What we liked most: - Cozy room, clean, and comfortable. Utilities work perfectly, you can tell Julius takes care of the property and has spent time/effort/money making sure the property's "guts" are top notch. In DR, this is a HUGE accomplishment and honestly goes a long way to making your stay comfortable. - Location! Perfect to visit Encuentro beach, which... More

The SurfBreak near Cabarete is an awesome place to stay for a while! Especially the host Julius takes care for his guests at his best. When ever we needed help or a good recommendation Julius helped where ever he could. The SurfBreak itself is close to the surf spot Encuentro and after a day full of experience you can enjoy... SHORT VERSION We were a group of 7 people staying in 3 different appartments of SurfBreak. We all spent a wonderful time, mostly filled with surfing. SurfBreak offers lovely facilities and a location that makes it perfect for surfers and people looking for relaxation. We found SurfBreak was great value for money. We experienced a very friendly staff and an... More

My girlfriend and I spent a week at SurfBreak in early January this year. It was absolutely amazing. One of the best travel experiences we have had (we are seasoned travelers). If you like great surf, yoga and massage sessions, hanging in the pool or hammock, meeting great people, having fun in the nearby town and all of this in... More

My family spent the week at this location. It was an incredible experience over all. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and the owner Julius was nothing short of incredible. He really made me feel at home for the whole week and took care of all the logistics for us. If I ever find myself in Cabarete again... More

I loved my time here! It is rustic, laid back, and quiet, which made for a very refreshing and relaxing experience. Breakfast was included, and you can use the well-equipped kitchen to cook your own food. My friends and I were there over New Year's, and they offered a five-course New Year's Eve dinner, which was the best food we... More

Thank you so much Alyson, It was a great pleasure having your group stay at Surfbreak. I truly admire the family spirit and friendship you had with each other. And I miss having you around, I really do. And I wish I had joined you in one of your fun games you played around the table, lol. Hopefully I'll see... More

The room we ended up in was clean and comfortable. Being close to the surf beach was great. Edio was very helpful and friendly. However, we initially booked a room with a thatched roof being overgrown by a bush. The room was dark and filled with bugs, namely cockroaches and a giant spider! Breakfast is not included, but there is... More

Thank you for your review. Yes, I screwed up with that Cottage unit. I'm so sorry! I let the bushes grow trying to create a homey/hidden environment but that experiment failed quite badly in that it blocked the sun too much making the inside of the cottage too dark and it also created an environment that certain type of insects... nice place, pretty, calm. It is far and you will need a car to reach it. 2 different houses both with their own charm. Not to be missed! Nice brazilian backpacker taking care of stuff. Lots of canadan guests. 2pools, nice gardens and flowers, close to the beach. Very well equipped cuisine

Very nice place if you want to be close to surf. Nice garden with 2 swimming pools. Lots of fruit in the garden with mangos all you can eat. You can use the kitchen to make your own meals. The owner is very friendly and willing to help and advice you in anything you need to know.

I'm very happy you liked your stay even though the waves for surfing were only good for one of you: the beginner. If you want to be sure to catch big waves you have to come in the winter. Summer in Cabarete is for strong winds and not so much for waves. I really hope you can make it back... More
