Wonderful place to spend your time in Bardia! The accommodation was very good. Nice AC in rooms and beautiful gardens. They will be opening a new lodge soon and although we just saw it briefly it looks like it will be even better! The food was excellent. Staff were all very attentive and helpful. Our guide Sitram and his assistant Norris, were fantastic! We spent two days in the jungle and felt so well looked after. They were extremely knowledgeable and efficient. We saw tigers both days we spent in the jungle! Amazing experience. Highly recommended.

Really wanted to see tiger(s) so chose to come to Bardia National Park instead of Chitwan. May is meant to be a great time to see animals because it's very hot so chance of seeing animals at watering holes are higher. Although Rhino Lodge is more expensive than some other lodges, but I chose it because they are one of the few that provides air con in all their rooms and I'm so glad I did! Having the air con was a great retreat and allowed a good night's sleep. The rooms were clean, food was delicious and the hospitality very friendly (the owner chatted with us everyday over meals at the lodge). The guide and driver were very professional and friendly too. We stayed for 3 whole days and saw fairly close deers, rhino, elephants, monkeys and glimpses of a dolphin's fin in the river where we swam to cool down (because it was too hot in the afternoon). I was a little disappointed we only saw a tiger from afar (~150m away), but that's just luck and the driver and guide did their best! Tip: wear natural forest coloured clothing (like green and brown). Do not wear red or white, it will scare the animals away. And be prepared to sit and wait for a while (sometimes over an hour) without moving or talking. But only this way will you get the true experience of seeing animals in the wild! Another positive is the travel agency that partners with Rino Lodge can give you discounts on other services around Nepal too! When I contacted Rhino Lodge, Bibas G. answered all my questions and helped me book everything to visit Bardia (including flights, transfers from airport, lodging, meals and touring the national park). Turned out he's actually an agent who works in a tour agency's office is in Thamel, Kathmandu. Bibas is extremely hard working and replied to all my emails and whatsapp messages very promptly, even late at night. He was also able to book our Nepal flights (eg. Kathmandu to Bardia, Kathmandu to Pokhara) cheaper than what I could find on skyscanner.com. We met up in Kathmandu and he also organised a driver for us (at a competitive price) to take us to where we wanted to visit in Kathmandu.

I was hesitant about going to Bardia because it is a long way from Pokhara, but it was definitely worth the trip. I stayed for four days. The owner of the Rhino Lodge always made sure I was happy and had everything I needed. Individual requests were never a problem and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms had AC and always electricity (which shouldn't be taken for granted in Nepal). Wifi was only available at the dining hall. For the trips to the national park I had two experienced guides with me, who could tell me a lot about the animals and local culture and made sure I could make the most of my trip. I had a really great time there. Although it wasn't the ideal time of the year for watching animals, I saw a tiger and a few rhinos (and a lot of monkeys and deer). All in all I'm very happy with my stay at Bardia and the Rhino Lodge. I'll definitely come back someday. Next time in spring to see all the tigers.

We went to Bardia along with friends for tiger sighting in early May and chose to stay in Rhino lodge since the rooms we airconditioned in the lodge and we were travelling in scorching heat of May.I have heard that only Bardia tiger resort and Rhono lodge have AC rooms Rooms were in excellent conditions with balcony facing beautiful manicured garden The whole property is huge with beautiful restaurant setting The owner managed our bookings and arranged for Local chicken before our arrival ,he is such a nice person and have wonderful team The guide for Jeep safari was Mr Dharma Giri,he is a researcher in Wildlife and have done wild life study in scores of National park in India for 10 years .He was an expert and was familiar with all the tiger habitat in the jungle.I highly recommend him as the Guide for Bardia since u was able to view tiger for an hour in the very first day of our Jungle safari We went to jungle on Jeep safari arranged by the Rhino lodge along with our expert guide. Within 2 hours of our journey in jungle we reached a spot called Hathi Taal with a small pond and we were abke to track the Tiger on the jeep track walking tiwards the pond. The Tiger walked away and we waited at pond and he retyrned after 10 ninutes and gazed at us for 5 minutes and sat beside the pond for long time .and finally returned without taking a dip in the water IWe had a great time and we stayed there for only 1 day but we were amazed by the incident Summers is the best time to view big cats when thy rush to watering holes in search of water
