I spent one night here in March this year and had a wonderful time. Everything was great at the camp including the service, accommodations, and staff. As part of an extended trip through Tanzania it was a truly memorable experience and I highly recommend it.
Upon arrival we were greeted immediately by a few staff members that assisted us with our bags and check-in. From check-in until the time we left the next day, the service was impeccable. We were on a week long safari trip after our climb of Kilimanjaro and this camp was my favorite amongst all the camps we stayed at. The food was the absolute best here and the scenery was so peaceful. The owner, Nani, made sure to check on us several times throughout the stay and shared several fascinating stories about past guests, and the tribes we would be visiting the next day. The Hadzabe and Datoga visit was a highlight of our trip and is very highly recommended! Alex, an employee of Kisima, shared several videos about the Hadzabe tribe the night before our visit and was very helpful in understanding the tribe and what to expect the next day. Alex and all the employees made this place special - you really felt like family! The entire camp was so peaceful and the tents were perfect for our stay. When I return to Tanzania, I’ll make it a point to stay at this camp and longer than just a day! Thank you Kisima for the wonderful stay!…
Lake Eyasi is probably not a must-see but the activities in this area are breathtaking. Kisima Ngeda is a convenient base to explore the daily life of local tribes. We loved the friendly owners and staff. The tents probably need a remake in the next few years.
This tented camp is the best choice if you are visiting the various indigenous people around Lake Eyasi. The camp and tents are appealing, but the real stars are the owners and staff. They provide service that is both professional and personal. I was ill forr a day while there and everyone took very good care of me, which I thoroughly appreciate.
We had two nights here before travelling on to Ngorongoro and Serengeti and it gave us the most delightful break. The tents are extremely good with lovely verandas and there is plenty of space between each one. The pool was very welcome and we enjoyed a morning walk before it became too hot. The staff were so helpful and although the wifi was not the best we had encountered, it was just about adequate. This is a very special place to relax and unwind.
