Beautiful gated community in Cabarete, Dominican Republic 😎 beautiful private Villa - 3 bed each w/ personal en-suites! community services we’re top notch, and very friendly accommodating staff. Excellent location close to shops and the beautiful North Shore! Surrounded by fantastic restaurants and beach bars. Ocean is a little rough with a bit of a undertow. Great for boogie boarding, Kite Surffing, or just playing in the waves. Beautiful water with warm sandy beach! Great beach for walking or running. Will most definitely be going back. If you are looking for a retirement home in the islands you should really consider checking this beautiful part of the Dominican.

Our party of seven arrived to find a charming villa, pool, and separate bunkhouse. Facilities in the house were acceptable regarding AC, but then we shared our concerns regarding the rock hard mattresses. Everyone agreed that their mornings were progressively worse as we had backaches. These concerns were shared via email with management; the response was that our concerns were a first for management and that nothing would be done in the time we were staying there - 2 weeks. Toilet paper soon ran out as well as drinking water for coffee and cooking - these were not replenished and had to be purchased at the supermarket. Numerous rainy overnights meant moist clothing an towels which could not be dried - the dryer was locked away in storage behind the house. One would think that paying guests could be trusted with the dryer. Anna - the cleaning lady - came twice a week. One batch of laundry set aside for her to wash and dry was left untouched. We therefore had to hand wash this laundry. We were told that the electrical usage was topped at 50 kilowatt - this meant airconditioning, lights etc. Always a concern if you’re on holiday and the power gets shut off. All told at the halfway mark we were looking forward to getting back home to enjoy and catch up on sleep on decent mattresses. Excursions: do try to visit the 27 waterfalls - a blast and great fun! Monkey Jungle is also fun and a worthy cause regarding wildlife sanctuary for endangered monkeys. Blue Moon was touted as a must see - we booked online and paid our cab fare ($80!!) only to arrive at an empty Blue Moon. A second party ha cancelled so Blue Moon management cancelled the whole evening - we were not informed about this. The cab driver mentioned that the frequency of visits to Blue Moon had decreased drastically over the last year - coincidental correlation? Food: Janet supermarket is a comprehensive one stop shop for most items. Eating out: Bliss - great food! Papi on the beach: excellent seafood! Gorditos: hearty Tex Mex burritos! Claro next to Janet’s supermarket: great breakfast value. In short: the housing complex consists of privately owned villas - reviews show a generally pleasant review - we might suggest management address poor sleeping arrangements as guests tend to become grumpy if the day starts with a collective backache.

My wife and I stayed for 2 weeks - April 2016. The villa was absolutely perfect. Spacious and beautiful inside no out. It had everything we needed and far exceeded our expectations. A short 150 meter private walkway to the fabulous beach and an amazing beachfront resort pool available for guest use. We would spend time at the Beach - then at the resort pool and then to escape we would come back to the lovely garden and secluded pool at the Villa when we wanted our quiet time. The outdoor kitchen - "Palapa and outdoor secluded space was our favorite thing about the villa. All the shopping and restaurants are 5-10 minute walk away along the beach or the main road. The owners were great in the booking process and explaining everything about the villa.. The caretaker was "Bueno"! Very helpful and friendly. We have already booked for next year. Wifi is good but is limited mostly to main floor because of the thickness of the concrete walls. Highly recommend staying here!!!

Wonderful unit seconds from the beach but set back enough to be quiet - just far enough from the mayhem of town to escape the noise, but a great view. If you like kiteboarding, as do my son and I, you walk to the beach in about six seconds, rig, and you're off. It's like having your own private beach. Plus you get a pool, beautiful landscaping, a beautiful and well-equipped unit that is well maintained, an extremely helpful staff ... Olas de Oro #25 gets my family's highest rating.
