My friend and I stayed here after a 9 day backpacking trip. I hadn’t been in Gilgit for 16 years. Be careful, there is another hotel pretending to be Madina 2 Hotel called Madina hotel. Make sure you ask for Madina 2 hotel belonging to Mr Yaqoubi. The garden at Madina 2 makes this place as special as it is. It is an oasis of peace, calm and beauty in the noise and frenetic activity of Gilgit. Mr yaqoubi and his staff go out of their way to be helpful and informative. They saved us hours of time and money on pointless travel arrangements by calling their contacts and determining the trek we wanted to go on (and could get no coherent info on from the Pak Embassy in California or local police) was indeed closed unless one had a specific trekking permit. The food is clean and delicious. The bathrooms are white, sparking clean with heavenly showers. I met lovely people there, but it was also peaceful and quiet. I LOVE this place. It’s almost worth going to Gilgit just to stay there and talk with Mr Yaqoubi.…
I visited Madina Hotel II three times during my stay in Pakistan in February-March 2021 together with two fellow Swedes and we truly enjoyed this place. The secluded garden was super cozy and we had all our meals out there. Superb and kind service and so interesting to hear the owner's stories from the hotel's rich past (and there are photos to prove it!). Makes me smile just writing this :) Thank you for your great hospitality! PS. Walking distance from the Gilgit airport.
This is a very cosy hotel in Gilgit. I would classify it as mid-range given Pakistani standards. The hotel has a really nice patio/garden where you can relax or have breakfast. The hotel owner is very welcoming and eager to have a conversation with the foreigners. We had a lovely stay here!
This is my all time safe & secure stay at gilgit , i have been there and stayed there several times. Staff is very cooperative, place is amazing , you will get good clean rooms with all type of charging slots in room, wifi & hot water 24/7. This is safe place for solo females . I always stay there & enjoyed my stay . I 100% recommended this place .
The staff are really helpful. It is a great place to stay with a very nice garden. Always helpful with travel information. If you need anything the owner will take you to where you can get it. It is always nice to have clean white sheets.
We had the pleasure of staying at Madina 2 on three different occasions during our (great) tripe to Pakistan. We always looked forward to coming back. The rooms are clean with hot water. The really selling point of this hotel is Mr Yakob and his amazing staff. They really can’t do enough for you and are a pleasure to stay with. I would highly recommend this place. Mr Yakob is a pleasure to spend time with and always makes you smile.
Place is average for Pakistan. Rooms is old, neglected but they have hot, real hot water and bed sheets is clean. Staff is friendly and try to make for you anything in restorant. Prices is very low and
The facilities are decent. There is hot water, breakfast is fine, there are a variety of bed rooms available. But the real selling point of this hostel is the service. Hosts can easily organise taxis, transport and provide advice for travelling in Pakistan. They drove me to NATCO bus stop to purchase my Chitral ticket and then drove me to the NATCO busstop again the next morning at 0530. Above and beyond
We spent several days in Madina hotel in Gilgit and we really felt like at home..the garden is pretty and peaceful, the service is super friendly, the rooms are clean , WiFi and hot water available 24h and the owner is a great ambassador of his country hospitality...thank you so much.
We chose this hotel because we only needed a place to sleep for the night and this had amazing reviews. Their garden was amazing. It had a lot of fruit trees and the environment was very welcoming. The rooms and furniture were really old. The walls were dirty and the paint had peeled away in many places. The fan was in the corner of the roo and not above the beds which made sleeping at might really difficult. They kept us waiting too long for dinner and would not tell us why until it was very late. My baby and I got bitten by bedbugs and the marks still haven't gone away. I feel they should do some renovations. At least paint the walls and get the furniture polished to make the outlook better. Oh and they should definitely do something about the dim lighting in the dining room.i want to see my food when I'm eating it.…
