When we had a hard time finding a working wi-fi, Luta had one with cold beer and excellent food!:) The service is a little ...awkward, they don't understand English and don't really want to try either. A little more training of restaurant staff would have rendered them a higher grade. Rooms are excellent but try to get one away from...

Plus: Spacious rooms, good breakfast buffet with local offers, friendly staff, good location to the river. Fairly rated prices. And yes, due to the mild climate one does not necessarily need aircon in the room, I even did not use the fan! Minus: poolwater was not good so I decided to not use it. Wood of sundeck to the river...

What a cultural experience Toraja was. Unbelievable. I loved it. Invited to a funeral ceremony of a woman who died a year ago. Architecture is so different from anywhere I visited. In the interior of South Sulawesi is a Christian community. I arrived at night and had an Indiana Jones moment on arrival. This hotel is by the river and...

As you have probably seen, the choice of hotels in Rantepao is limited, but Rantepao is definitely the place to stay when exploring Toraja. The Luta is pretty decent if you adjust your expectations accordingly. The food here is only average, but Sulawesi cuisine is generally not as good as the other provinces. Great location for getting to ceremonies, buffalo...

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is ideally situated to visit the northern and southern Toraja highlands on Sulawesi! It is, however, a 10 ½ hour drive from Makassar to Rantepao, but well worth it. You will drive for the first part along the coast and will be able to see the traditional Buginese houses and the...

We spent a night in Rantepao on our way back to Makassar from North Luwu. My colleague said that this was the best hotel in Rantepao, and I guess it was a fair assessment. However, don't expect a resort type as it's more a two star hotel than a resort. However, it was clean and service was ok, if not...

To be fair, the location is the best part of this hotel, since it is very central in the middle of Rantepao town. I think that is also the reasons why this hotel was fully booked during my visit and I end up stayed in superior room at the third floor which did not have aircon. Please note that only...

As a backpacker, i stayed in another hotel recommended by my guidebook and had a terrible nights sleep, so i moved here seeking comfort. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with hot water showers. Breakfast is ok, I'd prefer more Indonesian variety, but they have cakes, tea/coffee, pancakes, congee, fried rice, fried fritters and fruits. Staff are very polite and friendly,...
