This place is secluded but not isolated. You have everything you need to enjoy every detail in every experience they offer. The staff is amazing and will make feel special and well taking care. We took a flight from Bangkok to Chang Rai, they arrange an explorer amazing arrival and a tour of Temples at Chan Rai after. It was amazing!!!

We stayed 2 nights at the Anantara Resort in Chiang Rai. The experience was sublime from start to end. It began with a heartfelt greeting from the resort GM - Serge who was extremely hospitable and convivial. The next surprise was our check in which gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite even though we didn't even ask. The spacious room itself was incredible with a king size bed and huge bathroom including a large bath tub. But what I found most enjoyable was having a large balcony overlooking the wildlife. It was incredible to have the sun rise poke its way through the foliage and trees in the morning while we were waking up. And the grounds of the resort was impressive. I loved the scenic infinity pool which adjacent to the jungle which made for a rustic eclectic experience. The restaurant and bar was huge and in keeping in the nature theme with the wooden floors and walls. The breakfast buffet offered many healthy and delicious choices even for finicky palates like myself. The resort offered us early check in and late check out departure which allowed us to soak in this Anantara resort experience to the max. Finally, I must complement the resort staff for their incredible professionalism and superb service. Everything was done impeccably well and it made for a perfect resort experience. I highly recommend this resort to anyone planning to stay in the Chiang Rai area. This was a perfect stay for us!

The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort was an absolute highlight of our trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience that combined a luxury atmosphere with the incredible opportunity to be up close and personal with the beautiful elephants on the camp. We booked the Walking with Giants and Elephant Guardian excursions on the property and had so much fun. The staff at the resort were incredible and Morn especially, who was the on-site restaurant manager one night and took care of us at dinner the other nights made us feel so welcome and special. She is incredible and we fully expect her to be managing the place when we come back in the future :). Highly recommend, the experience was worth every dollar.

Takes a while to get there, but very unique, learned a lot about elephants and the history in recent years. Did the elephant education class, elephant walk and cooking class all were very good. Staff is excellent. Would highly recommend the ‘Italian’ restaurant for dinner. No one goes there and the head chef Gino will come and greet you and explain the courses, we had the price fix. Make sure to go there at least once it’s the best dining experience in the hotel by far. It’s international not Italian. The rest is Thai and very good, and meals are included except the ‘Italian’ spot. We went there twice and were the only ones in the restaurant both times. Great for families too, nice pool and property. Make sure to go to the opium museum across the street. It was a highlight of our trip. Really adds clarity to what is happening to the USA regarding our drug problems, as Asia had the same thing occur in the 1800’s during the Opium Wars. And yes history does repeat itself….

The hotel / resort is set in the most spectacular scenery overlooking jungle, Mekong and elephants. The lobby, bar and dining areas stunning and from the welcome to the goodbye the entire team could not have been more helpful, professional and friendly throughout our stay - many hotels and resorts could learn from this establishment! There are also some unique experiences available including walking with elephants (these are rescued or orphaned elephants taken into care by the charity and an optional donation helps support this program) and spending a night in a ‘jungle bubble’ in the company of elephants. Again, these activities are organised and managed to a great standard, as is the Thai cookery course run by the charming and knowledgeable Parinda! Overall one of our best best stays

The whole experience for us at the Golden Triangle was incredible, probably aren’t enough positive words to describe all aspects of everything that was simply superb! We had booked the Explorers Arrival option which meant being met by Tann at the riverside near Chiang Saen, he was excellent and very knowledgable, and took us down onto our boat to head along the Mekong river, an exhilarating start! When we arrived at Anantara, we went up onto a pretty welcome jetty area and were greeted by two serene giants, a pair of beautiful, graceful elephants; Jatong and Kamun, best friends, who do everything together. Just the most stunning welcome and such a joy to experience. Winn explained so much to us about how they work with the elephants here, having around 20 onsite that have been rescued and bought to enjoy a peaceful life in this lovely safe sanctuary space, we were able to share bananas and coconuts with the two that greeted us whilst we enjoyed fresh cool drinks too. Our room was beautiful, wonderfully decorated for our wedding anniversary as we were celebrating whilst away on our trip. The facilities of the hotel were pristine, all the staff so warm, friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive which can be a fine art! We had chosen 3 activities to enjoy during our stay, walking with giants, spice spoons market trip and Thai cookery lessons and a delightful relaxing spa treatment each, and we enjoyed every aspect of each activity, hard to decide which was our favourite! Being so close with the elephants was an amazing treat, considering how big they were, they were just so gentle and calming, and a real pleasure to see how well they are being looked after here by Winn and the teams of expert Mahouts, their connections with these gentle giants is just fascinating to watch. We also absolutely loved the session with Chef Pisit Jinopong, or “Chef Jino” as we all called him for the day! He is the head chef for the resort and his knowledge shone through, sharing details of his incredible career spanning over 30 years and working in some very interesting places. We visited the local early morning market in Chiang Saen to experience the vibes and produce available and meet some of the local people, a great way to immerse yourself in local culture, very interesting and enjoyable. From here we went to a local farm run by a local family and enjoyed their hospitality with a traditional breakfast prepared for us, even including a few nips of their own homemade whiskey! Back at the hotel we went to see their own hen houses and mushroom farm area as they work hard to focus on environmental sustainability and use as much local and fresh produce for their restaurant menus as possible. They also highlight throughout the hotel how they avoid use of plastics wherever possible too, which is a very positive element. The cookery class back at the hotel was excellent, we learnt how to prepare and cook a 3 course traditional Thai meal and had the bonus of being able to sit down together and enjoy each course as it was ready, it really was fantastic and absolutely delicious! Chef Jino tasted our dishes too and was impressed with balance and flavour so seems we didn’t do too badly! Overall this hotel experience for us was one of the best we have ever enjoyed, the food, ambiance, service and style of the whole place was truly excellent and did not disappoint, we have stayed in some pretty decent hotels when travelling over the years but this really stood out and the team at the Golden Triangle should be extremely proud of what they are delivering here, it is honestly wonderful and perfect for a special occasion destination. Thank you to all working so hard here to bring the very best to your customers, you are certainly achieving your goals!
