdown it’s nice to see the resort has invested in several areas seeking to improve the property which meant that as regulars it still felt fresh. We will definitely return.…
