Since 1991, I have visited Shangrila Resort on numerous occasions and have literally seen it growing. First thing, the natural beauty of the area is so overwhelming that even a very mediocre facility will keep getting customers during summer season because there aren't many hotels around. The beauty of the area is absolutely fabulous. High mountains, the Lower Kachura Lake,...

Baltistan lies between Ladakh (to the east) and Hunza River (to the west) with Karakorum Range of defining the northern boundary and Astore River the south western. Skardu, the capital of Baltistan is located at the revelation of 7500feet above the sea level in the backdrop of mighty peaks of Karakorum Mountain. It is in the heart of dangerous frontier...

The hotel is established on beautiful grounds. The lower Kachura lake is breathtaking. Their garden is a good place to relax after day trips as the view is mesmerizing and it gets really amazing at night when the sky is completely dark and you can see gigantic rough pitch black mountains all around you. In fact they can be overwhelming...

I came to this resort for my honeymoon and I was impressed by the beauty of this place. It has one of the most beautiful lake in the world. The water of the lake is crystal clear. You even see the fishes inside. You can boat or simply walk around the lake. Coming to the cons, the rooms are very...

We stayed 5 nights at shangrila and our experience was not even close to being good. We got the lake side cottages and they were terrible. The bathrooms and the rooms were very old and not upto the standards. The rooms did not have a t.v, telephone and ceiling fan. There was no room service at all. We stayed there...

Shangrila Resort is a must stay. We went there during the eid holidays with family. The hotel is beautifully located on the Kachura lake surrounded by mountains. Beautiful roses all around the place. One just gets mesmerized in the beauty of this place. We spent 7 nights and were 17 people in the family. It was the perfect getaway for...

Skardu is at an altitude of nearly 2,500 metres (8,202 feet), and Hotel - Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Canada is at an altitude of 5,249 feet, So comparing the hotels and resorts in Skardu to anything else is not a good idea. I was surprised that the hotel had hot water and a high pressure shower. Rooms were clean and...

This hotel is located on the Kachura Lake, and after convincing the guard at the gate to let us in, we came in to have high tea here. The grounds are immaculate, with plenty of rose bushes everywhere. Lots of people here. Did not sleep here so cannot comment on that, but the food and the palce looked very nice....
