We had an order via Travel Agent for three nights but due to the guest being affected by Covid our guest had to leave the hotel early. In this case, we ask to hotel that the remaining nights can be canceled without a penalty fee, but the hotel is very uncooperative and for the three nights are still subject to a penalty fee. It's really a pity even though we have a lot of official trips in Balikpapan and we will not use this hotel again for our business purposes.
Some kind old fashioned three stars hotels that may be your favorites. Large room, bathtub, ceiling to floor windows, high ceiling, good housekeeping, morning newspapers, refrigerator, hotel sleepers, large parking area including basements, 2 elevators, emergency torch lights, nice sea views, close to airport - mall - my branch office, located on protocols street, various tv channels, hot water, the rates are low budget, breakfast menu are complete but the taste just so so, there is door man and so helpful on other side less hospitality for restaurant man staff, and hotel walls outdoors in maintenance so there is a lot of noice and craft man hanging on scaffolding outside. after all this hotel is recommended.
Having to overnight in Balikpapan before catching the morning flight to Tj. Redab the next morning, this hotel was as convenient as they come. It was just about 20 min . from the airport and another 20 min to the restaurant we wanted to go for dinner. Relatively inexpensive, tidy and with Wi-fi, it was all I needed for a short lay-over. Room decor could be better though. I felt it was a bit tacky.
Centrally located. Rooms are quite & spacious. Complementary breakfast has limited menu for foreigners. English speaking staff are not available at the reception, which some times pose a problem.Good elevation & sound sleep.
PROS - The whole hotel was presented fantastically and the rooms were well maintained and absolutely beautiful. The views from our room were amazing. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both days we were there, and the meals were great. The location was great, close to the airport and the major shopping areas. We went to Balikpapan, because my grandfather was wounded there in WWII, so we has a list of military sites we specifically see. We tried to arrange a driver to take us to these places, but had trouble finding a company who spoke English. We asked the staff at reception and they arranged for one of their own shuttle drivers to take us around. CONS - Our electronic room cards kept malfunctioning, so we spent a lot of time going up and down to reception to get into our room. Apparently the card system has difficulty understanding people staying more than one night. The staff's English was limited and we often had to wait until a certian person was working before we could get someone to understand what we were asking.…
We were waiting for a flight for 2 days and this was a good choice for our stay. Good big room, comfortable beds (with cotton sheets), good staff, good restaurant, good location (practically right opposite a huge mall with shops and restaurants). Cable tv with HBO movies in the room, and a huge buffet breakfast. On the outside it looks like a 4 star hotel, and it is really trying to be that. When the tv seemed to have bad reception they sent maintenance to sort it immediately (I was travelling with my son so cable was quite important for me on this trip). Overall excellent value for money and a good choice in this city.
this hotel got low prices, not far from airport, nearby big shopping mall. and quite nice and comfy rooms. the staffs was extremely helpful, albeit there was no staff available anywhere near restaurant area when we have breakfast, and not necessarily early breakfast because I had breakfast on 7.30 local time. the only downsides was the noise I experienced on my visit, they were doing a construction work, and the noise crept in the room. not to mention the contractor workers decided to have rest and chat among them with loud noises in the hallways. overall, for a budget, you will have good deals
For a really low price, I was seduced by the magnificent room and the delicious breakfast. Ideally located, this hotel deserves praises. Very nice and welcoming staff. A pleasure to stay there. However, poor WiFi connection.
As mention above, this property is an old hotel still trying to exist in this fast changing city...located in centre of the city, first impression when arrived at night that it was dim, check in process was fast, book thru online travel....room is clean bed need replacement...bathroom surprisingly had bathtub but kinda dirty....breakfast is ok only under staff....for the rates their charging you can't complaint much...
The hotel is not too far from the airport. Enough fun for those of you who want a break immediately after a flight or long journey. The standard room is a twin bed, so if you go alone and prefer to sleep on a mattress that big do not choose a standard room. restaurant is pleasant enough with a diverse menu. Pretty good for a low-cost hotel.
