We were in town and got a room at the last second for 100,000 won or about $100. Room had a double bed and single bed, TV, mini fridge with water and juice, along with a shower. They also provided toiletries including a shaving kit and face mask, and a free western style breakfast with eggs and sausage. Service was great, room was clean and smoke free. I speak Korean, but they can speak a little English. All in all, it's a motel that aspires to be a boutique hotel, but it is clean and nice. Location is a big plus - close to transportation and tourist sites, all 5-10 min by taxi.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights during a tour of South Korea. It is around a 10 minute cab drive from the Gangneung bus terminal. The staff at the front reception were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a care package each with toiletries and face masks which was a nice touch. The room itself is moderately sized and very clean, the bathroom also has a jacuzzi tub which is great after a day of sightseeing. We were given a free breakfast token to use in the mornings, the breakfast is an "American" styled breakfast cooked for you by the chef, quite simply but nice. This hotel is also in a good location to visit the national parks. We caught a bus from Gangneung bus terminal to Sokcho which took around 45 minutes, from here we were able to travel to Seoraksan National Park.

Stayed here two nights during Korean new year. Which was great idea because sights were very very quiet, even Yong Pyong ski slopes were quiet and queueing to lifts was close to zero. Lot's of interesting things to see in this part of Korea, so I can highly recommend the area in the hotel itself. About the hotel, prices were up due to holiday season. Standard room was 120 000 won/night, when low season weekday price was 80 or 90 thousend/night. Breakfast was additional 10 000 won. I got upgraded to deluxe room :) I don't know what was the difference between standard and deluxe... based on pictures it was small "soffa" and table I guess. Anyway I recommend going to standard as you really get nothing with additional price. Otherwise all the standard things what you see in Korean hotel, a lot of small accessories for bathing and beaty. Few small cans of free drinks, big tv, internet & pc + aircon. They had free wireless, which was okay signal on the hallway but not strong enough in the room to work :( That is definetly a minus, I had my own laptop so I used the cable connection meant for rooms pc. Breakfast was ok, two small sausages, scrambled eggs, two cherry tomatoes, one toast and small sallad + miso soup and milk & cearials. I think you can get more with same money by going to restaurants on the street. For dining I recommend CGV shopping mall which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel to south west direction about. There is big supermarket and on the 6th floor very good selection of restaurants (like upmarket food court style) And last thing to mention, car parking was free on site which was important for me. All in all, very interesting area of Korea where Gangneung and Hotel C were great places to be based on.

Good points: -Friendly owners; Served breakfast an hour early for us. Gave us heat pads to take out with us on cold nights. -Breakfast; freshly cooked for you. -Location; near town centre on a quite back street. 5 main walk from train station. 5 main taxi from bus station. - Warm; underfloor heating, you wont know its winter. -Free WiFi in the rooms. -Large flat panel TV,kettle, fridge, PC, DVD player stocked fruit juice and water. -Clean and immaculate rooms. Bad points - Bath was abit small.

My spouse and I stayed there for 4 nights when we visited Gangneung. It is one of the nicest hotel room we had ever stayed in. The room is of good size, clean, well kept and comes with modern decor - designer wall paper & furnitures, a king-size bed, 40" flat panel tv, bar fridge, a PC workstation, and free WIFI. I thoroughly surprised and enjoyed the jaccuzi bathtub in our bathroom! The staffs are very helpful in meeting our requests and provide very useful tourist information. We really had a wonderful experience staying at the N Hotel.
