This our second time to stay at the hotel. Our 1st trip was last year. Our family began to love Elephant from that trip. So when covid case is reduce and government allow to travel we plan the trip again. Everything here is fantastic. We just came back and thinking about next year trip. We strongly recommend everybody who love Elephant to come and stay here.

Hotel's Favorite
If you always wanted to visit the Golden Triangle, stay in a truly five star hotel with unique experiences, go to Anatara Golden Triangle now! Every THB we paid for, is worth double its value. We took a spontaneous trip to Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai to get away from COVID-19 restrictions of Bangkok. When our car pulled up, we were greeted with drums announcing our arrival; we knew we were in for something special! Management and staff were at Reception to welcome us, and ensure that we'll have everything we need to be happy during our stay. Due to minimal number of tourists, we were treated like celebrities; everyone at the hotel knew our names, preferred meals, drinks, and even snacks. Every dish we had at the restaurant were beautifully plated, and delicious. Beverages expertly made, and meet the standards of cocktail connoisseurs. Anything we wanted (within reason), they bent over backwards to provide to us. We also added the unique experience of staying one night at the Bubble, where we dined with elephants as our companions, slept in total comfort under the stars, and woke up with the sunrise. The setting was perfect to connect with nature, and your travel companion. All in all, we know that we'll be bringing our families here in the future. For those that can travel there now, take advantage of no crowd, extreme discounts at the hotel, unique "customized" experiences, and support Thai tourism.

A beautiful hotel and setting ruined by large groups of families with multiple children. Let me just say our first day here was amazing! This place is serene and beautiful-really the ultimate place for relaxation. Watching the elephants from your balcony while sipping on a cocktail is truly an amazing experience. Then comes day two; multiple families traveling together checked in with a bunch of kids. While the hotel was checking them in they took a seat in the bar area-and I kid you not-I think they had 8 kids with them just running around screaming and taking over the entire bar area. The whole place looked like a disaster zone when they were done. Management didn’t seem to say anything to them about how loud they are or that they are destroying the quiet of all the other guests here who don’t have young children. Our room was right next to one of the families and below us was another family. The balconies here-the highlight of room for purposes of elephant viewing are about a foot apart-and so you hear everything from your neighbors both when outside the room on the balcony and inside the room (poor sound proofing you will hear every time the kids are running around in the other room). Let me just say there is ONE pool. There is ONE restaurant. So everywhere we go whether it be in our room, on our balcony, at the pool, at breakfast you cannot get away from the screaming children running around all over the place. We even paid to go to the spa and use their outdoor tubs and you guessed it-could still hear the same kids from there as the spa is just down from their room-and all rooms are on the same side of the building! I cannot believe the hotel is not even proactive enough to maybe do something like put children with families over in the the pool wing are and adult only parties in the spa wing. Nope-they will just sandwich you right in between multiple families. We would have checked out immediately if there were any alternatives nearby but once here you are captive. So do I blame management? Yes. Do I blame the parents who cannot control their kids (and don’t seem to care at all)? Absolutely. I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet vacation BUT if you have kids and you want to take over the property and pretend you are the only guests then come here-this place is for you. Food is just OK. Jino the head chef is great and provided us with a wonderful cooking class. Breakfast is by far the worst of the four hotels we have stayed at on this trip in two weeks; just very low quality and no made to order selections apart from minimal egg dishes (not even eggs Benedict) and a local soup.

We just left the property and couldn't wait to write this review. We travel quite a bit in luxury properties. Yet, this one still took our breath away with the help of staff members like Tuk (Guest Service), who answered all our questions before booking and throughout our stay, to Katerina (Director) and Mai (Restaurant), who were all so very kind, helpful, and thoughtful. From the very first minute of arriving, we felt welcome and like an actual VIP experience. They instantly remembered our names, room number, what we liked and didn't like (at breakfast), etc. The whole stay felt sort of magical. We were in room 217, a suite overlooking the Elephant Camp, mountains and rivers, and the three countries (Thailand, Laos, Myanmar). Morning till evening, we were able to see usually several elephants in the distance, minding their own business. We had so many lovely moments during our 3 nights at the resort (which really feels more like a boutique hotel with just over 60 rooms). From simple things like fresh coconuts at the mlind blowing pool to things where the hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. For example, the hotel offers a shuttle into town. However, because there were not many guests and nobody used the shuttle, they drove us around the village for a bit, seeing multiple viewpoints. During Loy Krathon, the river and lantern festival, we were there, which the hotel embraced with their guests. We had the chance to build our own Krathong, make a wish and put it on the river, as well as light up a lantern and see it disappear in the night sky. Not only did we genuinely feel as if we were participating, but we also really felt like the staff enjoyed introducing and explaining this important tradition to us. Truly magical! The elephant encounter (we opted for "Walking with Giants") was also a pleasure. Seeing elephants like this in the wild, bathing in the river, eating grass, and playing around was lovely to witness. Our final night we spent in one of their "Jungle Bubbles", which was surreal. It was our first time in a bubble accommodation and, as you can see in the pictures attached, it was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We had dinner next to the elephants and slept in front of them while hearing them chew on their food. Fantastic experience, really. We have no doubt that we will be back, and once again, we would like to specifically thank Tuk, Mai, and Katerina — but the entire staff from the front desk, restaurant, bar, and housekeeping.
