Set in the Himalayan foothills outside Kathmandu, The Dwarika's Resort-Dhulikhel is opening in August, 2013. This will be a spectacular property offering guests the chance to enjoy unique Himalayan spa treatments, gentle hiking and other activities, and organic cuisine prepared with ingredients from our own farms- all with a magnificent view of the Himalayan range ahead.
The resort is about one hour’s drive from Kathmandu airport and is an amazing oasis from the hustle and bustle of the town. We arrived about 9:30am, but our room was ready for us. Having gone through a briefing about the resort and been placed in a WhatsApp group to enable the hotel and ourselves to contact each other easily, we were shown to our room by golf cart. The resort was fairly quiet as we were at the beginning of the season, and we were given room 223 an upgrade on our original room. There was a KSB plus an additional daybed in the room, which looked out over the hillside. There was a TV, radio and CD player, tea and real coffee was provided, there was also a fruit bowl and cookies provided as well. There were 3 separate aircon units and a safe. The bathroom had a separate toilet, bath and shower and two wash basins and a hairdryer, there were also lovely toiletries provided as well as slippers and bathrobes. The flooring in the bathroom was slated wooden strips and pebbles on which you had to be careful walking. There was also a roof terrace with chairs and loungers. The resort is built on a steep hillside so for main meals we had to go down and for the swimming pool, salt and crystal rooms, spas, art studios, lunchtime restaurant and bar we had to travel up the hillside. There are golf carts available for the less able to walk. Our package included breakfast and evening meal as there is not really anywhere nearby where you can walk out to for food. Breakfast was a buffet with eggs of your choice. You had to notify reception by 5pm of your choice for evening meal. The food was all amazing, well presented, served hot and was very tasty. Each day of our stay we were provided with a different coloured scarf which they encouraged you to wear, they were yours to keep. The staff we came across from the room cleaners right up to the hotel management were all really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother. If you want a little pampering and luxury, I would certainly recommend this resort.

We recently had the extraordinary pleasure of returning to Dwarika's Hotel Dhulikel for the second time, and we can hardly find words to express just how incredibly wonderful our experience was. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of freshness and delicateness that we had never encountered before. The farm-based foods they offer are nothing short of a culinary revelation, bursting with flavors that can only come from the most genuine and natural sources.
However, what truly sets Dwarika's Hotel Dhulikel apart is the people. From the very first interaction, we felt like a part of their family royalty. The staff's warmth and genuine desire to make every aspect of our stay perfect was simply heartwarming. Pramesh and Suman deserve special mention for going above and beyond to ensure that our time there was not only memorable but truly unforgettable. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to make every moment special made us feel like cherished guests.
The facilities at the hotel are beyond compare. Every corner is adorned with thoughtful details that reflect a deep commitment to providing an exceptional experience. The little presents left in our room and the careful attention paid to our preferences without us even needing to ask were small touches that made a huge difference. The range of spiritual and creative cultural activities they offer added another layer of enrichment to our stay, allowing us to connect with the essence of Nepal on a profound level.
Having traveled to more than 30 countries and experienced luxury accommodations from renowned brands like Jumeirah, Hilton, and Six Senses, we can confidently say that Dwarika's Hotel Dhulikel outshines them all. It's not just about opulence and luxury, although those elements are certainly present. The true magic lies in the personal and sincere experience they provide. The staff's dedication to creating meaningful connections with their guests transforms a stay into a journey of relaxation, reconnection, and rejuvenation.
Dwarika's Hotel Dhulikel, you have turned Nepal into one of our favorite destinations for exactly these reasons. Your unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Thank you for reminding us that true luxury is measured in the genuine connections we make and the sincere moments we share. Until we meet again, we remain forever grateful for the incredible memories you've given us.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights on a vacation in Nepal, booking their City-Country Package, which included stays here and at the Dwarika Hotel in Kathmandu.
The experience was nothing short of wonderful, filled with delightful surprises, lasting impressions, and complete satisfaction.
Initially, I wasn’t particularly drawn to meditation or yoga. My only goal was to unwind in a peaceful resort setting with a view of the Himalayas.
Since I’d heard about the frequent cancellations of domestic flights in Nepal, I decided not to risk traveling too far from Kathmandu. This hotel, just an hour's drive away, turned out to be the perfect choice.
The hospitality of the staff, the thoughtfully provided amenities, the stable internet, and, of course, the stunning Himalayan views were all beyond my expectations.
But the highlight of my stay was definitely the food. Each evening offered a fantastic spread of Nepali and Indian dishes, along with continental options. We loved the Nepali cuisine so much that we didn’t make it to the Japanese restaurant, and yet, every meal brought something new and delicious over our four nights.
The tranquility of the hotel is also remarkable. Early November is peak season in Nepal, with ideal weather—clear skies, mild temperatures, and little rain. Still, the hotel never felt crowded. Every view, from the hilltop lookout to the serene pool area, felt like it was reserved just for us. Based on other reviews, it seems that guests often find they have the view to themselves.
Thanks to everyone at Dwarika’s Resort, I enjoyed a relaxing, fulfilling vacation that was absolutely perfect.

We were delighted with our stay at Dwarika’s Resort Dhulikhel last week. We were treated with genuine warmth, consideration, care and an almost unbelievable attention to anticipate our needs almost before we were aware of them ourselves.
We had the opportunity to try many of the activities, all of which were world class in the way that they were delivered.
Stand out experiences for me included the sound healing therapy, the massage and body scrub/steam Bath from Yog and Bina.
Our expectations were exceeded throughout and the speed and courtesy when we chose to eat in our room where 3 housekeeping staff whisked gracefully through the turn down followed by the fantastic service of delicious organic food.
This part of the city country package was especially wonderful and we also enjoyed our return to Dwarika’s in Kathmandu where we were treated with great courtesy. Please pass on our grateful thanks to your staff.
We very much hope to return.
Sharon and Jay

Response from Dwarikas Hotel, General Manager at The Dwarika's Resort
Responded Oct 16, 2022
Dear Mr. Rokka, We understand this is regarding the booking of your client Mr. Giladi and family at the Dwarika’s Resort, Dhulilkhel, as we have not received any booking for a Mr. Ben B. Please note that the requirement to settle the room bills of an international guest, other than Indian Nationals, in foreign exchange accepted currency is a government implemented policy and not an internal policy of the Dwarika’s. To add to this, our sales team had ensured that this information was communicated to you on the time of the booking placement, in order to avoid any misunderstanding in the future. Also the booking for the said suites were placed almost 45 days in advance, giving you ample time to prepare for the payment from your side. In all of our correspondence we have made it abundantly clear that the payment has to be settled in USD (foreign exchange accepted currency), and none of this detail was a last minute surprise. Contrary to your claim of paying the full bill amount, we only received a partial payment of USD 900. Since our priority has always been our guests and we go to lengths to ensure that they have the best possible experience with us, we even agreed to accept the partial payment of USD 900 and to hold the NPR equivalent of USD 1482.82 as a guarantee even when you informed us about this matter at the very last minute, i.e. during the time of guest check-out. We have always made it clear that the NPR amount is only a deposit, not the final payment, and will be refunded upon the receipt of the remaining balance in USD. This is the reason you have received the receipt for the amount of USD 900 only. Standing by our words, the receipt of the balance amount will be duly given to you once the payment has been received in USD in full. Further, we would have been able to accept your NPR payment if the payment had come through to us from a company account; where the company has a foreign exchange license. However, since we received the payment through a personal account, this does not allow us to accept the NPR payment at all. We can only take NPR payment from foreign exchange license holders. We understand the policies of the Government of Nepal can be complicated but it’s a required formality by the government. We have hence been trying to reach you to sort out this matter and would be happy to sit with you to finally settle it. I hope the above clarifies any misunderstanding you may hold against the resort, which is not founded at all. I hope that you will be willing to cooperate to set up an appointment with our team at our hotel to discuss and finally settle this matter. With Warm Wishes, Dwarika’s Resort, Dhulikhel

The Dwarika’s Resort offers a serene retreat with stunning Himalayan views, traditional Nepali architecture, and exceptional wellness facilities like yoga and spa treatments. The staff is warm and attentive, adding to the peaceful ambiance. However, some facilities need maintenance, the menu could use more variety, and the remote location may not suit those wanting to explore nearby attractions. Overall, it’s an ideal destination for tranquility and rejuvenation, with room for minor improvements.

My wife and I have spent two nights in this heaven. It was grand finale for our two weeks in Nepal. It is not a resort, but a whole mountain. You are sourounded by imense trees and vegetation, tasteful nepalic art and objects, mainly budhist, giving the feeling of serenity, peaceful and nature. the service is personal, warm, pleasent, and smiling. You can join many activities, mostly free, Yoga (twice a day), singing bawl healing, prana yama, pottery class, drawing class, cooking class (with extra charge), and more. and the two sunrises we spent on the very top of the mountain, looking dreamingly at the snow caped Himalayan Langtang chain, was experience of a lifetime. True, it is very expensive and they are quite rigid regarding discounts, but you get a lot of value for your money

quite a long drive from the airport through towns/villages that are not particularly attractive. The resort itself took a bit of getting used to since it has quite a few levels you can either conquer by foot or a golf carter driver will take you to the various places of interest within the resort - or shuttle you to/from you room when you make a phone request. Our room, while very large, had a pretty weird bathroom (2 sinks) with wooden slats on the floor (rocks underneath); not really comfortable on your feet and if something falls down it would probably be impossible to retrieve it. Toilet room is a step down. Not all rooms seem to be like that we found out. Outside is a sitting area that's very private. Were told that you can see the Himalayas on a clear day but that wasn't to be. Lovely restaurants; good food choices. One has a huge terrace where you could have your breakfast. Lovely gardens and paths to the Salt and Crystal palace (rather intriguing experience), an infinity swimming pool with hot tub. Much to explore. Gift shops offer a lovely selection of everything from hand made soaps, some clothing, jewelry, note books, art work, on and on.

Hey,
Yes it is monsoon season, but the rain is sporadic. I visited last year in monsoon season and am going back this Tues 20/6...There are lots of things to do at this resort and really the rain doesn't have too much of an impact, just take a rain jacket.
We still had clear beautiful sunrises over the distant Himalayas with the odd downfall in the afternoon...but it did not alter the enjoyment of the vacation.
There are more places to choose from in the Dhulikhel area.
