Detailed Reviews
This place is immaculate! So clean an so quiet. Everyone is helpful and everything works good. I loved the breakfasts. I just used the pool today and it was so pristine.
It’s also far away enough from all of the noise so that sleep is not an issue. However it’s close enough so anyone can walk to the beach or take a moto taxi for 200 pesos anywhere in Sosua. This place is highly recommended.

+1
Our flight landed around 9pm and we were at the hotel just before 10pm. The owner, Tom was there waiting for us. He had allready called to the airport and asked when our flight would land, so he would be ready for us. That's how considered and helpful they are there. The hotel is small and intimate. Pool and bar area is beautiful. The hotel is a great place to relax. Only minus, it's a little bit far from restauranst and beaches.

We checked in here for a few days & found it to be 3* it's atmosphere is great the foods good & the management guys and staff are very friendly. Our room was refresed everday & we had no reason at all to complain. We didn't have any form of transport but as the hotel is a little way from Sosua it's advisable to have it unless you're comfortable with a motorbike taxi!!. We would definitely consider spending a few days here again.

Stayed there for 14 days. Exactly what I was looking for. Away from the crowds, excellent security, well kept beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Enjoyed my free breakfast and watching Formula One racing with the proprietor Henk.
English, Dutch, French, German and of course Spanish spoken here. It’s a friendly crowd where Northern Europeans, Dominicans and North Americans mix.
It’s also guest friendly.
A small tip to the servers, maids and security goes a long way. I’ll be back in October.

We made a two week tour with our own car and also visited Hotel Voramar in Sosua for a few days.
After two previous experiences / holidays in the Dominican Republic, (permanent place in a Resort), we can now recommend everyone to take a tour. Beautiful island. You land at Punta Cana airport, but within a few hours you are in Sosua. Great to do!
At Hotel Voramar we had a great time. Henk, the Owner, his wife and all the friendly staff have made us feel at home.
No effort too much to get mint for our mojitos immediately. Surprisingly good food in the evening, breakfast full, lovely pool, and had a super evening with the karaoke! Cozy bar available!
And be able to experience a vibrant nightlife.
Friendly people all.
Hotel Voramar is also a nice starting point/centrally located in the north, to go to Puerto Plata (west) or Las Terrenas (east). Of Santo Domingo (zuiden).

Nice Hotel with very friendly staf. Breakfast included. Good Europeen Dinner possible. Very good German Cook. The Staf did everything to make our stay nice. Showed us the area, rented us out scooters, very cheap. Brought us and eat with u in a very nice restaurant, wich you will not find, if you don't no where to look. Always enough staff around. The Hotel is a 2 ore 3 star place, and that's what it is. I can recomand it to you all.

For a new experience in hotels, in Sosua, you should try the HOTEL VORAMAR, located just behind the casino in Sosua. It is carefully run by a German, Swiss group mainly for singles but not necessarily so. Rooms and apartments are super clean with hot water and electricity all the time. Apartments have a fridge and gas stove installed so you can make your own meals. The pool on the grounds is carefully maintained as well. Some nice touches are the 24 hour bar with some pretty chicas running it, great coffee and a light buffet in the morning, included in the price. The restaurant is always open too. The tennis courts are in excellent shape, so bring your racquet. The many Germans who go there are very friendly and always want to practice their English if you are Canadian or American. Many Americans were there too, in March of 2006. The main Sosua beach is always accessible with a ride on a Motoconcho for 30 to 50 pesos or about one to 2 dollars Canadian. The peso exchange rate at the Voramar is excellent , 33 to one American dollar in March of 2006, better than in the shops and on the street. The Cabarete beach can also be reached by bus or taxi or you may want to rent a car or motor bike from the hotel itself. Motor bikes or motor cycles can be kept inside the hotel grounds if safety is of concern. The entire grounds are surrounded by a high security fence so that any client will feel completely safe and secure at all times. You may make reservations by calling 1-809-571-3910 from Canada or America and with a 001 -809-571-3910 if calling from Europe. You may also e-mail Henk or Harald at HOTEL@voramar-sosua.com

I stayed in the hotel voramar from 1-30-2009 to 2-6-2009 it was the worst hotel experience of my life. The hotel is too far from town you need to rent a scooter to get around, i rented one from the hotel for $120 for the week the battery was shot so i had to kick start it every time, i told them and they did not care. There is no security. my room was robbed while i was sleeping all my clothes and my shoes and toothpase were stolen and $150. The night watchman is the night sleepman he sleeps on duty. After the robbery i was given another room the bathroom cieling fell dowm at 6am and management did not want to hear about it so early. One more thing they gave me a fake police report saying my stuff was stolen fron a bus
