This hostel offers clean and quite decent dorms (can't talk about the private rooms, as I didn't stay there), with good toilets and showers, free wi-fi and, overall, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The owner is a great guy, extremely helpful and speaks perfect English. A great source of travel info for China and Guizhou, more specifically. I quite enjoyed my stay there and, if I ever go to Guiyang again, I won't hesitate to stay in this hostel again. Definitely recommend it. P.S.: There's a small, but great, rice noodle place just a few meters down the hostel. Absolutely delicious, extremely cheap and offers authentic Guizhou rice noodles.

Not sure when or what other travellers had with this hostel... The taxi driver did not even know the hostel and had to ask for himself and even after asking it was a hassle to get to the hostel. There was nobody there who could tell me when anyone could come to help. Apparantly only the owner speaks english. The room and bathroom was clean and ok. The common room was nice and cheered up a bit with a small dog. The wifi was not good at all. The staff was not helpfull at all.

Hmm, I have no idea how to reply to this review. The hostel is just right beside a main road and very visible as it in on a hill. Did you make an effort to speak to our staff? I am not always around the hostel. If there was any situaion in which you find it difficult to enjoy yourself in Guiyang, I can understand. Most people in Guiyang, cannot speak English.

The friendly and helpful owner, Miao, and his staff run a really nice hostel in Guiyang. Dorms are clean and comfortable with great bathrooms and strong WiFi throughout. Can walk to qianling park in 20 or 30 minutes, dining options nearby, and a whole bunch of fruit sellers on the main road right out front. I arrived at Guiyang north station and took bus 261 which has a stop pretty much across the street from the hostel. 261 runs between the 2 railway stations so should also be able to hop on that bus coming from the main Guiyang station to get to the hostel. The hostel building is grey with lots of big Windows along the front across the first and third floors, you can see it from the main road but its not extremely obvious how to get to it. It's right next to a wood paneled restaurant and accessed from a pedestrian footpath that parallels the main road on top of the retaining wall. There are stairs up to this footpath next to the fruit sellers on the street or from the sidewalk next to the wood paneled building.

I find it strange Booking.com has all the directions, but I am still having guests unable to reach the hostel, even when it is on a main road. Future guests please call 18198287383, not my cellphone as I have poor connections at my residence. Apologies for all the hassles caused.

I arrived to Guiyang with my boyfriend with no plans, and quite overwhelmed by not understanding mandarin, and feeling not capable to do the easiest things, so very frustrated! Luckily we found this great hostel "home-stay" style and we immediately felt the relief. The owner is young, speaks perfect English and he very patiently prepared several routes for us for the next days. He wrote for us all the guidelines, both in English and Chinese and thanks to that we could move easily around the city, take cabs and public transportation and communicate with the people. His recommendations were fantastic, we were pretty impressed by all the natural places we visited. Besides of that, people at the hostel were very kind; we loved the food by Tiger, the cook (who gave me Chinese medicines when I got sick) and the cozy atmosphere of the living room where at night they use to sing mellow Chinese songs with the guitar. The rooms are clean and even if i always prefer to avoid dormitories, the people with who I shared the room were nice and respectful so I was ok with that. WiFi was surprisingly fast! Very recommended spot! :)
