Overall I had a good stay and the location, the staff and my "garden view room" was of a high standard. What marred the quality of the trip was when I was moved to another room in what appear to be ex military blocks where I have to say the room was austere and impersonal and not worth the $200 price... This is a great hotel option for Bagan given its location and surroundings. The grounds on the banks of the Irrawaddy are immaculately maintained and rooms are comfortable and good value. Although major renovations are currently underway at the main reception area this has little if any impact on guests. Breakfast buffet choice is also extensive Several days a week... More

Rooms are ok. Swimming pool is amazing, with a great view of the river. You don´t need go to the city for a great dinner. The restaurant is fantastic. Staff still have some problems with english, but they are very kind.

The location of this hotel on the banks of the river makes it a nice place to stay. The rooms are in bungalows scattered around the landscaped grounds and well-appointed. The pool and spa are a nice touch. But the food here is mediocre at best with few local dishes on offer.

During a 5 plus week travel through SE Asia we spent two nights at the Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort and wish we had stayed longer. The resort was excellent in all aspects with the only minor exception that the rooms were a bit on the basic rustic side which we felt added to the charm of the place..the grounds are extensive... This hotel is in a great position on the banks of the Ayerwaddy River next to Old Bagan and conveniently located to the thousands of pagodas and temples throughout the archaeological zone. Unfortunately the hotel has seen its best days and it doesn't look like much has been done to it since it was opened a few decades ago, although... More

Our family took a trip to Myanmar last Christmas and overall the trip was fantastic. We went to Yangon, Bagan and Inle Lake. Everywhere that we went, the people we met where perhaps the friendliest we have seen in our travels. The highlight of our trip was probably the balloon ride over the temples in Bagan. During our ride we... More

The reception was good but the rooms a little dated. The restaurant is rather pricey & not good value. The location is very good but it may be worth asking your guide for alternative places to eat. If you are happy to pay over the odds then eat here.
