This place gave me great energy for the next few weeks. I came there to hike to Ijen volcano. Ben, host of the place, took care of booking place for me on that. He is the kindest host I had in Indonesia, he takes a great care of the place, guests and, he cooks delicious meals☺️ I recommend that place to every backpacker who likes places with a soul this one definitely has one 💚

I booked a group tour of Kawa ijen and they forgot to pick me up! In the middle of the night I had to wake the owner of my homestay to ask him to bring me there. Because of these circumstances I had to pay almost double of what I expected! They wanted to come by to apologize, haven't seen anyone.. I'd rather have the difference I had to pay unexpectedly cause they forgot about me in the middle of the night!

My partner and I have never felt more welcome! Benny and Berry, along with the family and many friends, provided a constant stream of smiles and friendliness and true warm hospitality. Benny’s wife fed us incredible food and their daughter is an angel. Benny and Berry not only answered every question we had about Java and beyond, but they even offered their own knowledge and recommendations which contributed to our incredible Banyuwangi stay. They helped us organize a scooter, where to find the best spicy food, how to get to the train station at 4:00AM, and more and more. Our trip to Ijen was a breeze thanks to Berry and his tips. I 100% recommend staying with them as well as taking a tour, you won’t regret it. Benny and Berry speak excellent English and we had amazing conversations, which I’m still thinking about and dwelling on the lessons that I learned from these truly wonderful people. Not only did we feel safe and comfortable, but we also had a great time and felt like we made true friends.…

I rode my scooter to Osingvacation, Benny was outside waiting for me. That night I joined the tour to Ijen, booked through Benny. Had it not been for Benny's tips I would have never made it to the sunset point in time, let alone find it. He told me the timing, he showed me the way on google maps, only 30 people from the 1000 visiting Ijen made it to the stunning sunset in time, thanks Benny! A great friendly guy, perfect English, stay here for a great trip to Ijen!

Came down here with a friend for a short stay mainly looking for a place to sleep and rest after hiking Mount Ijen. When we arrived we were greeted by our host, who goes by the name of Benny. Benny made our whole experience in Banyuwangi a great one, from his hospitality, attitude and professionalism. He gave us lots of tips and answered many of our enquiries. Their friendliness is exceptional, I was invited to hang out (or the locals call it 'lepak') with Benny and his friends from the village in the evening, they even brought local snacks like pisang goreng (deep fried banana), 'Hong Kong' (deep fried flour with condiments and fillings), Tauhu goreng (deep fried bean curd) for me to enjoy it with them. Other than that, if you're looking for a real simple place to stay with the basic necessities and you're not too particular or picky about it, this place is definitely highly recommended. Breakfast is provided, there is clean water for you to drink from a dispenser, there's also wifi, a place for you to hang and dry your clothes, a motorcycle that Benny allows you to use in case you need to get around town, people who are generous, honest, helpful and unselfish when it comes to giving you information or even personally bringing you to the best places to eat in town. Host: Benny is one of the most helpful hosts I have ever met. He would give you a lot of helpful tips during your stay here. He allowed us to stay for half more day (with extra charge) because we finished our Ijen tour at 7am on the next day. I really like that he's always concerned with our wellbeing during our stay here. Has a pretty good command in English. Room: The room was clean and tidy but very basic with no hot water, but it's fine with me because it's very hot here in Banyuwangi during my stay. Breakfast was provided. Highly recommended!

Was only here for a short stay, because I did the Ijen Crater via Benny. He is a great host, funny, social and will respond to all your questions. Lovely breakfast after an early trek to Ijen. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I didn't pre book so the hostel was full when I arrived but Benny helped us find other accommodation and even advice for more travel plans a day or two later. Highly recommend! Will stay here in future

If you are looking for serenity, this is the place. There is virtually nothing but houses and some trees and some chickens and cats around. You have to take about a 5-10 minutes walk to get out of the village into the main streets. Love the home-cooked breakfast in the morning. Traditional, homemade food. Comfy bed and pillows. Ben the owner is a really really nice guy with a welcoming heart, regardless of who you are, he just welcomes you to his humble home. He also helped me to plan for an Ijen trip. Not exactly a place you could find on your own without a local, especially more so if it is at 12 midnight. Location wise, it is very off the main streets. Not a big fan of the bathroom and the water pressure, but that was what they had. Would love some rugs in the place just to brush off the sand before entering the room or climbing onto the bed?…
