Clearly, the Villa Taino knows, from the heart, just what travelers want and they deliver with their Latino warmth and care, which is top of the line. The managers and staff were kind, helpful, thoughtful, friendly, and willing to share their beautiful world!
This is a friendly, clean and charming property, with an exceptionally jovial and serviceable employee named Wendy. Villa Taina is centrally located in Cabarete Bay which is essentially a surf strip of beach front hotels/condo's, restaurants and surf schools. VT offers free bicycles rentals and a couple of workout machines, if you're looking for dry sports. Also be sure to inquire about local excursions to 27 waterfalls of Rio Damajagua; as well as a private driver to take you to some local points of interest such as Puerto Plata cable car (funicular), Casa de Oro chocolate factory, and San Felipe Fort. We used Jojim Tours, sent by the hotel to pick us up at the airport. It is an outstanding small family operation. Bring a sarong or wrap as the evenings can get cool.
Cabarete is one of our favorite places to visit while on Island. Decided to stay the night at Hotel Villa Taina. Room was clean and quiet. Very comfortable bed. Beach is within a few steps from your room. There’s a restaurant on site as well with very good prices. Parking is very limited but if you speak the the security guard he’ll hold a spot for you. Overall it was a quick stay, but very good. Highly recommended if you plan on hitting the beach 1-2 days. The pool is extremely cold. Their daily rate was a bit high which I wasn’t expecting due to the fact that Cabarete is veryyyy affordable. But worth the stay.
Had a nice stay at the hotel. We had a room on the fourth floor, won’t do that again. While the view was gorgeous it was tough retrieving things once we were down stairs and really only slept and showered in the room. We will choose downstairs next time and deal with weekend noise. Room was basic, bathroom didn’t provide toiletries, only a bar of soap, and gel in shower that was empty, so bring your own. Good shower pressure. Our electricity did go on and off a few times. Only two outlets in the room to use for charging, so might want to bring a charger with multiple plug ins. The coffeemaker which wasn’t cleaned, and lamps were not plugged in. WiFi worked well even on the beach. Location was perfect we could walk just about everywhere. Restaurant and bar were fabulous. Cons were -We have never stayed in a hotel where we couldn’t charge to the room. I guess we could open account at reception, which seemed odd to us, because charging to credit card for every meal and drink seemed like an added expense to them. Also beach towels had to be picked up at reception instead of close to the pool or beach. The vendors on the beach are relentless. I am surprised the owners let them on private property into the restaurant. It’s tiresome. We spent time at the pool to get some peace from them. Our safe in the room never worked. The instructions didn’t apply to our safe. However, nothing was stolen and we gave the hotel excellent because we loved the staff, cleanliness and location. …
Stayed here for 3 nights , Accomodation was perfect everything we were looking for , Perfect location right in the middle of Cabarete , We used the Bar, Spa and Restaurant everything was just top notch and the staff were all so friendly.
